Looks like Lansbury on his way 3.5mil with add ons and has turned his nose up at new contract with us expected medical tomorrow looks like the temptation of the premier league is to Mutch

Jonnynffc

1.) Is this from the daily fail cus that story doesn't seem very likely or have you hear this from somewhere else?

2.) If Lansbury goes we need to dig our heels in for at least 5m. Got 2years left on contract so no rush. Be hard to replace. If he went I'd get dorrans for
2/3m.
Why is it we sell players for less than their worth and then pay over odds for players we want. Time we played hardball.

3.) 06 Aug 2014 23:51:12
Lansbury staying but wants promotional bonuses added to contract been offered.

4.) Sorry to see him go as a good player but if he wants to go then good bye and good luck. Maybe we would play with two central mids and two wingers and Britt upfront with Fryatt. That would be some team. Darlow, lichaj, Hobbs, Mancienne, Cohen, Burke, Vaughan/Osborn, Reid, Antonio, Britt, Fryatt. Subs DeVriis, Lescelles, Osborn/Grant, Fox, Lars, Patterson, Mclaughlin

5.) It doesn't make sense to me why Lansbury wants to go to burnley for prem football when the chances are we'll have it next year and they won't?!

{Ed034's Note - because it's very arrogant to say we are going to be in the prem next season while they won't be.
They are in it now

6.) Personally I think if Lansbury joins Burnley it shows his level of mentality, Pearce has already said that he's told Lansbury to prove he's worth a better deal, seems like Lansbury wants to take the easy way out. Should prove what he's first first part of season and if no better deal comes look to move on in January and probably attract better clubs then Burnley.

{Ed034's Note - you cant blame him for wanting to play premier league

7.) Very true Ed - as they say - 'There is many a slip between cup and lip'.

8.) Arrogant. . but true. you Reds

9.) Ed I didn't say it will definitely happen but can you realistically see burnley staying up? Just seems a bit strange to me is all

{Ed034's Note - he has one season in the prem where he plays well and he will be a prem player for the rest of his career. I can fully understand him wanting to do it and I expect him to go

10.) Ed don't blame him for wanting to play premier league just think he should be aiming higher and presuming he wants to try and get back into International fold he needs to be aiming for a top 10 team in my opinion (he's good enough on his day)

{Ed034's Note - what better way of proving to top ten sides he is good enough to play for them, than doing it in the premier league??

11.) He's undoubtedly one of our best players but if he wants to go then we should let him, it makes sense to me as at least he will get a game for Burnley where he may not in a better premiership team. I just hope we squeeze as much money out of them as possible, even if it means waiting till the end of the window and planning life without him in the side now. He's certainly not irreplaceable and doesn’t have a great record with injuries so if we can get 4-5 mill I'd let him go.

12.) If he wants to go, we need to let him go. I'll be sad losing him, but if his mind is set for prem fotball, that's that. Just need to get the right money for him, at least 5 mill with adds on.

Bye the way, why keep bringing Dorrans up, he has just signed a new contract at WBA and plays every time.

Looking forward to Saturday, bring on the season, GO REDS!

13.) I hear that our Henri is not the brightest button in the box? Does he actually know where Burnley is and the fact that they do not do posh names around that part of the world?
The only bright lights are on the M65 and Boundary Mills at Colne!

14.) You can't blame him for wanting to play in the prem, so if he wants to go, then let him. I agree we need to get a good price for him, so its a shame more than 1 club isn't interested, so we could play one off against another. We've done all we can to keep him by offering a new contract. From memory, we only paid £1m for him, so the £3.5m rumored would be a good return, but shy of what most of us think he's worth.

15.) Too soon for premiership I think for Henri, He has the quality but not sure about the mental attitude, don't forget its not Henri that has said no to the new contract its his agent trying to get more money. If Henri has another good year in the championship with 10+ goals and assists and if he can stay injury free. then he would be in the 10mill+ bracket and have the top sdes looking, he's still very young and not the full packge yet, but is very very good non the less

16.) Burnley have a good manager in SD, IMO & they have a good team spirit & forwards that score so there is a chance they will stay up, I fully expect them to struggle but there are another 10 or so teams in the Premiership that could just as easily be relegated. Good luck to him if he goes, the draw of playing at Old Trafford, Anfield, The Emerates etc. , is certainly appealing to any young player, add in the increased wages & bonuses & its very hard to turn down. I know it may be only for one season but as the saying goes, Better to live one day as a Lion than live your whole life as a Lamb.

I've also heard we may make moves for Sam Baldock

COYR

Jonnynffc

1.) Not better than the 2 we're letting go, so can't see this one

Just to let you know an official approach for Britt Assombolonga has been rejected around 3mill

Jonnynffc

1.) No surprise then after our earlier dealings with Peterborough?

{Ed034's Note - their owner confirmed he would do business with us

2.) Gonna take a lot more then that to get him

3.) I heard somewhere that Peterborough have always been a bit weird with their pricing, is this true?

ps Assombalonga is one of the best names I have ever heard.

4.) So a proven League One/Two striker should fetch more than £3m but two proven Championship youngsters can go for £3.5m each?

I wouldn't be keen on spending £3m on Assombalonga. Is he any better than Callum Wilson or Nahki Wells?

5.) Thank goodness for that. He's not worth £2M let alone £3M. Listen to what the Posh fans think of him. Callum Wilson is a better striker than Assombalonga and I believe he was sold for the amount we have allegedly offered for Assombalonga so I would rather we turned our attention to a better prospect such as Sam Baldock or one if the many talented foreign strikers but our lack of scouting staff is likely to prevent the same (thanks Billy!)

P.S. Just because my username is Forest Grump it doesn't mean that all of my posts will be negative before anyone calls me a pessimist/negative/moaner!

