I look at all your posts guys and enjoy the banter .
But can you tell me why you mostly seem confident we have the right manager in Karanka?
And what is so special about him that it's a forgone conclusion that he will succeed?

1.) 12 Feb 2018 23:31:14
Most managers get a response when they take over a toiling club ff79. AK has not and so its bring in the new faces. No gaurantees their either. He was no messiah in my eyes as other than a mixed time at boro i knew little of him and i preferred Gary Monk which i got slaughtered for. Personally i think he will struggle to turn this around. Too much upheaval so soon and getting cohesion so deep into the season with so many new faces is a big ask. He is under immense pressure and for any desperation not to be transmitted onto the pitch is a big ask. As much as the defence needs attention he needs to find goals, that commodity so prescious.

2.) 13 Feb 2018 08:53:47
the real truth with a lot of people on here, you have no patience at all and want to blame the manager all the time. I suppose you are already wanting him out. And that has really worked well for us, I don't think so. Sorry folks but you have for the 100th time of telling you are going to have to give this guy more than a few games.

3.) 13 Feb 2018 09:39:52
Suttonpete that was not the question from the OP. Having a dig at people on here is not engagaging in the banter. I doubt anyone wants yet another change. Ff79 was merely asking a very pertinent qustion. Already AK has made similary decisions that baffle the fans who turn up week in week out. They turn up to get behind the team but are dismayed at what they see. Us on here and the red army just want to see some forward progression. Simples.

4.) 13 Feb 2018 10:09:11
of course that is always the target, banter or not AK is still finding his feet and will make mistakes along the way, and yes its not good at the moment, and has not been for years, except for the odd flurry with the play offs a few years ago.Its just frustrating already to be having a go at the manager.

5.) 13 Feb 2018 10:41:00
Fair enough sutton but based on what you have witnessed thus far do you think Karanka has it to change the fortunes of this utter mess?? Bear jn mind he walked at middlesborough throwing his toys with a good team of players. I would say that his job is now one of the most daunting in our league no doubt.

6.) 13 Feb 2018 11:28:48
with out doubt rutland, karanka has a difficult job. However he is now having to pick up the pieces of what as gone before, and will of course be judged on results. But it has to be a longer term project to turn things around i'm afraid. The one thing I would add is that a strong, vocal and dominant defender is what we are obviously missing along with a proven goal scorer.

7.) 13 Feb 2018 11:39:18
A new manager would normally get time to bring in his own players and let them settle in, However AK has seen what is like a cancer in our dressing room and operated with swift actions trying to get some response from those who are left. Having watched both Preston and Hull games We are is desperate need of a leader on the field. Fox is not a good left back and Mancienne is no captain Osbourne is being asked to do so many jobs he has lost the plot, There were so many people crying for Vellios to play yet when he does he falls over and is no better than Ben Brereton Dowell has gone off the boil since MW was sacked We need a good strong midfield who can win the ball and provide some service to our lone Ranger up front although I would prefer two up front.
I am sure AK will get this sorted given time.

8.) 13 Feb 2018 12:20:57
Thing is every manager has had to pick up the pieces from the previous manager.
It's how well you deal with doing that.
Like Rutland says you normally get a good response when a new manager comes in as they all get a chance again ie: vellios.
But this hasn't happened for some reason.

9.) 13 Feb 2018 14:45:11
Lets be honest and realistic. Our current form and situation is that of a relegation destined team. It could happen but probably won't if AK can install a captain/leader ( watson ) and gets the troops battle hardened and unified. Its time now to play the experience he has drafted in, reconnect with the fans and givd it everything from now is going to take a gargantuan effort but no more pussyfooting around with the wimps.

10.) 13 Feb 2018 16:58:51
I'm in agreement with FF and Rutland.
Krankie has a mountain and a lot of issues to address.
To play a failing squad twice in succession seems a strange tactic.
Yes the slate has been wiped clean but still bizarre?
Picking up the pieces. Yes he is doing just that but so do other managers when a new one is appointed.

