Shay Given looking to join a championship club to extend his career at the age of 41
Not saying we are even interested but surly his experience would make it worth trying for him?

1.) 11 Oct 2017 13:28:40
At 41, I'd say he's too old now, and would rather see one of our many goalkeepers given a go. I also have to say you can see the progress Smith is making each game, so would be happy to stick with him. It's the four people in front of Smith that are causing us problems!

2.) 11 Oct 2017 15:45:33
A quiet, 'stay at home' goalkeeper is 50% of the problem with any defence.

A keeper that gives a defence direction and confidence is worth their weight in gold.

For example, as goalkeepers Paul Smith and Lee Camp were of similar ability but as soon as Camp came in, Morgan and Wilson actually started to look like defenders! No coincidence!! (I'm not saying I've have Campy back though)

3.) 12 Oct 2017 14:05:03
My moneys been on Given since the window closed if Smithy gets the wobbles over the next few weeks.

However he does seem to be stepping up to the plate and if we can get our best defenders on the pitch the goals against will reduce.

Main priority is a new centre back and to sort out the right back/midfield berths as the current combos do not work.

I think we would be a much more solid team with Lichaj and Ward playing on the right?

4.) 12 Oct 2017 19:55:49
I'm with Trickster on this hence the post
Smith has stepped up but too quiet for me
He needs to be vocal and rollock the back 4

5.) 12 Oct 2017 21:29:37
Won't make any odds while you've got darikwa at right back, lads a liabilty.
Smith's getting better with every game, can't st the same for darikwa.

30 Jul 2017 12:51:14
Evening post reporting that MW is close to two more signings before Fridays game, one a midfielder and one a loan from a premiership club but no positions mentioned?
Still interested in Kevin McDonald according to the report.

1.) 30 Jul 2017 14:03:07
Centre mid and goalkeeper 👍.

21 Jul 2017 13:10:08
West Brom are considering a move for Joe Worrell
Hope we keep him as he is a talent of the future.

1.) 21 Jul 2017 14:44:39
That's old news Red dog that rumour around last season.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 15:15:37
Is that relevant 79?

3.) 21 Jul 2017 16:41:12
They can't be interested in him 2 season on the trott surley I mean that would be ridiculous.

20 Jul 2017 23:02:14
Looks like Murphey deal is nearly there on a 3 year deal
I for one think he will be a really good signing and an improvement on Britt.

1.) 20 Jul 2017 23:11:19
I wouldn't say he's an improvement on Britt however he will bring bags of experience at this level which can only be a good thing for the other strikers in the squad as he can help improve them but not only is he an experienced striker he has a voice and won't be afraid to speak up in the dressing room. I think he will be more beneficial than Britt in terms of impact on squad but isn't as good a striker imo.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 23:55:44
Can't see it being a 3 year deal he's 34 now I read it was going to be a 2 year deal.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 06:20:40
Defiantly not an improvement nowhere near an improvement and the contract length seems ridiculous to me. think he will do well here, the reaction from newcastkesm fans tells you all you need to know. not like our fans slagging Britt off they actually wish him well and thanked him.

4.) 21 Jul 2017 07:36:12
There's a few fans that wished Britt well and it's rare to say Newcastle fans are classy but on this occasion they are.

5.) 21 Jul 2017 08:18:37
Apparently it is a 3 year contract but he as a player could demand that because there was a lot of other clubs interested in him. Let's hope he scores 20+ goals this season and we've picked ourselves a bargain.

6.) 21 Jul 2017 10:01:39
Apples and oranges. Can't compare the two.
Britt is a goal scorer on his way back to fitness, Murphy is an experienced Championship old fashioned striker we've brought in to do a specific job. He's coming to add something the young lads don't have right now.

7.) 21 Jul 2017 10:38:33
Your bang on the money Binns which is why my opinion is Murphey is a step up
I honestly can't see Britt going a full season with his injury background
I know Murphy has Had niggles but is a strong player and if he bags more than 14 it's a step up for me.

