Evening all, a colleague who closely follows Coventry City told me today that we are in for Cyrus Christie, their out of contract right back. Never heard of him to be honest, but this guy rated him very highly and said Pearce had played him in the England youth set up. All the best, Jon

JonForest

1.) My brother in law is a sky blue and he says he is good.

2.) Didn't his uncle sing Is this the way to Amarillo?

3.) Has had many offers from America but has opted to stay in the championship

4.) No his dad had a lunch box and was pretty quick

5.) His great grandma writes a mean detective novel.

6.) There may be a few clubs after him. It may come down to an auction for his signature. If so they could hold it at his great grandads auction room.

7.) On a free but would probably involve compensation, Pearce knows him, and we need a little competition in that area.

looks to me like a logical move and probably a lot of truth in the rumour

8.) Miley meets Linford a match made in heaven!
COYR's

9.) Bang goes my commission fee on Luke Ayling!

Evening all, I heard from a very knowledgeable WBA fan that Scott Sinclair will be a loan target for Pearce. It would be good if its true.

JonForest

1.) Surely Sinclair will be on a decent wage still?

I would like to see him in a Forest shirt provided he can recapture some of his lost form but I don't see this one happening.

2.) Way all these loan signings, surely if SP is talking about a unity at the club then way bring in loan signings that only care which club pay's there wages

{Ed034's Note - that is not what all loan players are like. Guedioura came and played for a move, as did Hobbs and as is peltier.

3.) A bit far fetched, i'm sure most of us would like this to be true but i'm not holding me breath.

On FA website, Blackstock has been charged with "multiple breaches" of gambling rules. If he's found guilty, what is the penalty, fines, ban? Can the club use this as gross misconduct and terminate his contract? Maybe this is the end of his time with us, if he's found guilty.

JonForest

1.) If found guilty. 100% yes, I am VP for HR so will put my name to it!

2.) If he is guilty and I do say if, then I hope they throw the book at him. He knows it's against the rules and the punishment would be severe but still chose to do it. Rules are there for a reason, to be followed not ignored so he has only himself to blame if the club kick him out and the FA hit him with a huge fine and suspension.

3.) It could just be accumulators in the Championship on other clubs tbf - bit OTT reaction

4.) Yeah it's betting charges that don't directly affect Forest or include match fixing - he's put accas on and included championship games basically. Hardly a life sentence.

5.) It's still against the rules

6.) Yeah but it's not like he's bet on himself to give away a penalty at Derby after 84 and a half minutes, is it? No harm in an accumulator

7.) But there's clear rules on players betting on football matches and if there not enforced it will send out the wrong message to other players. he knew the risks now he must take his punishment, as the saying goes if you pray for rain you have to put up with the mud

8.) His punishment will be a small fine, which I'm sure he'll take. Bit extreme asking for him to be sacked from the club & given a massive ban

9.) Goodbye Dexter

10.) Sounds like dexter's been breaking bad, eh Heisenbergg?

11.) He is the one who knocks!

12.) At the end of the day don't think he will ever be good enough for us again due to his injuries good time to get him of the wage bill

13.) Poor Dexter. Sat at home, probably bored and cheesed off with his injury. Worried about the future. I know, I'll put a few quid on this weekends games to relieve the boredom. No one will ever know. He knew the rules, he'll take the consequences. Very sad.

14.) Do you think that this is why the rumour about Dexter retiring a couple of months ago came from?
It's not like he can effect any games from his sofa except Fifa 2014.

I'm working in Sheffield today, and have been talking to a few Wednesday fans. They seem to think Connor Wickham is going to come to us on a permanent deal in the New Year. I don't why they think that, whether there is something in the local paper up here? Either way they seem convinced. He's banged in 5 on his loan, so maybe he's the missing piece. All the best, Jon

JonForest

1.) I'll second that, I too work in Sheffield and have heard this too!must ave been in local rag!hope it's true.

2.) I seriously hope not, surely we can get better than him.