A tradesman never blames his tools for poor workmanship and granted Krankie does have some tools in his squad.
I know if I was a professional footballer regardless of who I played for I would give my best each game for the fans and for my team.

The squad at forest should try working for a living in the real world then they maybe they would be humbled into playing their hearts out!
They need a rocket up their rears.

11.) 13 Feb 2018 19:50:38
As far as I'm concerned the owners have panicked all ways up,on paper we might look a better squad?
But the reality is,it's a broken squad.
You need unity and team spirit to succeed, that's all gone.
You can't bring players in like tomlin who has no excuse for being so overweight,it sends out the wrong message.
We all know it's obscene what players earn but that's football and you have to accept it.
Some players won't react to a rollicking they need an arm round them and some do react to a rollicking it's knowing which ones to do that too.
Posters on here are saying give Karanka time.
Karanka didn't give the players time.
Imo it will cost us

12.) 14 Feb 2018 09:01:46
FF79, it’s a fatalistic view but I understand where you are going with it. If there is no spirit we are done. Megson alineated the players and they hated him and each other. I get your point. Davies came with us in the bottom three and galvanised the team and brought in some smart loans and we survived . Time will tell us very soon if what we think the present moment is telling us about AK is correct?

13.) 14 Feb 2018 12:05:33
Exactly 2 star.
All I'm saying is after watching the games so far and more importantly the tactics and lack of team spirit.
I can't get any sort of good feeling factor and don't share the view that Karanka will sort it out.
Yes it's negative thinking from me,buts that's my view on him.
The next two games we cannot lose, doesn't matter if we don't win,we just cannot lose.

14.) 14 Feb 2018 17:07:25
Lets just stop and look who AK has shipped out

Walker - League 1 striker at best

Clough - Cannot play him with Dowell but will be OK next year

Cummings- We cannot wait for him to take 18 months to adapt to Championship football

Ward - Sicknote for hamstrings

Traore - ditto

Carayol - Has never held down a first team slot wherever he has played and cannot stay match fit

Mills - I rest my case!

The biggest threat to team spirit and confidence is having players that cannot stay fit and put a run of games together for a settled pattern or having players in your team who the rest know are not up to Championship quality.

You surely cannot be serious in claiming these players were not given a chance? Karanka knows this league and will have done his homework beforehand.

We need a minimum of 15 points from 15 games so 2 or 3 wins over the next half a dozen games will set us up nicely!

15.) 14 Feb 2018 17:46:22
I agree on mills Carayol and ward.
Disagree on Cummings and walker.
In Cummings and walker we had two strikers who could have given us an option to play 442 and play off the big man in Murphy or vellios and even clough can play that role.
That option has now gone and was a mistake to let all three go,
One or two injuries up front and we have nothing at all.

10 Feb 2018 23:17:04
It was interesting to see the attendance today at 23k
No way was there 23k in the ground.
The travelling support was only half full and there were empty seats everywhere.
In my row alone five regular season die hard didn't turn up.
The fans are leaving in their droves but because they are season card holders it still counts.
Come on marinak8s say something or turn up and watch this dross and sort it out otherwise you won't get 15k next season

1.) 11 Feb 2018 07:48:57
15,000 in league one would be a good attendance.

2.) 11 Feb 2018 11:34:36
What's your obsession with the owner coming to the matches when he's got other people running the club for him??

3.) 11 Feb 2018 12:22:34
You don't buy a house if you don't want to live in it.

4.) 11 Feb 2018 12:57:35
Unless u intend to rent it out

31 Jan 2018 22:16:00
Looks like Watson and colback deals are over the line.

1.) 31 Jan 2018 22:21:21
We could do with Dawson too.

31 Jan 2018 18:04:03
Pantillimon and the Iranian have signed officially

31 Jan 2018 17:21:26
Looks like colback will be signing soon

1.) 31 Jan 2018 17:33:43
He’s Signed. . !

