Milosevic has left . By " mutual consent " which generally means paid off.
Shame in a way because I thought he looked a player but there have been rumours of discipline issues and he has certainly been frozen out.

Benalouane next. All MONs signings will go: must be a sign.

2.) 28 Oct 2019 19:12:07
GIVE WAY must be a sign aswell mate.
😉😉😉.

3.) 28 Oct 2019 22:28:50
Wont be beneloun he signed a contract extension in the summer.

4.) 29 Oct 2019 09:16:42
Best centre half stopper we had. Prefer him in front of Benalouane, Figs and Rodriguez, plus should be first in to replace Dawson and Worrall when he wobbles!

It would appear that Ansarifard is moving on to pastures new in Qatar following on from the departues of Soudani and Vellios and Murphy being told he can leave.

One has to assume that at least one if not two strikers must be on the radar because if not we are very light up front but that said I think the recruitment thus far has been if not spectacular then at least solid, in particular for me, Adomah so let's wait and see who comes in.

The 26 man squad going to Greece doesn't look that good on paper to me.
Think it will struggle in the championship unless some of the kids are better than I've seen from them so far.
Need to sign at least a couple of strikers can't rely just on grabban to stay fit all season.
Not being negative just can't see any strength in debth just numbers.
Hope I'm wrong but it's not got a wow factor about it.

2.) 12 Jul 2019 07:13:26
Unless he likes the look of walker and appiah.

3.) 12 Jul 2019 07:15:44
Have to agree Fff79. there's still a big job to do to bring in more quality. And for that to happen, money is going to have to be spent. There just isn't a depth of quality in the squad yet, and with a few injuries, it will start to tell.

4.) 12 Jul 2019 07:53:24
That's the spirit 79 🤣.

5.) 12 Jul 2019 08:10:15
Personally I have yet to be wowed by any acquisition so far.

6.) 12 Jul 2019 08:15:30
I was thinking the same. Definitely need someone to put Grabban under pressure for his place and back up in place for when he trips over his beard and injures himself!

7.) 12 Jul 2019 09:47:18
Official site says he has left, at least Sabri is not taking a age to make his mind up on who he likes, and does not like.

8.) 12 Jul 2019 09:49:25
Got nothing to do with spirit reddog, it's just my opinion on the squad, if your happy and think that's a promotion squad then good for you mate.

9.) 12 Jul 2019 16:16:19
We should welcome Assomb. back with open arms. and right back is equal p.

1.) 14 Jan 2019 12:16:37
Not for me. Been out in the Republic of Ireland wilderness for too long and out of touch with the modern game. Might steady the ship but that’s about all. Wrong appointment, we ain’t going nowhere under O’Niell’s leadership. The merry-go-round continues.

2.) 14 Jan 2019 12:27:16
Tap nice to see your giving him a chance

3.) 14 Jan 2019 12:58:04
No matter who comes in to manage the club there will always be unhappy fans.
Hope he O'Neil does well.

4.) 14 Jan 2019 12:59:18
I think just a steady ship now until the end of the season. Build a team that wants to play for the shirt, team spirit, courage and wanting to win. Get rid of the dead wood and recruit some quality as well as getting more academy players game time (and Worrall back) I don't think promotion is an option this season but i'm happy with that. Next season we'll smash it. COYR

5.) 14 Jan 2019 12:59:39
For me O'Neil is perfect, forest about time!!!!!

6.) 14 Jan 2019 13:14:58
It’s not that I’m not giving O’Neil a chance Stevie, just don’t think he’s the right manager to take us forward. 10 years ago, yes, I really hope he proves me wrong and shuts my trap.

7.) 14 Jan 2019 13:10:08
Give the guy a chance before writing him off. Who realistically did you think we could get?

8.) 14 Jan 2019 14:30:51
Martins experience is second to none. He has managed and had success at almost every level from Non-League, Lower League, Championship, Promotion, Top half of Premier League Scottish Premier League finishes European Football and International Football. Warnock has shown that age and methods learned in the 1980's is not a barrier to success. The club is in good hands with O'Neill just need luck to be with us (as do all successful clubs) and we could yet rescue this season that was careering downhill fast under AK. Get behind him and stop the negativity.

