Hi Ed, bit if a question was wondering if you could answer, was reading the article on the great Brian clough on ssn and in the top picture of him he's in front of the main stand now admittedly this is unfortunately before my time just, but I noticed what looks like a commentary box above a block! Was that a permanent fixture there or was it only temp! And if permanent are you aware of why it was taken down?

Forestfire

{Ed001's Note - Sky sets a standard for position, size and facilities for commentary boxes. Almost every club that has been in the Prem have had to change commentary positions.}

1.) Ahhh ok thanks!

{Ed001's Note - no worries mate, glad to help. It was something I only found out about at the beginning of the season while talking to someone involved in turning Man City's stadium into a football ground from its original incarnation. They were explaining how Sky set certain standards they expected and how it had since been upgraded in recent times. They are set out in the FA handbook, the laws of the game one, but I would avoid reading it if I was you, it is mind numbingly boring!}

2.) Well I think I might give that a miss and instead stick to asking most my questions to our very own Edcyclopedia instead!

3.) Morning chaps, the box was in fact the old police control room. It was taken down when the new bridgeford end was built as the new police control room was put in there

4.) Was there an overlap in times? As the pick on ssn shows the new bridgeford stand complete with the box there?

5.) If my memory is correct, the Bridgford stand was finished about half way through cloughies last season. The New police box was fully operational at the beginning of the following season.

6.) Ahhh makes sense! Thanks!

Going to be interesting to see how jelle vossen works out for middlesborough! After the number of times that we have been linked to him and an impressive record I hope it doesn't work out and we were right not to get him!

Forestfire

1.) I think you mean you hope it does work out we were right not to get him.

Can anyone tell me what SP had to say about Liegertwood?

Forestfire

1.) Sad that he is disappointed he is injured as gave him a week to prove himself, says he will sit down and talk with him when they return next week, lovely lad good around the group etc.

2.) Cheers! I was interested to see what his decision would be on him! Tbh I can't see him offering him a contract without seeing him play a comp match! But we will see!

Now Lars is what you call a target man and a half! 6ft 5! He's head and shoulders above everyone else! He will deffinately standout in the line ups! For a quick glimpse of how tall he is compared to other people have anyone else looked on the os and compared the picks of Matty fryatt 5ft10 against the forest sign to Lars who's not standing completely upright as well! It's a good for a little laugh

Forestfire

1.) Did see it what was on?

Bit of a question for you all, with derby currently winning and possibly going up which yes would be extremely painful to see especially as Leicester have already gone up! But how would everyone view this for forest next year?
Negative would be no midland derby games at all which fans love especially if we win, and missed ticket sales as they are always a sell out!
Positive would be derby games mean forms out the window and a loss can be demoralising for the team because of the passion of each game! But alternatively it can give you the confidence to go on a run!
So what would people prefer derby to go up and there being no chance of a derby game ruining a good run plus the chance of derby beating their own record for lowest points in the prem ever! or keep them down and have two games to really look forward to and maybe turn it into a positive kick on? I'm pretty undecided on it personally as I love and look forward to the derby games but these do have a massive effect on the games just following it for us!

Forestfire

{Ed034's Note - there is no way I could ever wish for derby to go up

1.) Even if it made it easier and more likely for forest to go up next season?

{Ed034's Note - no

2.) Derby went up 2007 and we all know who their manager was. Irony that, that manager had two stints with us and Derby's current manager, had a stint with us and no looks a good bet to take Derby to at least the Play Off final. If he does and Derby go up he will make a fist of it.

For the last 15 years other than Paul Hart and Steve McClaren, all the other managers have been average to poor and we have ran managers and players out of town. Mocked NON and chanted to have a certain manager back.

Forest fans need to take a long hard look at themselves and how we have behaved. Be careful what you wish for.

3.) I would NEVER wish anything good to happen to them sheep can't stand em & never will

4.) I would rather set light to my knackers than wish for the sheep to go up.

5.) The only possible positive of derby going up is this time next year when they come sliding back down with fester as we shoot up to the prem!

6.) And a positive for them is that they might reach twelve points.

