There's been a lot of talk of people wanting NC. Derby fans were desperate for him to get the sack as they were a club going absolutely nowhere fast. McClaren came in and they instantly turned into a team challenging for promotion - please do not say this is him simply reaping the rewards of years of hard work from NC as this is laughable. SU fans have also voiced their unhappiness at Clough and aren't big fans of his, plus they are comfortably the biggest side in League 1 and should be outperforming the other clubs there. Like us, Leeds, Wolves and others, they should have the resources to get themselves back into the Championship in next to no time at all! Even if Clough wanted to manage us (which he clearly doesn't) it would be an atrocious appointment. He's a man who's relied on his name for too long, similar situation to SP, had he been a smaller name/regarded in a lower nature at Derby then he would have been gone long before he actually got the chop.

1.) This was supposed to be a reply to another post but the point still stands!

Maybe he and Sheff Utd just been extra lucky for the past 2 seasons in cup comps? As for extra resource I think you'll find they don't have any hence NC being appointed. Has any fan at Forest ever wondered why managers and players turn us down so often. In all of my years supporting us I have never seen so many fans slagging off people before they even get close.

3.) Spot on there, very fickle fans. I've never heard so much moaning and groaning in Trent End. I miss the old terrace there, real banter and a great atmosphere. I just think that our expectations have a negative effect and it rubs off. We need patience and to back the team when it's not all rosy

4.) I'm sure they love playing in League 1 and performing in the cup. Ask any of their fans who have seen them in the PL not long ago and ask them what they want! He also failed to get Burton out of the conference for nearly a decade - how can you suggest he is the man to solve this issue?
There are a fair number of managers that I would rather have ahead of a manager seemingly incapable of achieving promotion with sides more than equipped to do just this!
I don't disagree with your stance on SP nick but some of your alternatives are also definitely not the way to go!

5.) Yes he left Burton top of the league but this was a long time in coming. Also sheff utd have the highest wage bill in League 1. Terrible resources even if they are having to trim it slightly with the fact that they cannot get out of the league! Suppose it is lucky that they have had some good cup runs!

6.) Fickle fans is a hilarious way to put it. People are perfectly entitled to their own opinion - and despite being on the other side of the world, currently in NZ I am doing all I can to follow the mighty reds. Whatever happens I will continue to follow Forest and am trying to attend most home games when back despite being larger penny less!
Everyone would love for SP to be successful in this job however most are simply being realistic having followed his managerial career in suggesting it's unlikely! I'd love to be proved wrong!
People suggesting others are fickle for having an opinion and voicing it when the team have won twice in 20 games and have gone crashing out the cup to a League 1 side as well as being slap bang in relagation form is a joke!
All these fans would clearly love Pearce to turn it around, myself included and I shall continue to support and back Forest no matter what but blind loyalty can only take you so far. It's disappointing that people think others aren't "real" fans simply because they are voicing their concerns and are suggesting that the club are heading in the wrong direction! All fans want the same thing realistically!

Think you need to read the response mate and get down off your high horse. At no point did I suggest NC was the right man for me or NFFC. As for Sheff U and prem league, are you 1 of our deluded fans that still thinks we are 1 even after 13 years?

8.) On the basis that for the majority of my years on this planet we have been in either the Championship or League 1 I don't think we're a PL club no - I have no high horse am merely stating the opinion of fans of other clubs and prior occurrences. I believe we need stability and a long term plan in order for us to move forward, I don't mind how long it takes as stated before but believe that it needs to be the right person to be given that time and stability necessary and would question whether SP is that person!

9.) My point with SU is that if you suggest that they're cup runs make them a successful club then I doubt their fans would agree with them having been in the PL in the not too distant past

10.) Also I don't think there is a manager out there currently who is perfect and most probably wouldn't come to us currently for a number of reasons so yes I think it is a bit of a mess and would love SP to turn it around. Will continue to support no matter what so think some of your suggestions as to what I'm like are wide of the mark

Seems hugely unbelievable as well as vague - any more managers you fancy listing?
We also have 3 games between the Derby match and playing Wigan (at home), I presume you meant Fulham?!

I agree with what's being said by Cjay and nick26. Hypothetical question for you guys (and anyone else): if Fawaz were to pull the trigger on SP right now - who would you want to replace him? I know who I believe to be one of the only viable options but would be interested to see if you agree on that!
