Think tomorrow we would benefit by bringing boukalkis in for Osborn and give Carayol a first start for McKay or Dowell?
Hopefully traore will be fit and Eric can move to his rightfull position along with manciene.
Murphy and walker should give Bristol something to think about and now Ben's off the mark for the season we can bring him on if needed.
A game not to give silly free kicks away in our own half with the areial goal threat from flint.
Quietly confident we can get a result,at least they're a team that play football which can suit us.

FF79

1.) 15 Dec 2017 23:22:02
Great theory FF79 so long as Mills is not starting? If so then giving away silly free kicks is a given and Mr Flint will prevail!
COYR's

2.) 15 Dec 2017 23:45:52
I agree with most of what you say FF. i'd certainly adopt a defensive but swift counter attacking posture.Certainly,Eric needs to be in his best position, right back which means a recall to Traore to balance the team at left back. Mills and Worrall centre to combat their aerial threat, then cover with 2 defensive midfielders Bridcutt and either Vaughn or Bouchlakis probably Vaughn. I'd give Ward a start as his work ethic will wear them down then introduce pace down the flanks 2nd half with Carayol or Walker and McKay though it would be harsh to drop Walker after last week's excellent performance v Bolton. Then Murphy to start up top and Brereton to come on when the Irishman starts to tire. As for attacking midfielder behind the lone striker in a 4231 it's a toss up,in order of preference between Dowell, Osbourne or Clough. I await the team news tomorrow with great interest but we 'll need to work very very hard to even get a point, which would be excellant

3.) 16 Dec 2017 10:14:38
I think MW will keep the same team as last week and bring on Carayol for the last 30 mins in place of McKay. We may also see Brereton and Walker interchanged. We need Murphy to lead the line with weight and aggression today. I can't see Osborn being dropped or Clough in the side. To me Edser and Cash are better players than Clough anyway.

4.) 16 Dec 2017 14:31:39
Well mystic FF79 called the selection correctly except for Mills so the die is cast?
It will need to be another 5 goal thriller to get a result so COYR's

5.) 16 Dec 2017 15:59:41
Warbuton has listened to you ff79 its 2-0

6.) 17 Dec 2017 12:32:58
Leaving Benny Osborn out is always a risk - look at how well he played when he came on!

7.) 17 Dec 2017 21:12:37
Bsered

I feel Osborn's ability to play more than one position has made Warburton over use him.

The lad has bags of energy, but he for me runs on autopilot some of the time and and needs a break.

Osborn also needs to be given a constant position, and developed to make the most of him.

02 Dec 2017 21:13:33
Sutton ff has been reading all the comments
Today we lost because the two most experienced players on the pitch made bad individual errors , Just when we were getting a foothold.
That's down to manciene and Vaughan who should know better not warbo,
A few managers have tried to get a tune out of manciene mills fox Vaughan Osborn and even Eric, they have all failed ,why does anyone expect warbo to get a tune out of them?
They are the problem too soft, they're not built for the championship, especially a scrap.
They will be replaced make no mistake, but you can't do that in one transfer window.

FF79

1.) 03 Dec 2017 00:31:00
Rubbish.if they are the problem why didn’t he see that last season when he was in charge and change it pre season?if that’s the case why does he continue to play those players when there is depth in the squad to change them?it all stinks of a man who isn’t up to the job.the problem is these players can’t play the tippy tappy rubbish that warbo wants them to play as they aren't those type of players which again he should of realised as he watches them day in day out!again highlighting his downfalls.

2.) 03 Dec 2017 07:01:37
As usual ff comes up with lame excuses. anyone would think he is actually related to the breadman.

3.) 03 Dec 2017 07:54:12
Those players couldn't play a different style under montanier or Brazil either,we nearly got relegated, remember?

4.) 03 Dec 2017 09:14:33
So Warbo brings in Cummings, McKay and Darikwa who are so much better???
McKay is excellent one game in six then goes back into hiss shell

5.) 03 Dec 2017 17:55:08
So are Cummings McKay and Darikwa better than Patterson,Jack Hunt and George Boyd who have worn and could/should still wear the Forest shirt had we been more savvy with our recruitment/ retention strategy?

23 Oct 2017 20:37:47
Well Eric has come out and said he wants a new contract.
He loves it here and is settled in Kirkby and his wife has her shop in Annesley.
He goes on to say every team has competition for places.
Then adds he doesn't know if he'll score every week, but will keep doing his thing and hopefully we'll get the wins.
Time to sit down with him mcparland.

