Rangers have option to buy Cummings.

GreyandRedMan

1.) 15 Jan 2018 20:24:53
Should of kept him and let Brereton and wAlker go

2.) 15 Jan 2018 20:32:36
Don’t think we will see him in a Forest shirt again.MW brought him in and didn’t play him?? Needed to be playing up top with a partner and getting a run of games.Lets see what AK does with what’s left of the window🤞🤞

3.) 15 Jan 2018 20:37:53
Billy

It has been suggested that Cummings leaving us a sign AK has got someone coming in soon.

Anything is possible.

4.) 15 Jan 2018 21:12:30
AK said he was going to have a good look at his squad before making any decisions yer he let's Cummings go without giving him a chance. This could come back and bite us

5.) 15 Jan 2018 21:20:56
Breadman

I think AK said he wanted to have a good look before deciding how many signings he wanted to make.

He clearly decided quickly about some players, and others wants to give a little extra time to.

6.) 15 Jan 2018 22:16:36
I reckon Cummings didn’t settle which is partly why he didn’t get games under Warburton and probably told AK straight away he was home sick so has been shipped out I would imagine if he does well whilst on loan will can demand higher fee at least pity though as I felt he could have done something.

7.) 15 Jan 2018 23:45:55
Cummings is never going to cut it in Championship as he does not have the pace required to succeed?

8.) 16 Jan 2018 09:21:05
Hold on. didn't Cummings bag a brace against Premiership Newcastle, against Laschelles. tipped to be an England great in the future ????? Just saying

9.) 16 Jan 2018 10:14:10
Newcastle put out a reserve team against Forest and Lascelles was on the bench.

Back four,Gamez, Hanley, Mbemba, Sterry

Hanley ( another rubbish Scottish defender) was sold to Norwich after the game and Sterry sent to Coventry.

Enough said?

10.) 16 Jan 2018 10:43:24
Eric Lichaj scored a fantastic brace against Arsenal but that doesn't make him a striker?
what a strange point to make

11.) 16 Jan 2018 10:44:58
Still a better back four than we can field

12.) 16 Jan 2018 15:28:38
Not really a strange point to make is it when his suitability in the championship is questioned when he put the sword to a premiership team. But nobody is questioning Lihaj's ability are they ???? The mind boggles. let's see ehat he does at Rangers.

13.) 16 Jan 2018 15:45:33
In my opinion, and yes I am allowed one, Cummings is a better striker than Brereton and Walker. Also I think wAlker is a better striker than brereton. I’ve yet to see brereton hit a decent shot on goal that hasn’t been scuffed or deflected. Had a good game against arsenal but didn’t score and should of done. One for the future bla bla bla, forest need good players now

14.) 16 Jan 2018 18:13:25
Billy, I think Vellios is a better striker than the lot of them but he has not even been selected in the 18 man squad?
AK says they will all get a chance to prove them selves? Let's see if Vellios is seen again

15.) 16 Jan 2018 18:39:10
Yes I agree with you. Would love to see velios get a start

16.) 16 Jan 2018 20:52:44
Take it mcginn no longer on our radar if he ever was 😕

17.) 17 Jan 2018 17:51:51
cummings will get a hat full at rangers, played out of posithion by the breadman he's a decent striker but maybe the move was too good to turn down for him hope the lad does well

18.) 17 Jan 2018 23:41:34
Kris Boyd scored a hatfull for rangers, tells it all.

14 Jan 2018 15:01:14
Alan Nixon has suggested Forest have placed a £13m tag on Berereton, all part of the tough decisions Randall was on about when he first joined us.

GreyandRedMan

1.) 14 Jan 2018 16:23:57
If he doesn't go in this window he'll go in the next. £10 million offer will be accepted and probably £3 million of it will be available to the manager.

2.) 14 Jan 2018 17:16:04
Take the money

3.) 14 Jan 2018 17:44:14
Billy

You say take the money, would you get rid of anyone else, and being sensible, who would you bring in.

4.) 14 Jan 2018 18:39:37
Without knowing more of our finances we can't comment on selling there could be 6 or 7 mill of britts money left if the increased gates and sponsorship has reduced the monthly deficit, were the fawas loans wiped with the sale if the club ? There are too many variables would be nice to spend 6 or 7 mill without selling younger stars and make room on the wage bill by getting rid of the likes of mills hobbs ect

5.) 14 Jan 2018 19:29:02
it all depends on the player and my understanding is BB loves Forest and wants to stay. contracts mean sod all if the player wants to go.
If he does have his head turned it makes sense to get the most we can to pay for replacements.
football is a business sponsored by addicts like us

6.) 14 Jan 2018 20:27:25
I hope Alan Nixon is making up the difference in what he is worth? He's worth at least twice that amount!