8.) 21 Jul 2017 10:57:20
Murphy can teach the younger strikers a lot and is very popular with fans and in dressing I hear from everyone atNewcastle and Ipswich. He is a very solid and safe signing and he will be a good influence and score.
I would prefer 2m on him than 6-10m on an unproven younger striker or someone a few years younger with average to poor record like Jerome or Grabban etc
We have 3/ 4 potential younger goal scorers but now in Murphy a solid striker who knows this league and is a team player.
This deal also leaves us with a good amount of Britt money left to spend on midfield and defence.

25 Feb 2017 20:53:39
I would have liked to see McCormack start over Britt today
I know Brits our number 9 but he's poor when it's not laid on a plate for him
He needs to work much harder and I think if we had started with Ross we could have took something from today's game
Come on Britt, pick up the pace.

1.) 25 Feb 2017 21:14:58
Like a lot of posters are saying players need to be played in there best positions, when played our so called quality players need to step up to the mark.

2.) 25 Feb 2017 21:53:40
We've never had the midfield to supply 2 out and out strikers. Really not sure what GB is thinking leaving McCormack out. Then compounding it by not playing Clough in the middle.

We've missed what these players for so long, yet we go into a massive 3 pointer without both quality options in the middle of the park.

If plan A wasn't bad enough, plan B with Vellios holding the ball up the pitch not happening was a shame. Brazil needs to realise it ain't all firepower upfront, particularly without any service.

First signs today that Brazil is struggling to best utilise the decent players he has at his disposal.

Going to the wire.

3.) 26 Feb 2017 00:49:52
Agree big 3 points missed today but it does make laugh when people say we should of played this player instead of that player and he should play here and there. It was only when we played Sheffield Wednesday that people were moaning that mccormack should of been on the bench and britt should of started and now it's the other way round it doesn't matter which one of are strikers plays we are never going to score when our midfield is so weak and can't create any chance for the strikers.

4.) 26 Feb 2017 07:26:46
Clough should play in the advanced midfield role. Assambolonga seems like he is not mobile enough, is he overweight? Is he just not the same player after his injury? Who knows. Just need to play people in there natural position, why is Ariyibi not playing? He is a fast winger, him, Clough and Brereton with there pace would be good.

Warburton wants us to keep believing?
Believing in the tooth fairy or Santa would be easier with these team selections Mr W
It's not working is it?

23 Sep 2017 22:15:03
Warburton hasn't got a clue.

1.) 23 Sep 2017 23:18:35
You would not be saying that if he had the Leeds squad which has the key players we are missing in the spine of the team!

2.) 23 Sep 2017 23:20:00
Is it in the "bread bin"?😂😂😂😂

3.) 23 Sep 2017 23:56:31
Like I've said get use to it he's going to be round a long time and you can moan all you like at our owner about him this one won't listen and won't reply on Twitter neither lol come on mw coyrsss

4.) 24 Sep 2017 05:49:16
we wouldn't would we.but mw decided to bring in lower quality players.rather than a few good quality players. its sunday morning. go and watch some sunday league games this morning. better than the crap forest churn out week in week out.

5.) 24 Sep 2017 06:37:53
Blidredd lower quality players lol I think you might be best to sticking to your xbox mate and carry on with your fantasy football because you don't live in the real world 😀

{Ed001's Note - see, there we go again, nothing but insults to anyone with a different opinion but no actual counter. You are beginning to turn into a troll.}

6.) 24 Sep 2017 06:54:45
Lol ed bully troll have you actually got something against mw yourself fine ed just for you I will not comment back to anyone else's post

{Ed001's Note - I certainly have nothing against your current set up mate, McParland is someone I have known for a long time, not as in we are mates or anything like, but I would love to see him do well for you. It is just that you just have a dig, rather than rebut their points. I just wonder why you don't empathise with people who do not like the style of football. Surely you should understand, as you got pelters for a similar thing with Freedman.}

27 Jul 2017 15:14:51
We have signed Bouchalakis on a 3 year deal.

1.) 27 Jul 2017 16:19:50
I'm happy with that signing - looks good 😊.