FF79

1.) 23 Oct 2017 21:22:47
FF79, he said this a while back and still no new contract
Rumour also has it that he is happy signing on his existing terms (no pay rise)
It concerns me that a player like this is being left guessing

2.) 23 Oct 2017 21:55:21
It will be down to warbo if he stays or not.if warbo doesn’t want I’m no talks will happen.I wouldn’t hold your breath tho,

3.) 24 Oct 2017 09:32:43
Let's get rid of warbo instead

4.) 24 oct 2017 12:34:12
ff, dont fall out of your chair, in total agreement.
this needs sorting asap.

5.) 24 Oct 2017 13:42:10
Just playing devils advocate here, and I appreciate this won't go down well with some. My assessment of Eric would be he's a decent Championship full back, but I'm not sure he's worthy of the pedestal some of you have put him on. My main concern with this current form is it comes at a time when his contract is up. Haven't we seen this scenario play out many times before.

6.) 24 Oct 2017 14:16:22
Sorry fawaz you just baffle me,just like the real fawaz.
What needs sorting?
I don't know what you want from Warburton,You say he has no plan B
He's clueless
Has no man management skills
He's deluded.
But you don't want him sacked.
Now your in agreement with getting rid of him?
How do you intend to do that then?
Just asking

7.) 24 Oct 2017 15:00:22
Murdoch lichaj got player of the year last season and has been one of the most consistent players pver the last few years.he also puts 100% in every game and runs his socks of regardless of how long he’s got left on his contract.so to say we’ve seen this many times before doesn’t make sense.

8.) 24 Oct 2017 15:28:36
spot on sutton ^^ seen lichaj make crucial challenges in countless games

9.) 24 Oct 2017 20:50:24
One of the biggest problems we have is being too sentimental over certain players. Eric is just an average player at best, he's certainly no world beater. I can recall reading many negative posts about his play on this site not that long ago. He's ok at this level, and can do a job, but I don't agree with this indispensable tag he suddenly has.

10.) 24 Oct 2017 22:49:55
nobody said he was a world beater but there isn’t many better in this league than him so why would you get rid of one of the best right backs in the league and end up with darikwa as the number 1 right back?or the alternative is warbo will by tavinier (spelling) and those two will battle it out in stead.i know which way I would go.

11.) 24 Oct 2017 23:36:48
Im in agreement that lichaj needs a new contract asap.
WARBURTON is deluded and has no plan b and i still stand by this.
I know you get confused quite easily so i hope this sets the record straight and just to reiterate I AGREE LICHAJ NEEDS A NEW CONTRACT!

12.) 26 Oct 2017 02:41:58
Your right Murdoch. I also remember the days on here when Lichaj used to get hammered on here by some.
Don't get me wrong he has been brilliant last 2 games and definitely should be ahead of Darikwa whose defending at times this season has been shambolic.
Darikwa's poor defensive work also had a big impact on the performances of Joe Worrall. I would feel much more confident having Worrall back in the team with Lichaj alongside him.

13 Oct 2017 21:52:55
Two results tonight prove that international breaks are bad .
Bristol and Cardiff had momentum and it gets broken up,the buzz of winning gets forgotten.
To many,to close together.
Fans don't want it and I doubt players and managers do either.
Most championship sides could carry on playing ,all you lose is a few players in general.
Two weeks off and next playing Saturday, midweek and Saturday again.
No good for game or fans.

FF79

1.) 15 Oct 2017 10:26:24

17 Dec 2017 23:00:46
It's interesting reading all your comments about defensive frailties.
How would you rectify this with the current squad?
Who would you play in midfield that would balance us with attack and defence in mind?
Thoughts?

FF79

1.) 18 Dec 2017 07:33:26
Jamie ward in midfield simples. He gets stuck in and has pace. Again warburton has given him no gametime. Weird. Leeds let bridcutt go for good reason. Cohen hobbs were always a doubt but not backed up with alternatives. Mancienne weak and no skipper. Velios shunned no back up. In warbs we trust???

2.) 18 Dec 2017 09:26:45
I see the Jamie ward idea?
He has been injured though for the most part of the season,so hardly shunned.
I was more interested in ideas of what team fellow posters would pick from our squad of players, that would make us stronger.