7.) 15 Jan 2018 11:22:22
13M at todays prices doesn't cover it for me, 25m more like it for me

8.) 15 Jan 2018 11:38:08
I don’t know that’s Great Money for Forest however this is where add ons come in.
£13 million for B.B. or £10 for Worrall is decent and brilliant if like Pat Bamford say they go nowhere and end up as a reserve in Championship in 3 years but if they go on to become solid international etc and meet their potential well then it seems cheap! If we sell any of our young players we must make sure they have add ons such as sell on fee and appearance/clean sheet/goals bonuses where if they continue solid progress then it means the fee goes up to the £18-25 mil mark imo

9.) 15 Jan 2018 16:47:07
I said take the money because none of them are good enough. Sell the lot of them. This team can get us relegated. How close was it last season and we had Britt then. I’m all for bringing the youngsters on but not at the expense of the team.

07 Jan 2018 15:05:04
Smith, Lichaj, Worrall, Mancienne, Tarore, Osborn, Vaughan, Cash, Dowell, Clough, and Berereton.

Subs:Henderson, Mills, Bouchalakis, McKay, Cummings, Walker, and Vellious.

That is today's team.

GreyandRedMan

1.) 07 Jan 2018 15:37:12
No Bridcutt? Injured? MOM against Leeds and bombed. My only doubt in GB's selection. Looks like we might be going for it.👍😲

2.) 07 Jan 2018 15:43:56
No he is not injured, he is one booking away from a 2 match ban.l

3.) 07 Jan 2018 15:58:45
Mmm, he was when he played Leeds too? He's going to get a ban sooner or later. GB saving for important league games?

4.) 07 Jan 2018 16:27:16
You are right, but why risk missing 2 games for a Cup Game we most likely will not win.?

5.) 07 Jan 2018 17:04:24
What a goal!!!!!

6.) 07 Jan 2018 17:12:40
Just loving it Rogie.

07 Jan 2018 12:08:15
The Sunday Post thinks if Rangers put a offer of £1m for Cummings we would accept.

Tell them £5m he would be a hit in Scotland, and could still work out for us.

GreyandRedMan

{Ed007's Note - If they couldn't scrape £1 million together for Jamie Murphy I can't see them having it for Cummings. Plus I would be amazed if Cummings would even consider signing for them.}

1.) 07 Jan 2018 12:23:16
Ed007

I have just looked him up, Rangers have him on loan from Brighton, Brighton want their £1.7m back with Rangers wanting to pay 1m then the rest in add ons.

{Ed007's Note - Brighton wanted either £1 million paid right away or £1.2 million in installments - £400k up front as the first installment and they were even prepared to get the other £800k split into two payments payable by the end of August and December 31st. TRIFC didn't have the £1 million let alone the £400k and offered £200k and £1 million in the summer (after their season ticket sales) which was unacceptable to the English side who took the £200k as a loan fee instead. TRIFC also wanted Brighton to pay any agent's fee and other costs entailed.
TRIFC are surviving on loans from directors which are drying up and according to their latest set of accounts they need to find circa £4 million just to see them through to season ticket sales start.}

2.) 07 Jan 2018 13:08:52
Thank you for the update Ed007, you learn something everyday.

{Ed007's Note - No probs buddy. (yes)

05 Jan 2018 11:27:45
Norwich said to be wanting Jorge Grant, would we prefer to wait to see what our new manager thinks first.

That is providing it is a more than a rumour.

GreyandRedMan

1.) 05 Jan 2018 11:41:05
I’d keep him and give him his chance.Think it’s 15 goals and 7 assists for him so far, surely deserves a shot after that, unless he wants to go then so be it.

2.) 05 Jan 2018 13:56:43
Grant should be given a chance to show what he can do in the Championship with Forest.
The experience he`s gained in Div 2 will be invaluable. With him being so young he will only get better.

3.) 05 Jan 2018 15:56:06
Better off with "Jack" Lemon!!!

4.) 05 Jan 2018 16:47:28
Would be a great replacement for Dowell when he goes back. Goal scoring midfielder.

5.) 05 Jan 2018 19:49:41
Slap a silly price tag on him. 3m
Britt was playing league 1. Before coming to us.

Niklas Hult a 27 year old left back has been linked to us, however is is currently playing for our owners Greek rivals, would they do business with him when they are possibly behind his match fixing claims.

GreyandRedMan

1.) 15 Jan 2018 18:22:47
I would have him good steady left back or left midfielder, i expect money would overcome any accusations of match fixing, anyway it is Forest they are dealing with not Olympiakos ⚓

2.) 15 Jan 2018 18:41:33
Portland Red

I do hope you are right.