9.) 14 Jan 2019 14:33:11
I'd take O'Neil and Keane. I'm sure he will get us playing attractive football.
Some have said he's more route one. But he will be managing players who are more suited to playing it on deck.
Hope he's backed so he can add the finishing touches to squad.
Keeper
Centre half
A strong fast direct winger
Forward

10.) 14 Jan 2019 16:07:02
A lot of fans were unhappy when Karanka came in. MON has a great record at club level and been told he jumped ahead of other candidates due to his huge passion for the club and desire to see the club get promotion. We certainly should give him a chance and respect for his record and his amazing history with our club, let’s hope it works out.

11.) 14 Jan 2019 18:33:43
a year ago we would have been really happy in getting MON in as out manager. it didn't end well at ROI but was never going to in the long run. He has a good club record and he loves our club so I'm happy it's him and want us to have some consistency that we have been missing. if Keane comes to then another person who cares for the club and although he can be an idiot at times maybe he is the one to pull people in line. Come on you reds.

One of those days today when the relative league positions of both clubs were clear for all to see.

Nobody disgraced themselves or had an appalling game but for the most part we were left chasing shadows all over the pitch and but for some pretty miserable finishing from Morata (60 million!) the score would have been at least four if not more.

Steele certainly distinguished himself and appeared less flustered than Pantilimon can get and his distribution was much better.for sure.

I have to admit that it was at times a pleasure to watch the way that Chelsea passed and probed away and I hope that some day soon I can see us playing in a similar way .

For me personally a good day out with some excellent skill on show and a battling effort laden display from us.

Beaten but unbowed and as always . . .

A really well fought and well deserved three points today against a side who played some really attractive passing football but made two disastrous errors with the straight red ( no doubts for me ) and the crazy back pass for Colbacks well taken first goal .

Leeds looked well capable of coming back into it until the red card and at half time all looked pretty good .

Defensive frailties again pretty much gifted them a couple of goals but we continued to press and push and after Colbacks second I personally thought we would go on to win.

Mention for Murphy who ran his guts out today in a manner I didn't think he was capable of and an outrageous 4th from Osborn was the cherry on top.

Would things have been different if the red card wasnt shown ?. Almost certainly they would but it was and that's the way that the game is played.

I thought we looked better moving Yacob across and leaving Robinson in position and for a change all 3 substitutions made sense to me.

All in all a good day today and talk of managers' windows, comings and goings can wait for a day whilst I bathe in the afterglow of turning over the dirties.

As always . . .

Back to winning ways yesterday in a game played in pretty awful conditions with driving rain and gusty winds but on reflection a game that was if not won at a canter then bar the last five or so frantic minutes certainly a result that was never really in doubt with Kenilworth Road not exactly a fortress this season.

The most perplexing part of the afternoon came for me before the game kicked off with a very vociferous chanting of Carvalhos name which is not something I can recall offhand for a player not even in the starting line up and whilst I concede that for many the jury is still out I have to say that from my part I honestly cannot see what he has done to warrant such adulation from so many obviously committed fans .

However to the game itself with Luton having by far the greater share of the ball as they did for pretty well the whole game but to be blunt they appeared to be pretty short of ideas as to what to do with it with little in the way of creativity or threat to our goal whilst we would soak up the pressure and look to score on the break with Grabban spurning two golden opportunities with one in particular looking harder to miss than to score but when the inevitable did happen it was probably the hardest of the three chances he had but was taken with great skill and precision.

Very much as case of as you were in the second half and whilst not exactly knocking on the door we were well deserving of a second goal courtesy of a wicked deflection from Ameobis effort.
In fairness to Luton they continued to have lots of the ball and possibly their best hope was getting the ball out to the wide left where Cash was given a torrid time throughout really but was fortunately ably supported by others .

We may well have been guilty of sitting a little too deep for the last 5 minutes or so and invited perhaps a little too much pressure we saw us concede late on but when the dust settled it was a fair result which no one could dispute and several Luton fans I spoke with were in agreement and very gracious in defeat.