6.) This is complete blag! don't usually attack posts but I have some insight at POSH and it won't happen.

I have been known to be wrong in the past though!!

{Ed034's Note - blag by who??

7.) From tails
#nffc expect to sign a striker tomorrow. Deal close to being completed. Very likely to be Britt Assombalonga. Which would be very impressive

Forest looking at putting in an offer for Huddersfields James Vaughn around 3mil you heard it hear first

Jonnynffc

1.) Stuart Pearce has said that he is after another striker, could Vaughn be that striker. I think if he comes he will do well.

Hope your move is going well Ed you should try moving every three years like us forces guys not fun!!

{Ed034's Note - going well mate, thanks

2.) No thanks if we were going to spend that amount on him would have been better off getting Wilson

3.) 29 Jul 2014 16:49:46
Wonder if this has been brought about due to the rumour that Radosław Majewski is on their radar.

4.) @ Marco - Wilson not a target and gather has never been (believe Pearce doesn't rate him).

Think be overpriced at £3m but Pearce has worked with him before (U21) so maybe.

5.) 29 Jul 2014 17:53:19
Although I think £3m is over priced, I do think we need to spend that sort of cash (whether it be Vaughan or someone else) to sign that goal poacher if Fryatt is not fit. Maybe it is just me but I am feeling nervous about the new season as pre season games not been great and we still have a full treatment room.

6.) Wilson has signed for Bournemouth months ago!

7.) Maybe that is a softener to get Vaughn then?

8.) He is injured all the time!
Am I the only forest fan who thinks we can do better then him.

More money = better striker = more goals!

FTID

9.) £3m looks a snip compared to McCormack at 11m. Unfortunately, Fulham have set the market value for decent strikers at this level. Bournemouth have spent, Middlesbrough have 2.7m in theirs. Both unproven at champ level. I imagine Rhodes would be worth 12, and Deeney 8. That the way it is. If you scrape the barrel for the he Hendos or Derbyshires of the world, or you unearth a gem like Ings. We had ours, Patrick Bamford, and we sold him for a bag of nuts. Feels good that.

{Ed034's Note - we had no choice in selling bamford. We offered him the biggest contract we had ever offered anyone of his age nag he said he wanted to leave. We also were desperate for money at the time and still offered it.
There is no guaranteeing that bamford I'd going to become a 'gem' either

10.) I agree Jonsta - definitely would be Pearce's worse signing yet in terms of value for money, is an ok player but not a stellar signing

11.) Never going to happen we do not want anymore crocks!

17 Jul 2014 20:58:27
Friend of mine is a Motherwell academy coach and he rekons Forest scouts came up to watch John Sutton the other day against Fulham think he could be our 20goal striker 22 goals last season in 36 starts I understand that Terry butcher recommended him to Stuart

Jonnynffc

1.) Couldn't cut it at Wycombe why would he in the championship?

2.) 30 year old journeyman with less than average record. I doubt he is the answer, fortunately I also doubt that this will ever happen

3.) No chance, clearly not good enough and at 30 years old he's not going to improve

4.) Don't be silly! I reccomend Ronaldo, but doest mean SP will go for him!

5.) If injury free, Fryatt will score 25 this season. If given a chance, Veldwyck will score 20. Sounds recklessly positive, but I genuinely believe it.

6.) @Cjay
I agree with you. You're not recklessly positive, I can feel something different surrounding Forest that hasn't been around the club in many years. Its our time.

7.) That's ridiculously reckless! Can't see it myself but hope your right.

8.) There are only 2 Scottish strikers that could get a game at Forest
Jordan Rhodes who is never coming and Stephen Fletcher who might just be an option if he does not get much game time at Sunderland

9.) Well after 20 years of cautious. I'm feeling reckless. Can't wait for the blackpool game and the club looks like it's finally got it's house in order. If we have two or three front men regularly hitting the target then i'm sure we will challenge for top two. Fryatt we know will score goals and the dutch lad (can't spell his name) seems to just have that knack of finding the net. SP won't be looking at people like Sutton, he's already demonstrated the caliber of player we are after with the latest two signings. That you Mr Chairman!

10.) Personally I don't think scoring 20 goals in Scotland is a hard thing as would expect all our forwards (including Cox & Mackie) to score 20 goals in a season in Scotland. If we get another striker it will either be a proven one at Championship level (at least) or a young up coming striker.

11.) 18 Jul 2014 11:33:44
My word. This is the best one I have seen on here for a while. I have a lot if friends who support spl teams that Sutton has played for and having also seen him for myself we can all safely say that this man should not be making a living from football. A truly awful specimen of a player.

Looks like we might be intrested in resigning Commons again in January

Jonnynffc

1.) No thanks.

2.) Judas won't be welcome back!

30 Jul 2014 00:24:05
Lasscelles and Darlow talking round Bamford to come in on season long loan looking forward to working with Pearce again and pals

Jonnynffc

1.) 30 Jul 2014 07:34:51
Think this would be a good signing, will chip in and get goals. Some might not like him back but he is young and knows the club and would settle very quickly.

2.) 30 Jul 2014 07:55:03
Why wouldn't anybody want such a talented player as Bamford back for a season?

3.) Doctor N are you Bamford in disguise?

4.) The sheep fans thought he was class to start with but lost form and wasn't in the games according to them. also some said he looked un interested. we already have Cox who scores a few goals then goes off the boil. its a no from me.

5.) 30 Jul 2014 11:16:08
No but I am an admirer of Bamford. He has that touch of class in front of goal which most Championship strikers lack.

6.) I thought Bumford Senior fell out with Forest and as Bumford Juniors agent, the chances of him returning are slim to none.

The direby supporters were not exactly ringing his praises although he did seem to score a few especially early on.