3.) 15 Jan 2018 19:45:40
Grey, Marinakis will make them an offer they can't refuse 🐴⚓

4.) 15 Jan 2018 20:03:52
Think Pananthinkos are in financial trouble so it wouldn't take much to get him.

5.) 15 Jan 2018 23:21:15
Are there no blood and guts swashbuckling championship fullbacks out there ?

6.) 15 Jan 2018 23:36:49
I like that Brazil. .my thoughts exactly. Why not search Eng er land. Do we have scouts looking at our own?

7.) 16 Jan 2018 09:19:27
I mean. just someone who knows the league a bit and can dig in when it matters. I understand the days of Stuart are all but a dream now. but.

14 Jan 2018 00:43:37
I find it strange that people are looking at the negatives today.

Were we a good side today, no, off course not, did players make mistakes, yes they did, but young players are bound to make mistakes while they learn.

If the young players were the finished article they would not be with Nottingham Forest Football Club.

AK has had little time to prepare the team for today's game, and we only conceded one goal.

Villa are near the top of the table, and I'm sure everyone would say Bristol City are a better team than us, yet Villa put 5 goals past them, that is with Bristol City's manager being with them a lot longer than 1 game.

Yet people want AK to manage at Nottingham Forest Football Club what Bristol Citys manager could not do against Villa even though there is a vast difference in their time in the job.

How many transfer windows has AK had at Nottingham Forest Football Club to get the players he wants.

AK told it as it was in his after game speech, off course we need action, and not words but what action can you take in the very short time that AK has had.

We all have opinions on how we want the team to play, and we are all entitled to air them but we have to be realistic in how quickly it can be done.

When a person takes over the manager's role at Forest they can not access the players, teach the players the required skills, and buy the much needed new players all in about 3 days.

If we think that is possible we are kidding ourselves, is it frustrating, too right it is, but we have to stop kidding ourselves, about 3 days is enough time to work magic.

1.) 14 Jan 2018 02:29:46
Karankas post match interview was interesting, he said Young players need direction and more mental strength he mentioned needing more experience and both CB and C.F. so lead me to believe he may look at bringing in a more experienced forward and defender. He took pressure off young players really saying we can’t expect Brereton to play like he did against Arsenal all the time and tht Villa should have beaten us with the experience they have and leaders like JT in their team. I felt we could have got a point today still but Villa did a job and used their experience to win fouls and make it hard. The goal showed a lack of experience and quality with Mills and Smith both being at fault but bar that they didn’t really make many other chances and all their chances came from set pieces which we gave away cheaply, again showing lack of experience. We need more spark going forward and looked like we lacked creativity going forward but that’s been a regular issue. We have relied heavily on Dowell and early in the season McKay to make goals who are both young players. Hopefully Karanka can organise the team in coming weeks and bring in some experience and balance. It is always hard breaking down a team as experienced as Villa once they are ahead away from home! Felt Clough had a better day today and showed glimpses of what he can be with some nice passing and movement and Cash’s willingness to run and battle was good but others weren’t on form Today and Yraoure got done by Snodgrass showing his weakness often and Mills especially for the goal showed his lack of speed. WorrL was missed but Karanka said we need more centre backs. It will be interesting to see what he can do in next few weeks.

2.) 14 Jan 2018 07:33:08
Disagree with smith being at fault.you have a split second to decide to come for it or not,he would of seen mills marking him but by the time mills let his man go twice it’s too late.

3.) 14 Jan 2018 08:06:22
Sums it up rascal. I think Mills just lost his man for the goal but the rest your spot on. The next 2 games will be tough then we play mid and lower table sides and we need to turn it around there.

4.) 14 Jan 2018 09:13:30
It was 4 yards out! Mills did lose him but Smith came for it and got nowhere near it.Defenders and Keeper errors all season.Enough is enough. If the excuse is age then go play league 2,old or young.

5.) 14 Jan 2018 09:41:29
Enough will be enough perks, I think it will. Yesterday we were good for a 0-0 all day long. One error cost us and played right into Villas hands because it meant they had to simply see the game out, with Bruce as manager and JG marshalling the troops they have such tactics in the bag.

Keep them out and things may shape differently as they might take a few more risks as the game wears on insearch of the win etc. We will never know now as a poor combination of defending and goal keeping gifted them the game and enables them to call all the shots. New Jeeps, CB, CM and CF if at all possible please. See traore is getting some stick, I didn’t think he was that bad. Grealish stretched lichaj as much as Snodgrass stretched traore I thought.
Terry, Adomah, grealish and snodgrass were the differentiators yesterday, we’ve got no one anywhere near that level I’m afraid.