Samba provided us with a curates egg when he dropped a cross for once but Worrall was on hand to clear up and the keeper really had a fairly easy day for the most part.
Ribiero must have taken great strides yesterday to claim the shirt with an excellent performance in both offensive and defensive capabilities and gives his all for the cause .
As I said earlier Cash was given a stern test at right back and for the most part came off second best but it is a credit to the side that he was usually being supported in his endeavours.
Worrall must surely now have convinced most of his doubters ( me for one ) as he produced another solid performance alongside Figuerido who proved an able partner particularly in his aerial ability ( Oh to be able to transplant Chemas feet on to his body )
Yates first full game was a personal triumph for him and the team and his tenacity in midfield was much appreciated which for me clearly rubbed off on Watson in a way similar to his partnership with Sow and it is to be hoped this will blossom in future games.
Silva had as good a game as for a while battling for the ball and played it around nicely and at times with good effect proving a constant thorn in Lutons side with Ameobi again, particularly in the first half, looking threatening at times out wide and his performance was capped off with a goal albeit a lucky one.
Grabban was arguably man of the match yesterday and he continues to look a threat whenever he has the ball pretty well anywhere on the pitch with his non stop movement and running into space and on another day could well have taken the match ball home .
Lolley for my money continues to struggle and its apparent in his demeanour that he is feeling it too. There is no lack of effort or commitment in what he does but right now pretty well nothing is going right for him but the conundrum is do you rest a potential match winner or play him in the hope he will find his form. Either way Mr Lamouchi will have his critics and it will be an unenviable decision to make.
So wobble over and back into the play offs with Derby up next in a league which continues to surprise and at times confound and I maintain new are as well placed as anyone to go on and at least make the play offs with a third of the season behind us.

So see 27000 of you on Saturday and

Agree with u and we should of had 1 if not 2 handballs an Carvalho reminds me of Ozil we know he’s got talent but it’s his work rate and his stamp on the games that are lacklustre, every time he’s not interested it’s like we playing with 10, think we all want him to succeed as he cost us 13.5m but we will see.

2.) 03 Nov 2019 15:47:49
Good point arran re handballs.
I am not a great one for moaning too much about the officials as its a pretty thankless task most of the time but we are well overdue a penalty or two with a lot of decisions not going our way.
Hopefully they will be like buses when it happens and Saturday would be an ideal day for it.

3.) 03 Nov 2019 16:19:47
Creepy, fair point. It’s adulation previously served to greats like Pearce, Collymore etc . It’s a bit weird. On the other hand Saturday brings a golden opportunity to earn his hero status - hope he takes it if he plays .

4.) 03 Nov 2019 17:51:30
Does being honest mean being negative ?
The honest thing to do is to say yes we,ve made a mistake and put it tight as quick as possible and not kep trying to flog a dead horse which will,in the end prove detrimental.
CARLO

5.) 03 Nov 2019 19:18:50
No it doesn't carlo, but I liken cavs to maj and he had one good season out of him but always had mistakes in him, they are luxury players that can turn a game or just become passengers, cabs is out of form as is bostock, nothing can be done other than for them to work hard in training on their game.
Let's hope the coach can work some magic and find a formula for him to succeed, but he has plenty of options once the injuries clear up and just got to trust Lamouchi to get it right.

6.) 03 Nov 2019 19:37:15
Very difficult to argue with what you say at the moment Carlo and surely the clock must be ticking for someone above our pay grade to make a call om him.

7.) 03 Nov 2019 19:32:56
Nothing wrong in singing positive songs for our players? Far too many just looking for a whipping boy when things do not go as they expect!

8.) 03 Nov 2019 20:49:49
Agree with you red the best start in years but still so much negative response, we aren't going to play teams off the park, we are a counter attacking side that will allow sides possession but hurt them fast, our injuries dictated we play different personnel especially in midfield and they aren't like for like, buts that all Lamouchi had to pick from against hull and Wigan.
I'm mega confident we will get there this season and Yates coming in and doing sows job has helped losing sow and sow no need to rush sow back sow soon😁😁😁.

9.) 03 Nov 2019 20:58:20
Just gave you a thumbs up creepy for your excellent summing up.
Always the realist 👍.

20 Oct 2019 21:23:23
At first glance the number of changes and apparent change of formation was I suspect to most of us a little perplexing but that said most everything that Mr Lamouchi has done this season has by and large paid off so why would today be any different I asked myself.

