1.) 28 Dec 2015 14:30:05
Nailed on - he will be training next week with Britt going in the opposite direction!

2.) 28 Dec 2015 15:37:36
So let me get this straight were going to sign another Central mid although we already have Lansbury Vaughn tesche grant a returning Cohen plus trotter Williams and Kyle (Dutch bloke) on loan and let an unfit out for a year Britt go leaving us with blackstock oliveiera ogrady and walker who can't even make the squad? Looking forward to the new exciting 4-6-0 formation in the new year that df will have to implement.

3.) 28 Dec 2015 15:56:50
Trotter and Williams go back to their respective clubs in January. Lansbury to Burnley.

4.) 28 Dec 2015 16:19:36
Id be happy for Lansbury to go for the right price Vaughn has been consistently our best cm all season.

5.) 28 Dec 2015 16:53:31
I see Panto Season's still in full swing with you! . lol!

6.) 29 Dec 2015 14:15:39
If we could actually get the oft-quoted £4 million bid for Lansbury I'd bite their hands off on his present form.

7.) 29 Dec 2015 23:05:53
Rubbish. He plays better with every game. Almost stole the match tonight.

8.) 29 Dec 2015 23:55:06
Burnley don't want Lansbury anymore, apparently.

09 Nov 2015 20:37:59
Rumour from villa is gardner is returning to forest on loan until end of season with option to become permanent end of season.

1.) 10 Nov 2015 16:40:47
would like to see this happen! as this guy Gardner is a class act and would calm our dressing room down a little and help our younger players on what it takes to be a winner!

SIGN HIM UP!

ps-Dont want to see antonio go to rams! yuk.

2.) 10 Nov 2015 18:09:22
Thought the squad was full to the max. I assume a current loanee will be sent back to make room for him in January?

3.) 10 Nov 2015 19:52:16
Ebicilio would probably be sent home, he gets injured putting his socks on! Liability or what? Gardner's comin home, he's comin home, he's comin home, he's comin, Gardner's comin home.

4.) 10 Nov 2015 21:49:35
Liam Trotter only a month's loan so that would free up a space although I must admit he played a good role against the Mutton.

5.) 10 Nov 2015 22:12:07
Trotter was brought in on a months loan and that should be up by the international break so we would have a slot.

6.) 11 Nov 2015 10:32:53
Trotter's loan extended until 7th of December so maybe not a free slot unless we are waiting until GG is fit?

12 Sep 2015 22:06:18
Hoping Mancienne not out for long, he's really doing a great job in front of back 4. Both full backs playing well too.

nffc2015

1.) 13 Sep 2015 07:56:09
Always liked him in that position, it just takes the pressure off mills and Wilson or Hobbs and De Vries. It allows Lichaj and Piniolis to make forward attacking runs. Mancienne just stays calm, does his job and that allows the other players to do theirs.

2.) 13 Sep 2015 12:15:01
He plays holding role well. Not sure who could take that on with no Gardner, maybe Osborne? Or Tesche? Anyone know when he is back? Cracking win yesterday. Saviour the good wins fellow reds!!

3.) 13 Sep 2015 13:30:36
Still hoping Gardner returns....still rumoured. Friends a keen Villa fan and apparently he's coming back on loan to us

4.) 13 Sep 2015 13:43:11
We have one space left and wouldn't be surprised if Gardner came back

5.) 13 Sep 2015 17:24:34
If he does I think a top 6 is well achievable!

6.) 13 Sep 2015 17:59:35
Gardner came to us having had a injury, he went back to Villa and picked up another injury.

As good as he was for us we do not need injury prone players.

7.) 14 Sep 2015 08:06:14
If he gets injured we just send him back to Villa, then get someone else in, so we have nothing to lose.

8.) 14 Sep 2015 12:11:16
He's getting better at playing the position game by game.

At first was too conservative and has had to adapt to going fetching the ball rather than holding off to make the takle as he would normally do at CB.

Great to see him making progress and getting right in the way of what the other team is trying to do.