2.) 31 Jan 2018 17:40:56
If that is correct. Great signing.

3.) 31 Jan 2018 17:48:39
According to reports it's 99% done deal

21 Feb 2018 18:26:13
To say the second half was the most fluent football you've seen all season is vastly liberating last night's performance .
It was a good comeback in a game we didn't deserve to lose.
It was a fair result on the night.

First half was on a par with the Preston and hull games, second half we improved and manage 3 or 4 shots on target and got our reward for the effort.
It's a platform to build on hopefully.

1.) 21 Feb 2018 19:06:14
Meant exaggerating the performance

2.) 21 Feb 2018 19:45:00
you have your opinion my friend and I have mine

3.) 21 Feb 2018 19:49:26
Bosun that's what it's all about opinions.
It's far better to have one my freind than not at all?
Don't you agree?

4.) 21 Feb 2018 20:15:21
The dust will settle over the next few games as the "match stats" Karamoaners will have been disarmed when we put a run of form together towards the end of the season . This in itself will be a change from previous regimes where we always finish with a cough and splutter and squeaky bums!

Still on course for 60-65 points which if everyone is being honest we would have happily settled for at the start of the season?

Too many half empty glasses from seasons past so please park your sniping and embrace the Spring clean that has now started in earnest!

5.) 21 Feb 2018 21:16:39
Red 60 to 65 points?
Can you tell me where they are coming from?

6.) 21 Feb 2018 22:42:49
The chosen ☝️Magical powers ff79

7.) 21 Feb 2018 23:18:20
Nothing to worry about skeggs.
Reds got our backs.
I've got some great wins to look forward to?

8.) 22 Feb 2018 09:13:31
Starting with 3 points at QPR to bring a little froth on your pints!

20 Feb 2018 23:16:20
Very very poor first half.
Watson loses the ball in our half and before you know it it's in the back of the net.
Second half more like three up front much better .
Darikwa had his best game in a forest shirt and a shade unlucky not to score.
Osborn had the worst game I've ever seen from him consistently doing his full circle routine and getting dispossed all the time.
Figs looked ok as did the defence on the whole, but they had one chance and scored and are a very poor team.
Happy with the draw in the end ,but we need to be more adventurous from the start and not give teams a goal start.

1.) 20 Feb 2018 23:57:09
Ff79 adventurous and Karanka in the same sentence never going to happen he likes to keep a tight ship at the back and nick a game 1-0 that ain’t happening with our defence and nicking a goal you need a good loan striker again ain’t happening happy with the draw and hopefully the teams under us keep losing and maybe come summer we’re still in this league and we can beg billy Davies or Dougie freedman to come back ☝️🌂🤪

2.) 21 Feb 2018 00:03:57
Lol full circle ⭕️ routine - so true

3.) 21 Feb 2018 00:24:02
Sorry 2star I’m not one for the roundabout of managers but this clown hasn’t got a clue he’s rearranged a team at the wrong time he’s sent some of our better players out on loan I’m fed up with moaning lol I’m now just laughing I didn’t think forest could get any worse I mean we’re celebrating about getting a draw against burton and reading next season we will be doing that against Notts County it’s a joke think I’m going to support Boston united fed up with this crap 💩 40 years a supporter worse defence worst forward line up and one of the worst managers we’ve had

4.) 21 Feb 2018 00:24:41
Davies and Freedman are like Skegness. A tempting experience on a sunny day but you know that after a weekend the sky will darken and you will always be disappointed and never want to come back?
Karanka has a lot more idea about getting it right than any recent managers.

5.) 21 Feb 2018 00:26:47
How about the Wolley with the brolley skeg?

6.) 21 Feb 2018 09:10:50
Skeg - who are these better players he's sent on loan, lightweight Clough and walker
? Liability and inconsistent Troare? No thanks, I'd take Tomlin, Colback and Watson any day. Great work by AK.