16 Dec 2017 23:31:48
Notice John Terry in the crowd at Chelsea
Nothing like the villa captain watching his team?
Well at least Bruce knows what it's like when you pay a centre half a lot of money and their injured for long periods,or in Hobbs case, injured period.
What goes round comes round, stitched us up like a kipper with Hobbs

FF79

1.) 17 Dec 2017 11:36:42
When hobbs played with laselles they where great partner ship 79 you talk 💩

2.) 17 Dec 2017 12:01:09
How many games did they manage together before Hobbs was injured again,it lasted all a couple of months.
Great partner ship Jonny.
Hobbs has never been able to form a partnership with any player at forest,he can't stay fit long enough.
"FACT"

3.) 17 Dec 2017 13:52:55
I can say he scored the only goal against derrrrrrrby before laselles was sold and BTW I'd like to know where you got £20,000 a week from yes he's probably done with us but to say Bruce sold us a crap player is garbage in your words FACT

16 Dec 2017 14:29:56
Like I said drop Osborn and McKay and bring in boukalkis and Carayol.
Could call warbo.
Let's get at em early and Nick one early doors for a change.

FF79

1.) 16 Dec 2017 15:51:27
Yep great call 2.0 ht

2.) 16 Dec 2017 16:03:31
Its 2-0 ff79 can't see why droppinv osbourne for bouchalakis is good. Caryol doing f$#kall. Mind you second half could be a different game????

3.) 16 Dec 2017 16:17:58
And so it is Rutland

4.) 16 Dec 2017 17:14:49
Short lived ff79. I still think warbs is weird

10 Dec 2017 23:33:20
Watching MOTD Alan Shearer football genius .knows it all, time he stopped telling managers what they're doing wrong;stand up to the plate and let's see how good you are at being a manager?
He talks the talk, not got the bottle to do the walk.
It's alright sitting in their comfy chairs going over each decision a million times and then putting it all right, live football ain't like that and he should know better.
No bottle, always easy to criticise .
If that penalty was given against forest that loveren conceded how many of you would say,yes that's a penalty?
Soft to say the least .
Man up shearer get a proper job even though you seem over qualified.

FF79

{Ed007's Note - I've destested Shearer for as long as I can remember and I'm 43!}

1.) 11 Dec 2017 13:28:19
He already tried it as player manager, it wasn't great, 1 win in 8 and got relegated. That was back when Hughton took them back up again the previous time they got relegated.

2.) 11 Dec 2017 21:56:42
My point exactly gingerkid, had the same with Neville telling us all what premier managers are doing wrong.
We'll he was an instant success? Not.
Danny "I fiddle my tax" and was an average Liverpool player when they were struggling,Murphy,Just sticks the knife into Klopp at every opportunity, managing players isn't easy when they earn the amounts they do,it's about finding the right players with the desire to succeed even though they are millionaires with women falling all over them.
Some of these ex players should put up or shut up.

3.) 12 Dec 2017 11:56:26
FF79

I understand your point, but in Neville's case he was a quality player and he is very good when it comes to how the game should be played.

There is a difference however between that and as you mentioned being able to handle millionaire players to get them to do what you want.

What would broadcast companies say if the people they employed to give their opinions on games just stood, or sat there and said:

Well i played football for many years but who am i to point out where successful managers have gone wrong in this game.

When i'm watching a pundit i do not want a boring, he has done well, he could be a world beater, blah, blah.

I want somone to be honest, and tell it as it is in their eyes, especially when they were quality as a player, or when they are a successful manager.

4.) 12 Dec 2017 13:33:58
Neville really?
Most boring pundit ever

5.) 12 Dec 2017 13:54:57
Neville may be boring 💤 but he has given a honest opinion, and done enough to stir a strong opinion in yourself, so he has done his job.

6.) 12 Dec 2017 21:17:54
I'm with FF79 on this one, Gary Neville has no personality, and is one of the dullest pundits out there. I'm more likely to tune out when he's one!

7.) 12 Dec 2017 21:48:20
Point is with Neville,he failed with England failed in Spain, yes he might have been a good footballer as shearer was,but it's so easy to keep stop starting the game when it's finished and tell everyone were it went wrong,it happens in split seconds on the pitch players make right or wrong decisions, the manager can't control that,he certainly wouldn't send them out to do a bad job.
The man's irritating and so is shearer,Just taking easy money without putting his neck on the line,he'll have had offers but ain't got the bottle.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair to Shearer he has applied for a number of jobs in the past, including Cardiff, but expected too big a wage and so priced himself out of the market. Since then he has settled comfortably on the sofa and stopped applying.