9.) 14 Sep 2015 14:53:12
I'm clearly in the minority around mancienne and the holding role, Don't rate him there. Done ok and works hard granted but distribution not good enough to play that role

10.) 14 Sep 2015 16:47:02
Keeno: tend to agree about MM. He can naturally play centre or left back, because of his pace, but he doesn't seem too sure about passing forward in the DM role. I can't see Henri, Osborn, Ebecillio or Williams doing that either, but if push comes to shove I think Vaughan could do the DM job. He has a hard tackle, just his lack of pace worries me.

11.) 14 Sep 2015 17:05:04
To be fair only time someone had enough space to shoot from 22 yards out on sat was after mancienne had gone off and ebecelio followed the ball instead of being where mancienne would of been.. i think he been playin well there

12.) 15 Sep 2015 10:00:03
bsered

Agree about Vaughan in the DM role. Lack of pace in a DM is not a major problem if the player has a football brain and can read situations. The best DM Forest have ever had was John McGovern and quick would never have used to describe him.

13.) 15 Sep 2015 12:36:18
Belvoir red, I agree, good vision and calm in possession, let the others do the running. McGovern was brilliant at it!

14.) 15 Sep 2015 16:17:19
Mancienne has been largely poor at DM. Unless you are looking for an out & out 5th defender.Suppose it depends on what you want from your DM, but Mancienne offers nowt going forward so he's just dragging the life out of quick forward moving posession.

Give it Lansbury, purely on the basis he sits too deep anyway & you can then replace Henry with some attack minded central midfielders. Win Win.

15.) 15 Sep 2015 17:54:21
Absolutely. For me a holding midfielder needs to be able to get the side moving and control the tempo. Man who doesn't have the passing range so in effect the two further forward midfielders drop deep to get the ball and ultimately we isolate the front man.
Can't have someone there just to be an extra centre half.

16.) 15 Sep 2015 22:15:06
Good job Dougie knows what he is doing then!

17.) 16 Sep 2015 00:12:58
Lansbury MOM for me. Sat in front of the back 4 and shut Brum out.

This was a gutsy determined display.

Roll on Satursday!

18.) 16 Sep 2015 08:01:56
If you want an Anchorman - someone who covers the defenders and breaks up play you want Mancienne - he allows us to play with wingbacks rather than fullbacks.

If you want a Defensive Playmaker - someone who intercepts and allows us to play counter attacking without the support of wing backs you want Vaughan or Lansbury.

I can see both types being important for us. Away from home or against more aggressive teams we would want to play with Lansbury, Ebecillo and Osbourne in Midfield.

Against more passive teams we'd want to play Mancienne, Lansbury and Osbourne - This would allow us to have extra width from our wingbacks and therefore press for the goal without leaving ourselves open at the back.

Next recruit to come in apparently is Gary Gardner. Has signed a contract with vill but Sherwood wants him getting some game time after injury and he wants that to be at Forest. Also No 22 squad number reserved for him.

People's views to give youngsters a chance. I think we have been doing that. For me Burke has cut it at the level however Tyler Walker is out his depth. Not seen anything in his game that makes me think he can cut it.

Interesting next couple of days. As a season ticket my hope was Gary Gardner would return however that looks dead after he signed a recent 3 year deal at villa. Don't think we can expect reidy a to return either. rumours in here suggesting he's finished and will retire.

nffc2015

1.) 31 Aug 2015 11:07:44
To be honest I can see Reid & Jack Lester in charge by Christmas. We might as well get realistic to the fact that Antonio & Mancienne will be gone tomorrow. I think long term our only hope is too start playing the youngsters and Lester knows them all and seems to be doing well with u18. I know he doesn't have experience but youth on & off the pitch playing some good football with a plan for the long term is the only way to rebuild this mess.

2.) 31 Aug 2015 11:12:59
The reason gardner hasn't come bk is because he's injured till October.

Not sure why villa would want Brit with him just coming back from a serious injury. Big gamble. Hoping Mills don't go.