7.) 21 Feb 2018 11:25:02
Agreed. Walker and clough to weak. Loan signings proving top class. can't fault karanka best manager possible for us

8.) 21 Feb 2018 11:42:49
Fed up with moaning but your pretty good at it where managers are concerned.

Maybe go on a Donkey ride and have some Candy floss and cheer yourself up. or it will just give you something else to moan about.

9.) 21 Feb 2018 12:29:12
When some useless loaf has steered your ship towards a huge waterfall you don't just keep going. You don't just slam on the brakes. You turn the ship around. If its a big, famous ship with thousands of loyal passengers its going to be a long, slow, wide turn but you'll get there in the end and be sailing in the right direction. You need some steel in the engine room and you need to relieve the pressure in the boiler room. You can get in the lifeboat, Skegs, and trickle away. We're all on board with Captain Karanka.

10.) 21 Feb 2018 15:28:37
More like captain pugwash ☝️

19 Feb 2018 21:51:22
Just shows what a good manager and bit of belief can do.
Result of the season well done Wigan and all concerned

1.) 20 Feb 2018 08:20:17
And of course ff79 a good goal scorer .always helps☝️

2.) 20 Feb 2018 16:00:19
Have we got either?

17 Feb 2018 14:05:30
Big mistake already playing darikwa and fox.
Has he not learned anything watching them play?

1.) 17 Feb 2018 14:15:25
Don’t worry the chosen ☝️Knows what he’s doing

2.) 17 Feb 2018 14:23:53
Fox is a much better CB than a LB. Darikwa however is just crap. Brereton up front, feelin very underwhelmed . Good to see Watson starting. Not thrilled but let’s see what happens. COYR

3.) 17 Feb 2018 14:39:17
Karanka clearly loves Eric who is always his first name on the team sheet!

Fox is a solid centre half and Cash should provide strong protection against Darikwa getting isolated.

The team set up mirrors how he got the best out of his Boro squad given we still have some players getting up to speed and the need to take Worrall and Manc out the firing line.

Admire his balls for not even having a defender on the bench?

Goals galore today my friend!

4.) 17 Feb 2018 14:29:06
Jeez darikwa and fox, Oh dear, I bet Burton have huge grins on their faces.🙄

5.) 17 Feb 2018 14:58:49
Worrall injured slight knock and manciene taken ill last night.
That's the explanation

13 Feb 2018 19:57:07
See traore and ward have both started tonight.
But walker and clough haven't
Let's hope Warnock has got it right and beats Bolton

1.) 13 Feb 2018 20:26:57
And look who's scored traore.
Warnock knows how to get the best out of players and we've got tomlin

2.) 13 Feb 2018 20:27:18
Traore scores.😀

3.) 13 Feb 2018 22:30:18
Is it just me or does or great club fail to inspire players to be the best they can be?

4.) 13 Feb 2018 23:06:35
No 2 star it's owners making bad decisions.
Not one of them since the cockneuy barrow boy bought us has got the one thing that matters most right.
Put a good managér in place, the rest takes care of itself.

5.) 14 Feb 2018 06:33:38
Traorae is a very good player. Just needs clear guidance and simple messages. But you do not give warnock less than 100%. He is proven experienced and a mans man. Great manager, humerous and has the nack of freshening his squad at crucial times.

Yep they did it twice and beat us both times,
Adkins got it spot on both times, run at fox and it worked any fan can see that never mind a manager.
But the chosen one hasn't seen that yet.

Hobbs is done forget him.
Do you drop manciene or Worrall?
Think he'll drop Eric and put darikwa in and keep those two.
Only going by what he's done so far,and has no option other than that or play figuro
We've still got fox,a total liability wherever you play him or an unfit Spaniard.
You can change the team as much as you like,it's the tactics that are totally wrong for this squad,if there's no change in tactics then I fear the worst.

Back four picks itself.
Not much he can do other than put an untried kid in at centre back or an unfit left back.
And forget two up front won't happen on Karanka watch.