Don`t rate him at all, big come down if he`s the answer, Billy really does have a major problem finding strikers.

3.) Not sure - he can clearly score if opportunities are presented to him. Doing well in a struggling team and bagged one (or two) against Leicester.

4.) Even our misfiring strike force scored two against Fester. it's easy!

5.) Team talk says Poyet hasn't decided on his future yet and will only be sorted when he returns from his loan. It is suggested that he's not in there plans but after spending 10-15 mins looking on tinterweb can't find any truth in us being linked with him.
I think, at the right price, would be brilliant but like most fans, would prefer a more prolific goal scorer. Don't know who before Ed lays into me haha. Only joking Ed.

Adam

{Ed034's Note - I'm not that bad am I?? Lol

6.) I think some fans are deluded! Wickham would be a great signing. I would say a much more realistic target than rhodes and long!

7.) I would be happy with him. he's young and can only improve with games. he is big strong and quick and he has shown he can score goals in a team that create few chances. We could also get him for less that Rhodes and if does well his value could rocket.

8.) My Auntie was born in Sheffield and she thinks we're signing Cameron Jerome in January. What do you think?

9.) Aunties been reading the wrong tea leaves!

10.) Not taken long for this to pop up I to no about this I was shopping in medowhall Saturday everyone was talking about it:}
he is the same as the lad from hull forest fans never wanted not good enough we all said yet they have both gone on loan and scored goals,

Afternoon all, according to tv we are interested in Kagisho Dikgacoi from Palace. His contract is up in the summer. Might be nice for us to be on the right side of a Bosman for a change, its usually one of ours going for nothing! All the best, Jon

JonForest

1.) 12 Dec 2013 16:10:11
Can't see it, he's one of Palaces best players

2.) Why not, he's out of contract

3.) Mentioned in the daily star and in a south African media site

4.) We are just one of many clubs listed in the article

5.) Cant see it happening, it mentions in the article several prem and German teams want him also. Not going to happen.

6.) Why? because he's one of Palaces best players! If he goes it will be to a prem club who will pay huge wages because there's no transfer fee involved. We will be priced out of the market or he will go abroad

Evening fellow reds. Over the years we've had some great shirts, and some not so good. Which has been your favorite, and worst Forest shirts. My fave three is the 2013/14 third shirt, 04 (?) away black and blue stripe (Milan), and the 91 shipstones home shirt. Worst is the hideous "paint spill" 94/5 (?) away - still bought it though, with Stone on the back! All the best, Jon

JonForest

1.) When we had the white top and black shorts (2nd kit). Was it around 1991-92?

2.) I remember a classy green shirt with what can only be described as a graph across the front. Limited edition if memory serves. Might be getting old but who cares. BTW does anyone else prefer the old stag crest for our badge?

3.) No. Much prefer the tree.

4.) Does anyone know why we changed our badge and when?

5.) Forest changed the badge as a competition in the early 1970's, it was won by a bloke at Trent Polytechnic, some kind of graphic designer. The tree has 11 curls to represent the team and the 3 lines the Trent. He used a lower case E as he thought it looked better than a capital E. I think that's right, bit patchy on the competition thing, might of been commissioned, I'm not sure.

6.) Apparently the old crest was a modified version of the city of nottingham coat ofarms but was changed because forest were unable to cpyright the image. It changed in 1973/1974 to the sherwood tree emerging from 3 wavy lines representing the river trent and was suppsedly the result of a competition opened to the public.

7.) Thanks for that pk1 intresting to know thanks mate

8.) It was a comp because Forest had no right to sell anything with the old badge so we needed a new one we could copywrite and I think the prize for the designer was something like ten quid

Evening all. WBA have released Zolton Gera, Liam Ridgewell and Steven Reid amongst others. I think all three would be good, free additions to the squad. Any thoughts? All the best, Jon

JonForest

1.) No more wba rejects please!

13 May 2014 18:29:43
With Graham Dorrans contract expiring over the summer, and the turnaround in managers at WBA, wonder if we could jump in and get him on a free? Would be a very good addition.