Other than that I fully agree with you.}

8.) 12 Dec 2017 22:13:18
Cardiff swerved one there then edd?
Merry Xmas mate, enjoy with your family 🎄🎄🍻🍻🎅🎅

{Ed001's Note - very much so in my opinion. Merry Christmas to you too and all the posters and their respective families.}

9.) 13 Dec 2017 16:23:18
To be fair, Sheared was a talented striker and a tough cookie. Who can forget when Fergies enforcer our own Roy Keane (admittedly pumped up and psychotic by this stage in his career) took a swing at him and missed. Shearer just stood his ground and stared through him whilst Keane was bouncing up and down like a thwarted loser. Sharers look just said "Keano, you are welcome to have another pop but you'd be making a big mistake". There was only going to be one winner and he wasn't Irish! I think our Roy was relieved that several players interposed themselves and even more relieved when he got sent off! Respect to Shearer though.

08 Dec 2017 20:44:02
Looking forward to the game tomorrow,
Think we'll win comfortably.
Nothing like a cold day to sing your hearts for the lads.
3 points and don't forget the song,
"And it's hi ho we love warbo" 🎅🎅🎅

FF79

1.) 08 Dec 2017 21:17:04
FF79

Are going to look around the Xmas markets at the Peter Taylor, and Brian Clough stands, and wear your free santa hat?

I think it will be our first draw.

2.) 08 Dec 2017 23:03:14
No chance of a draw, pull yourself together man.😅😅

3.) 09 Dec 2017 02:06:12
Come on grey and red man - be positive mate. Think more of a 3-1 victory 👍

4.) 09 Dec 2017 08:55:28
We will know in the first 10 minutes if Forest are up for it or not.

5.) 09 Dec 2017 09:13:39
Forest are never up for it in the first ten minutes, like 2tone said we should be positive.

6.) 09 Dec 2017 10:34:09
Sorry greyman markets are for women.
I go to football to get away from shopping and women,be having a few cheeky ones in the pub.
Forest and a few beers with your mates, what could be better.
Anyone missing the game to go shopping? Time you manned up and got your priorities right.😁😁😁

7.) 09 Dec 2017 10:46:03
I see you are still a man of the times FF79? Just a pity you are stuck in your 70/80's time warp with your attitudes!

Man up to the 21st century and show your feminine side before Blondie shows you the door?

8.) 09 Dec 2017 12:25:26
Yep red that's me,Just thought I'd wake up the banter site before heading off to the game.
Blondie ain't going knowhere, been nursing her for two weeks, after she broke her foot and ligaments.
Cooking washing, meals on wheels for her elderly parents,
Think I deserve my day at the footie, don't you?😀😀😀

9.) 09 Dec 2017 12:28:51
Well guys. I'll be nowhere near football today. it's the one time of the year, where I go Carol Singing in the town square, then it's off to the old folks home to hand out some mince pies, perhaps a game of Charades, and a good old fashioned festive singa long (my Specialty is that old Vera Lynne classic We'll Meet Again). then its off to visit the wonderful Mother in-law to spread some more festive merrymaking, and cheer, and just to finish off my fulfilling day,a nice glass of Alcohol free Mulled Wine. pure bliss.🎄🎄🎄🎅🎅🎅

10.) 09 Dec 2017 13:20:58
Great thing to do rogie, have a good un mate 🎄🎄🎄

11.) 09 Dec 2017 13:40:02

14.) 09 Dec 2017 15:28:58

15.) 09 Dec 2017 17:06:09

Start again halfway through a season, panic buy in January results don't improve, sack him and his staff, panic buy ,that don't work again.
Some sort of pattern here?oh well we 're bound to find a top manager eventually?.
Then before you know it, we need new owners, they're crapp.

Got know one else I've been saying for the last five years we lack a defensive midfielder,we are soft all over the park need to bring in some nasty types to do the dirty work.
It was a mistake giving manciene Vaughan and Cohen new contracts, should have dispensed with them as all we've done is struggle with them,They were hardly going improve.

Never arrogant though?
The world's a different place from when we grew up,as a granddad my grandkids will grow up far differently from me or my kids,it's just evolution, but you'll probably say " it was better in my day".

I just wish the forest players were more arrogant in their ability, it'd get more results.