6.) 14 Jan 2018 10:01:54
Cuoldnt agree more 2star
Still think with Terry and Chester having Brereton in their back pocket Karanka should have put walker on to help Ben and go more direct instead of sticking to the same game plan.
There was no point bringing Bridcutt on at all he wasn't going to create anything.

7.) 14 Jan 2018 15:52:30
Our big problem defensively is communication. A defender of Mills experience shouldn’t have lost Hogan really but Smith should have called but this is another regular problem. Machienne is decent but quiet and Worral is excellent young lad. But we need a organiser and leader back there like JT! I actually am a big fan of Smith, Worral and Manchienne but feel as a unit they mess up! We need either a first choice Centre back, goalie or in my opinion a left back who is a leader.

8.) 14 Jan 2018 19:23:48
Same old faces moaning all of the MW fan club are out from under there rocks I'm sure a few more will appear shortly lol

13 Jan 2018 20:54:45
A K said Forest need to be more organised, intense, and aggressive.

All very true, but like he also said, the lads need encouragement.

Non of the fine margins that grated many while MW was manager.

GreyandRedMan

1.) 13 Jan 2018 22:41:58
Don’t you think he played this game out, to see what we see, he made no major interventions. I have watched this crap all season, two performances stand out,the QPR and Arsenal game,.

2.) 13 Jan 2018 23:05:33
"More organised, intense and aggressive"? Pretty much sums up the team in a nutshell. Question is will he bring people with those qualities to the club, or will he try and teach our players exactly how to do that? Seems like others have tried the latter without much success.

3.) 13 Jan 2018 23:08:42
Action is what's required not words.
We returned to the champioship today and got out thought and outfought.
We created nothing and the players are not capable of playing one up top.
We will continue to lose games in this league as long as this carries on without major surgery,ie a massive clear out of players
Especially midfield,Not enough creativity and a total lack of goals other than wonderkid who gets a few but can't pass a ball 10 yards to a teammate.

4.) 14 Jan 2018 07:42:38
Looks like ff is still hurting about warbo.ripping into Karanka already.hes been here less than a week and you expect him to have got more experienced players in turned them all into leaders!
Brilliant

5.) 14 Jan 2018 07:59:38
FF , you’re right on the money regarding KD he wasn’t good at all today

13 Jan 2018 20:18:22
Reading some posts it strikes me that some thought AK could turn around everything MW drilled into the players over 9 months in 2, or 3 days.

AK said the players could get over confident as a result of the Arsenal, perhaps the lads did.

GreyandRedMan

1.) 13 Jan 2018 20:26:03
How is it Brazil managed to turn them round in 2 games 😀

2.) 13 Jan 2018 20:43:43
The crowd seemed to like him, lots of chants of Karanka. Well it sounded like Karanka anyway!

3.) 13 Jan 2018 21:01:53
Skegsjay

Brazil knows most of the players inside and out, when did AK first see the players on the training ground.

13 Jan 2018 16:33:45
A K team for today is:

Smith, Lichaj, Mills, Mancienne, Tarore

Vaughan and Osborn

Cash, Dowell, Clough

Berereton.

Fairly attack minded team

COYR.

GreyandRedMan

1.) 13 Jan 2018 17:01:05
I'd say it's fairly defensive as well especially if we are playing 4 at the back.

You can have experienced central defenders without being that age.

You said age is not such a big factor for central defenders, in which you name John Terry as an example.

If age is not that big a factor there would be plenty of quality central defenders in their mid to late 30's at the highest level, like i said a 3 year contract means he would be 37.

If you can only name Terry that means he is a rarity, not the norm as you were suggesting.

I do not think he is good enough for that Length of contract, and the money he would expect.

So we just have to agree to disagree

Vets forever

If Cummings comes back from Rangers firing on all cylinders, then gets pre-season training with AK then fires on all cylinders for Forest by being used properly he will be an asset, or go for much, much more than now.

I'm not sure about Grant, but i think Yates next season could save us a lot of money in that position.

Vellious would make a good change of tactic, but if AK does not like him then yes get rid.

I would not sell Berereton if i could avoid it, but as much as i like Worrall if we could get good money for him i would sell.

Hobbs, Mills, and Carayol i agree with, but i again think Ward is a good change of tactic.

Cohen does need to retire, but i think Cash could do Vaughan's job, Vaughan is too expensive to be a back up.

You could be right, but when Warburton wanted so many new players instead of 2 or 3 players money will only go so far, therefore it is a gamble spending lesser amounts on more than slightly more on less.