JonForest

1.) I would like this but with the combination of him playing the last part of the season and being a part of the playing squad together with his premier league wages I suspect the opportunity has now passed.

2.) He would a fantastic signing though.
Vaughan, Lansbury dorrans and Reid as a midfield, With pato playing behind a new striker.

I think it will be a tough league next year. Easily 12 teams who will challenge. I think Fulham will drop like a stone. Loads of prima donnas who don't know the muck and bullets of the Championship. Major clear out and a struggle I think. Norwich and Cardiff will be tough as they know the league. Then three of QPR, Wigan, Brighton or D###y, plus Bolton, Reading, Ipswich, Blackburn, Wolves, Middlesbrough etc.
Once our boys are all back fit, plus a couple of strikers and a couple more good backups, we'll be seriously challenging, but I think next season will be one of the toughest yet. All the best, Jon

JonForest

Evening all. Who do you think will move on over the summer? I think the following are out of contract and will be gone - Greening (maybe a coach), Moussi (definately gone), Jara and Miller. I think (hope) Derbyshire is given a 12 month extension. I understand that Djebbour was actually a loan and looks like he'll be sent back along with Gomis.
So who else will go? I guess Abdoun will be loaned/sold, and I think we will loan/sell Harding, Collins, Majewski, one of Cox, Henderson or Blackstock. If we can keep Darlow, Hobbs, Lichaj, Wilson, Cohen, Reid, Pato, Vaughan, Lansbury plus a couple of very good striker, we'll be top 6 next season. All the best, Jon

JonForest

1.) Greening is definitely going

I'm sure Mr Pearce, our Nation's former Under 21's manager knows what to look for in a youth player. Pretty sure that if the player was that good, we would have offered whateve was necessary to keep him at the club (a la Lansbury). All the best, Jon

If he is going to be on £25k per week that's £1.3m per year. How much would we have to pay to replace him?
Football finances are like monopoly, totally unrelated to real life, but in the context of crazy football money, that's £1.3m very well spent. If he has a key role in getting us promoted then that's a £100m+ Coming our way next season. Great move all round and shows our ambition as a club.

Tim's Dad Ron was a legend for Wolves. Ron had a shop in Wolverhampton, Ron Flowers Sports. I ordered in the Forest away kit, not realising at the time it was to be the hideous yellow monstrosity. (1995 I think?) I'll add a new post for the best/worst kit we've had! All the best, Jon

David Platt joined a few years after we signed Silenzi. Frank Clarke signed Silenzi in 95. Clough did sign a few duffs though to be fair, Fashanu, Gary Bull, Gary Megson, Robert Rosario, but its only a tiny minority compared to the great players he signed!

Its Rob Kelly, and it doesn't say Sacked. Who knows what the truth is, but maybe Rob has taken a job elsewhere? With David (Ned) Kelly, Julian Darby, plus the rest of the backroom staff, we have more than enough to cope. Onwards and upwards. Here's to a 1-2 win for Forest tomorrow. All the best, Jon

Marco, what about Burke? I think he has been great so far for us. We'd need a keeper on the bench too! Shows how tricky it is, what a great squad we now have!

JonForest

{Ed034's Note - I don't understand how pato can be picked ahead of Burke at the minute, or Antonio for that matter

I thought Jim Brennan was a very good left back. Him on the left and Louis Jean on the right were great. However Cohen gets my vote for best left back since Pearce.

There's been a few duffs over the years. Eugene Dadi, Rosario, Gary Bull, Gary Megson (player and then manager), Andy Cole, Neil Lennon.

Re 5) - we need a keeper on the bench! I completely forgot about Brian Laws at RB though. Shame about his own goals, but yes I'd swap him for Louis Jean.

Wow, Reid is the first name on the team sheet for me. The midfield certainties are him and Lansbury. We then need a holding DMC, like Vaughan, then one other attacking MF like Abdoun, Mackie, Majeski etc. Reid offers so much, set pieces, experience, a killer pass, work rate, leadership etc.