21 Oct 2016 12:35:00
Fawaz has written an open letter to us supporters which you can read on the Nottingham Forest rumours 24/7 site. I believe he brought us with good intentions but unfortunately he does not have the knowledge or experience and is reluctant to let the ones that do get on with it without meddling He states he is selling 100% 🖒.

1.) 21 Oct 2016 12:45:12
I don't believe a word he as said lie after lie for 5 years and all of a sudden he wants us to believe what he's wrote down on a letter ha ha comes to mind cry wolf 😆.

2.) 21 Oct 2016 13:12:56
Have to agree with Skegs. If he'd put it on the Official NFFC site it would have been better received. No verification on a rumours site means to me it's suspicious to say the least. The story on the Current Bun doesn't really add much to the rumour situation. Above all we need an owner who we feel we can trust - and that's a rarity, Al Fayed at Fulham was one such, but there doesn't seem to be many around. Only when FAH goes completely with no strings attached will a lot of us feel relieved.

3.) 21 Oct 2016 13:22:14
Sorry, the letter was on the Official site, my apologies. However the letter tells us very little we don't already know and we have no evidence that what is outlined will actually happen. Judgement reserved - "Actions speak louder than words".

4.) 21 Oct 2016 14:07:58
Dunno about that Bsered mate. did you see the dodgy Jacko statue outside their ground! 😂😂😂.

5.) 21 Oct 2016 14:28:43
Lol rogie but seriously you telling me that he would get the best deal to suit nottingham forest so if there was 2 buyers one a pratt that is going to offer him 10 million more than the other one who as forest best interest at heart he would pick the latter come on how stupid do u think us fans are.

6.) 21 Oct 2016 14:51:02
True Skeggs. just hope we get a big crowd and win tomorrow! Daughters 17th tomorrow. loads of awkward teenagers 🤔🤔🤔. anyway I'll take myself off somewhere quite in the house and listen to the match on Forest HD! 👍👍👍.

7.) 21 Oct 2016 15:07:38
Sounds good to me rogie make sure you confiscate all the beer they try and smuggle in and take them to the room with you lol hoping for a win and hoping to get back from work in time to watch a win would be great.

8.) 21 Oct 2016 15:48:57
Yes Skeggs. definitely have to take it off them all in the name of Health and Safety! 😋😋😋.

10 Aug 2016 10:39:32
Norwich have supposedly submitted an improved bid of 7 mill for Britt
We need to support him not get rid of him.

1.) 10 Aug 2016 11:24:25
£7m is a poor offer if true. Obviously I'd rather keep Britt but if he's going to go you want at least £10-12m.

2.) 10 Aug 2016 12:11:35
Personally I wouldn't sell, but realise everyone has a price for me I wouldn't sell for a penny less than 15 million people may scoff but in today's crazy market goal scorers cost a premium and that is what Britt does best! !

3.) 10 Aug 2016 12:39:06
Britt is worth his weight in gold in this league. to sell him would be so detrimental to our chances of getting anywhere near the top 6 this season. and 7m is a joke. we paid 6m for him with a sell on clause so we would be losing money.

4.) 10 Aug 2016 13:21:44
If Britt was worth his weight in gold, he'd be worth around £2,638,692. Your under valuing him massively.

5.) 10 Aug 2016 14:04:18
Whether money is needed or not britt cannot be sold. He is our man. Simple find other ways of finance.

Yes give him more time to buy more didi men from Scotland who can play attractive football in the centre of the field but struggle with the EFL physical game?
Surly the board must be concerned about giving him money to spend?

Britt left in the summer because he wanted to go but we kept hold of the youth
We will end up selling some but Fawaz has gone so the quick buck mentality should have gone too
Move forward Murdoch, that's what the club is trying to do and Eric is a player that can help us do that

Why do people keep bringing top premiership managers in to it?
They play their "systems" and if it does not work they spend 50 million on a new player to fit into that system until it works
We are Forest not man u or city
We can't keep buying and buying, if the system does not work we need to change the system to suit what we have and that is where we are failing
No plan B