Maybe.

Just maybe.

7.) Though it pains me to say it I think Derby actually have a decent well balanced side but they didn't half get the rub of the green again tonight!

8.) The positive is Foxes and Sheep will be comming down as we go up

9.) After reading the Secret Footballer, I get the impression players HATE playing derby matches. They just create unnecessary pressure, much more than a normal game. So if Direby go up, all the better. The lads get far too much pressure already.

{Ed034's Note - if players hate derby games, then they will never make a top flight player or one that is in demand.

10.) I would not mind them going up reason being they would get battered every week and then we swap places with them when we get promoted next year. I would love that to happen.

11.) I can never wish Derby well - it doesn't seem natural.

{Ed034's Note - i hear you willow

12.) Ed, maybe you should read the book. It was written by a top flight player who was in demand.

I'm not saying I don't like to see Forest play Direby or Fester, I love it, especially when we win. But if, as some have mentioned, the players are more focused when they don't have the distraction of having to work extra hard and take 1000% more abuse from fans if they lose, then I don't mind if they don't play a local team.

{Ed034's Note - I will but I wouldn't want anyone in my side who doesn't like big games

13.) I don't begrudge any team any success, if that success is deserved. If Derby do get promoted it is a lesson that we should take on board.

They get rid of manager that caused nothing but trouble, that manager we employed twice and he caused trouble twice. The made a further error with Paul Jewell, but whether Forest fans like it or not, forget the dislike or hatred, Nigel Clough steadied the ship. They action planned the club to get and stay within budgets and increase external revenue. Changed the manager to Steve McClaren, who is a good coach and they are on the verge of the Play Off finals.

During that time we have spent a fortune on average managers, average players, not backed when we needed to.

As for Leicester they have spent their way out of the league, but that team was settled and stable for three seasons. Another lesson in how to run a club.

Whether Derby join Leicester remains to be seen, but Derby and Leicester will make a go of it in the Premiership.

Call them off as much as you like, but we are second best.

Lecture over it is time for Forest fans to unite and get behind SP and be happy just to play good attacking football. Consolidation next season a strong top 10 finish is all I want. I am not interested in Derby or Leicester.

MY TEAM IS NOTTINGHAM FOREST.

14.) Sorry, loved the rather set fire to my knackers comment! Awesome! Lol

Think long term too! If he comes and settles in well and loves the club he will talk to his friends over there and maybe a few more Barca releases would want to come over and play for us!

No chance Zamora will drop down to us not with his massive bonus for getting promotion!

Forestfire

{Ed034's Note - he played championship last season and if he thinks he will not get many minutes in the prem, why wouldn't he stay down??

Completely agree ed I don't really see why we would be interested in him at that price as I don't think he'd get in the first team with the cms we have! 3m on a winger fair enough but 3m one a cm they will need to be very decent to beat Vaughan Lansbury and Reid to a spot in the middle!

Forestfire

{Ed034's Note - we do need an option at cm, but with who is car there now, we don't need to break the bank to do it

How come you didn't put my comment up Ed? I didn't use too much bad language to sum up this muppets made up rumour!

Forestfire

{Ed034's Note - because I had around 30 comments all saying the exact same thing. Oh and try a bit less sarcasm please (that's why your other post isn't going up, just in case you wanted to know)

Completely agree lars has been awful really definitely not up to scratch on this viewing, think fox has been poor too! Usually can't stand Harding but think he's actually playing pretty well but in general very good and disciplined display at the moment. Osborn motm for me at the moment

Definitely a good point as the den is always a difficult place to go so tbh would have taken a point at the start of the day

I do agree completely with 442 I really don't like 451 unless your playing against a team that you think is much better and your happy to settle for a point it's too defensive and it makes it so much harder to be able to successfully mount a quick counter attack as there's less people to aim at. I also don't like how we bring everyone back for corners yes your less likely to concede but when you clear you have nobody to clear to so are right back on the back foot straight away

Hobbs for me without a doubt on his day he is faultless and Hobbs and mancienne pairing is easily the best cb back pairing in the champ and a few of the prem teams too!
