So me n the lad we're driving home today, getting excited about the new season and ending up singing Forest songs.
Out of nowhere I started singing 'theres a tavern in the town' I'd almost forgotten it til today but soon remembered what a class chant it was!
I'd love it this season for the sheep to bomb (standard lol!) and this tune would fit a treat!
Can anyone else remember it? I'm talking late 80's stood in the owd Trent End. Steve mclaren swaps perfect with Arthur Cox n'all! Lol
Probably obvious edski but I'm totally buzzing about this coming season! :-)
Anybody know the latest score from Portugal is too please?

Hmm
I dunno BSR- I get what you're sayin like but the vast majority of SP's starting XI are new players brought in by the current gaffer.
Now shoot me at will BUT psycho at the helm or not I'd be pushing for more time here- he's had 5, 6 months in the job and let's face it everything needed changing not just playing staff.
Add to that the fact that if we started average, had a poor spell then picked up around now nobody would even be talking about a new gaffer?!?
The perfect start is almost what's causing this now because everyone expected it to carry on all season- only it can't it's not realistic!!
Do we really think ANY NEW GAFFER could turn it around?? It's crazy we need time to build and grow not yet ANOTHER change- time and a slow building process are what gets ALL clubs promoted not chopping n changing!!
Let's keep getting behind um eh fellow red dogs?!? We've kept the faith this long!!

Too right captain! I thought he (& his mate the "terrorist"- only thing he terrorised were the pigeons roosting above Colwick road end!) was going to be a really good signing but Lord knows how and why it went belly up?
I can only assume that cultural differences conspired against him. I'm not talking a grasp of English and lifestyle but more footballing culture- maybe he CBA'd training properly and we could all see he wouldn't work hard enough during matches ie no back tracking etc. no getting in faces or throwing himself into blocks and tackles.
Whatever the problem (s) were the fault HAS to be with him- to a man each new signing has said how welcome they're made to feel etc then again maybe most don't walk in givin it the big I am.
We'll never know fully I guess but one thing I do know is every player that moves on I wish luck to but not him and his mate I'm afraid- what I'd give to pull on that famous garibaldi so I'm sorry if you care not for OUR club, Nottingham Forest, then don't let the door hit your ass!
See ya!

We've had good starts before and it does feel different this season- as though it's our time.
I have a couple of concerns though.
1) whether we win promotion or not (I believe we will as I say this is our time)
Darlow leaving is going to be a massive, massive loss- how do we replace that?
I've not seen as good a keeper since Steve Sutton.
We need to pull the plug on it somehow I've no idea how but we just do! Lol
2) How will Fawaz react when our bad patch comes along (& let's face it we probably will hit one- most teams do) he can be a little impatient from what we've/I've seen? We need to ride out any drops in form lest we'll lose our best shot at going up and staying up.
We have everything in place, real stability and we need to keep our eyes on the prize

Jesus UTF & C! Bit harsh on those last few posters?!? Lol All they were saying was an ex red (well kind of- never seemed like he quite knew/understood what playing for Forest is all about) scored yet couldn't for us?
He got a few in preseason though eh? Who does care though? It's like the best panini swap ever- cox and
Mackie for Fryatt and Britt!
No brainer at all!
Psycho really does know the game inside out doesn't he? He and his team/back room staff seem to know players home and abroad like no others I mean who'd heard of Tesche before signing? & on a free too if memory serves? 1. 5 Euros (a complete steal as we're seeing) for Mancienne, Lansbury signed extension, Burkey for nowt n'all? Now they're connections- the scouting, the fees, the quality just the best signings in years if not ever for a whole crop of players AND they've all settled in from the off- compare that to Mr Djebbour the farce of the medical, not settling, not interacting, not even playing. well SOD any that don't want to be a part of this.
this is our time boys this is our time

I'd recommend if you guys haven't already to have a read of the U-21's win over Wednesday from Middle of last week- the side we put out was immense and our second string was as good as many other clubs first XI!
In fact the next day Pearce said he's happy with our strength in depth- we have cover for every position and we're not talking Brian Rice here there were ex Barca academy players, internationals, champs league players I don't think even that, if everyone stays fit, we'll need to add all that much to stay in the prem I really don't.

We watched the highlights of yesterday's match this morning and I noticed my boy was crying. turns out he was crying over Darlow going next season I mean the boy's 6 years old and he spluttered out through his tears "what will we do though dad? We're not going to get a better keeper than him in are we?" 6, Forest through and through and he's dead right about this one- it IS a worry.
I reckon (whether a get punished or whatever) there must be a way round it - Darlow doesn't want to leave and the loss of such a pivotal player during pre season of our first term back in the prem after God knows how long really could all be scuppered by the loss of our keeper.
Answers on a post card please- he's that good I've had a fiver on him representing England one day- academy products like him don't grow on trees and I think his sale ten times more than JL's sale is short sighted and possibly very detrimental, destructive even of our stability and improvement.
We've built from the back only to take away the supportive, bottom brick that holds the rest of the defence and therefore the whole team.
I don't think I would've cried but his point is so so true how do you replace that?
Go on Fawaz rip up the contract of sale and tell them to bite you! lol
