We may never know what happened between Fawaz and Moores and as frustrating as it is, does it really matter? If the deal happens later then so be it, but for now we have a strengthened squad, players playing in their correct positions, two important home wins and clean sheets on the bounce and some growing confidence.

As for getting in a decent manager, which some have suggested, we've had so called decent managers in recent times that have failed. Let's give Gaz and Jack a shot at this unhindered by rumours of a new manager coming in and see where it takes us.

Personally, I think Fawaz should come out now and publicly state that they have the job until the end of this season with the option to carry on next season if things go well.

The only thing that bothers me about Gary and Jack having the job permanently is the youth team set up; who would manage them?

2.) 03 Feb 2017 19:28:32
That's a valid point RedinDonny, but if they do a great job with the first team should we move them back to the youngsters and sacrifice success with the first team? A tough call.

3.) 03 Feb 2017 20:11:07
A tough call really? A bit of a no brainier more like.

4.) 04 Feb 2017 09:46:53
There are many great youth team coaches out there who could still do a great job with the youngsters.

5.) 04 Feb 2017 21:58:15
GB needs to be made Director of Football so we maintain the link between academy and first team. He clearly has an eye for a player and has established a way of playing to bring the best out of youngsters long term.

First team coach is always going to be a short term appointment for most clubs and we cannot afford to lose him and his team!

Worldsoccertalk.com has reported the following.

Greek champions Olympiakos released interim coach Takis Lemonis on Thursday with media reports expected to announce the hiring of Spanish coach Oscar Garcia.

“Takis Lemonis took over the team in special circumstances and we thank him for his services,” said Olympiakos who added that he will be offered another post at the club.

Lemonis, 58, was hired for the fourth time by Olympiakos in September following the sacking of Albanian Besnik Hasi.

He led the Piraeus club to the top of the table after also guiding them to five championships in 2001, 2002, 2007, 2008 and 2017.

Garcia quit as coach of French first division side Saint-Etienne in November after five months in charge.

Understandably there is a lot of frustration and anger on here at the moment, so please forgive me if I attempt to lighten the mood a little.

I have just worked out that EVANGELOS MARINAKIS is an anagram of. . .

VAGINAL NOISEMAKERS

I once went out with a girl from Sneinton who was one of those and it was most off putting!

Slightly out of left field this one, but click on the link below and check out the new Lidl Christmas advert. All becomes clear at 12 seconds.

Is this our PR department getting in a bit of clever exposure and should we be concerned that it's Lidl and not Waitrose?

Loving Feeling

1.) 06 Nov 2017 23:43:37
Well we picked up a bargain from rangers, for a "lidl" price.
😀😀

2.) 07 Nov 2017 10:02:28
Both Lidl and Aldi are German I believe. It would be nice to have some European sponsors rather than a betting firm, but don't think either supermarket or Waitrose are likely to go for it! Have we ever had food product firms supporting us?

3.) 07 Nov 2017 11:46:02
Saw this the other day when it first aired, thought i was seeing things so had to rewind. Absolutely awesome and good to see.

Our next six games are against sides that are all currently in the bottom half of the league table. Although the scoreline last night does not make good reading, for a large part of the game Forest did play some good football and severely tested Fulham.

I believe that if the tempo and set up of last night's game is maintained for the next six games we will pick up wins and climb towards a more healthy mid-table position.

So make a pencil note in your diaries and let's see how things look after the Birmingham game on the 18th of November.

Loving Feeling

1.) 27 Sep 2017 11:45:04
I should of course have added the next 6 games AFTER Sheff Utd!

2.) 27 Sep 2017 13:41:09
That's a fair point LF, but we have an issue creating and scoring goals. Last night we had chances, but failed to take them. I hate to say it, but someone like Britt in the side may well have taken those chances. For parts of the game we were dominant, but didn't capitalise when on top. This, with our defensive woes makes it difficult to win football matches!

3.) 27 Sep 2017 16:01:01
I totally agree with your summary Murdoch, I'm just trying to take some positives from last night. We did miss several good goal-scoring opportunities, but I'm hoping that against the lower teams we get more opportunities to score and convert them.

Let's keep believing!

4.) 27 Sep 2017 18:04:28
Like Britt converted all those chances against ourselves.

5.) 27 Sep 2017 20:12:48
It seems that way murdoch assombongola doesn't seem to be doing that much for Middlesbrough though I would like to see a young bright striker coming in from the lower leagues a goalie and a couple of defenders.

LF

Tonic water will do the trick for a tight quad, the tight squad will be somewhat harder.

Lets hope who Warburton wants to go do go, and quickly.

3.) 13 May 2017 22:46:35
I've a mate we call "Tight Wad! "😂😂😋.

4.) 13 May 2017 22:48:49
We also call him "The Locksmith" . because everytime it's his shout. He makes a "bolt" for the door! 🍻🍻🍻.

5.) 14 May 2017 00:17:03
I've got a mate, we call him, a hole.
Cus he always gets us out of a tight spot.

I'm sorry Red Fred I hadn't appreciated the Red Fred / REDFREDDIE situation.

And that was no lecture and certainly no derogatory comments, all just good natured banter . as this site intended!

For the record I'm going for Ian Dowie!

Red Fred

In reply. .

It is almost as if just knowing the truth is worse than not knowing. That however is not the case. Not knowing can be better than knowing at a certain point, if you speculate and figure it out first.

Humans like to think we are rational beings, and thus there is an arbitrary sense of gratification when we speculate and figure something out, regardless of whether we are right. Because hey, I figured it out. I figured out something that is the truth, all on my own.

Even more so when you know you are speculating without any facts whatsoever, and it could be a long shot. But then you turn out to be right in your speculation. And then you get to say “aha! I was right. I told you so!”. Regardless of whether you previously had any confidence in your conclusion.

People would rather figure it out than just know. Because it is brain exercise, but more fun. Your brain gets to be a kid playing a game of lasertag for the first time. You don’t know what you’re doing most of the time but once you get one hit you feel exponentially more victorious with each one.

And we allow it, because it is often also fun to hear. However, humans being the social beings that we are, tend to focus our speculating abilities on people rather than ideas. This may not always have the best results (or intentions) and often lead to disagreements of some sort. That is the case of “just because we can, doesn’t mean we should” which people should widely adopt for a lot of things, to save a lot of people a lot of trouble.

Nevertheless, what comes out from these observations is that people have a thirst for knowledge. We yearn to know. We yearn to find out ways to utilise the world around us. Perhaps all we need is some guidance as to where we should focus our speculating abilities, and the world would be a much more intellectually stimulating (and less drama filled) place.

But what do I know. I’m just speculating.