Unfortunately for the first time this season within 10 minutes of the kick off it became clear to I would think a vast majority of the travelling support that things just looked and felt plain wrong.
The cohesion and calmness of the past few games just didn’t seem to be there and the first 30 minutes or so the football from both sides could best be described, perhaps generously, as pretty bang average with both teams not really creating any meaningful threat at all and it was, not for the first time perhaps, hard to see where a goal was coming from.
As is often the case in games like this the goal came from a defensive error with Worrall coming out of position and making a clumsy challenge which unfortunately also saw him take Robinson out of the equation in his follow through leaving us with a 4 on 2 situation and some nice passing saw us go one down.
This seemed to spark some life into Wigan who pressed us for the remainder of the half without seriously threatening Sambas goal.
The only surprising thing about the introduction of Grabban and Silva for Mir and Bostock was that it didn’t happen at the break and it took ten more minutes of laboured football until it did.
It would be an exaggeration to say that the introduction of these two turned the game on its head but we immediately looked sharper and more tuned in than before with the two aforementioned subs actually stamping SOME authority on the game which became more open as we chased an equaliser allowing Wigan decent opportunities which were very well dealt with by Samba who continues to impress with the passing of every game.
A penalty shout involving Ribiero was turned down at the opposite end of the ground which I have yet to view on TV replay ( its irrelevant anyway ) but to be brutally honest it always looked like ending as it did.
From my perspective I have no complaints at the result and good luck to Wigan but there was a frustrating sense of what might have been but the cold truth is we pretty well got out of the game what we deserved.
As I alluded to earlier Samba must surely be the best keeper in the Championship at the moment and cannot be faulted in any way for the goal today.
In previous posts I have said that to me we look a better side with Robinson at left back but his performances of late have quite simply not been up to scratch and today was another one. He was unlucky to be clattered by Worralls follow through today but that said it may be that Ribiero is a better bet but in a more forward position today Ribiero did at times find some space but his final touch/ pass let him down.
Worralls performances of late have been outstanding which will always magnify a glaring error of the kind he made today which I think may well have preyed on his mind for the remainder of the game but I am sure it is something which will be quickly forgotten .
Figuerido may perhaps have been able to do more to prevent the cross leading to the goal and was caught out a couple of times with balls over the top and looked deciidedly rusty.

Cash was arguably the most consistent player over the 90 minutes with a couple of decent runs into the box but his final delivery needs to improve whilst his defensive duties seem to be holding up really well.
Certainly until the introduction of Grabban and Silva our best attacking option was Ameobi who continued to put in the yards and effort playing a virtual lone hand in the first half with Lolley continuing his struggles to recapture the form of last season and having another of those games with nothing going right for him at all.
Watson at times looked all at sea for the first time in an age and clearly missed the presence of Sow alongside him with Bostock having a truly awful game ( although a through ball from him should have seen Mir at the very least hit the target ) and looked devoid of any ideas at all .
That said I would hazard a guess that most of us would have thought Bostock to be the name on the sheet to replace Sow but today is a day he will want to forget as will Mir.
He does not at the moment look to be the part at all and seems to want the ball to be played to him with no real effort on his part to find his own space and chase the ball down which we have of late been used to seeing Grabban do and his introduction with Silva made an immediate impression.
The manager said he had one eye on the next games coming up in a short space of time so not to start Grabban may be understandable but highlights the issue we have on the striker front which we all know will at some point have to be addressed .
Carvalhos introduction for the last 20 minutes was quite frankly a miserable affair but I am not sure that he was suited to the situation today and possibly Adomah would have been a better option with us chasing the game but hindsight is a wonderful thing however Carvalho did nothing today to silence his critics ( myself included ) but no player can be judged on that and a dreadful 20 minutes will not sway the jury either way.
This is a long season and his time to come to the party may yet come.
All good things must come to an end and with two decidedly winnable home games to come I am sure we will consolidate our place in the table and get back to winning ways this coming week and put ( contrary to Mr Lamouchis opinion ) what I thought our worst performance this season behind us.
Thanks for reading if you got this far and
As always

Got to agree creepy seen bostock twice now and not impressed at all. passes going astray and playing backwards and walking around.
He was the biggest problem for me as Ben Watson was then trying to be the playmaker, which he isn't, this caused us to play too many long balls and lolley and reberio cudnt get a run at their full backs and get past.
Cash did more than the wingers in getting crosses in and ameobi while running his socks off had to do lolleys job as well at times.
Personally think that picking mir and bostock cost us the game they just don't fit in the team, but to be fair to them they are rusty from not playing, but it's not a time for carrying passengers and bostock and mir were passengers today.

Perhaps a little churlish of me with the ways things are going at the moment but it was a little disappointing there was no formal recognition of Peter Taylor yesterday.
I had e mailed the club regarding this with no reply but as I have said before its to be hoped that the new Main Stand will be a fitting memorial to the man without whom those glory years would never have happened.

Coming on the heels of two excellent home performances today was possibly a bit of a reality check as to what life in this league is more likely to be about from a Preston side who came with a clear game plan and certainly for the first half basically smothered us and gave no opportunity for the quick movement and crisp passing we have seen before.

In all honesty we did not exactly help our own cause with at times some very sloppy play, wayward passing and wrong decsions being made by players in possession.

Jenkinson and Robinson had a pretty torrid time of it with Ameobi and Lolley being called upon to do a lot of tracking back to help out leaving us at times with no real outball at all.

Silva and Semedo in particular also struggled throughout the first half wuth Preston offering little time on the ball and for me it was only Watson who seemed to be shoring things up in that first half.

Dawson and Worrall, whilst doing nothing wrong, did not look as dominating as they have been previously in a pretty lacklustre first half which saw us go in only one down perhaps courtesy of good work by Samba who seems to be rapidly cementing his place as first choice.

The introduction of Sow for Semedo once again bolstered things up in the midfield and whilst we rarely looked threatening Grabban became more involved out wide looking for the ball which is perhaps not ideal for a lone striker but the effort was to me apparent and a difference to the first half.

A game that was looking like drifting to a defeat was changed by the introduction of Adomah who seized on our only real opportunity in the game to snatch the equaliser following decent work from Carvalho and it was from Adomah that any thing half decent we did for the remainder of the game came from.

I don't think that Preston are the only team we will see at the City ground this season adopting the same tactic and in truth we will have to find a way of overcoming this kind of spoiling attitude which whilst perfectly legitamate makes for pretty tough watching .

For me both Sow and Adomah would be regular starters as whenever they come on they inevitably make a difference and things happen but as is often said there are 46 games to be played in a season and roation may be key.

So August comes to a close with us 10th on 9 pts and for me a decent start to a season that as usual for us had a pretty traumatic start to it.
Mr Lamouchi has made his choices and cast the remaing players into the wilderness and does for the most part seem to have a system and a plan to work to which is in itself a pretty solid platform.

Next stop is Welsh Wales against Swansea who are flying right now and will be another stern test so see you there and

Think every game will be a test this season that's why last season was a waste would of been our best chance last season of getting up but realistically creepy next season with the same manager and team we can only get better.

2.) 31 Aug 2019 20:38:07
Creepy we delt Fulham the same deal last week and we don't complain, what the difference is we don't like it when sides do it to us on our own patch?
Didn't like the antics of their no 4 but thought they thoroughly deserved their half time lead and as you know when you go a goal up away you try to hold onto it
Its early days but so far we are a side that is suited to counter attack and when you play the likes of Preston it's about taking the game to them at home?
We couldn't do that today but did a better job second half with sow dictating play, a point gained for me and a strong learning curve for Lamouchi in seeing what teams will do on our patch.
Lamouchi has done well so far and exceeded my expectations from the opening fixtures, so well done to him and got two weeks to work more of his magic on the players, as you can see they are buying into his ways.

3.) 31 Aug 2019 21:37:51
Quite agree with all that ff.
Most certainly a case of the boot being on the other foot today compared to Fulham.
We do look harder to beat at the moment but this may seem a little odd considering we put 6 in over two games I still think we are lightweight up front insofar as Grabban is to me simply not a lone striker and thrives on what others can supply.

Its far from a stellar start but bearing in mind who we have played its been a decent enough one.

4.) 31 Aug 2019 21:38:50
Three very good posts boys. 💪.

5.) 31 Aug 2019 21:47:38
Will be there creepy always a good day out to Swansea albeit a long one.
Last season we played em off the park and got a point this season I expect us to defend and hit them on the break?
Quietly confident we will get a result there .

6.) 31 Aug 2019 22:19:27
Creepy I agree mate but the sides we got results against play football and suits our play of soaking it up and then hitting them fast and hard, Preston just played and controlled the first half and both semedo and Silva were easily bypassed, we have to play a different game against some sides because they enjoy coming here to a big crowd and showing their metal.
Like I've said Lamouchi has impressed me so far and with carvalho now fit he has a new dimension attack wise.
Lamouchi has said we are looking at the free agent market at the moment which doesn't suprise me.
We are no different from most sides in playing one up top and I thought grabbon did a great job today with very poor service, mir doesn't do it for me as Walker is better and scored two today,
When we talk about grabban not being a lone striker I think we are saying he struggles to hold the ball up?
That being the case the problem is easily remedied by not play long high balls to him, its not his game and it's not most goalscoring forwards game.
The goals he scored against Fulham showed his game, neat one touch football and a brain to make the run and finish it.
Two up won't help the team but think about it it's actually three up at times when lolley and uncle Albert join in?
