Thoughts on January signings. Marko Grujic 6 foot 2 from Liverpool 4-5 mill, can play centre or right midfield/ support striker and defensively sound for defending set pieces etc. and goalkeeper Ronnow for 3 mill. send Clough or Cummings out on loan and sell Velios seeing as he is surplus to MW's plans.

Sorry Daryl your not reading the script.
4 or 5 million plus his wages would be put of the question.
We are bargain basement shopping.

2.) 21 Dec 2017 21:58:53
I see some think Santa is coming early for Forest bearing expensive gifts?
Ho Ho Ho!

3.) 21 Dec 2017 22:31:45
FF79 You may well be correct, but we have not been made aware of what funds are available.Britt left after Marinakis, and I would hope those funds will be used for funding sales.I imagine wages for Grujic would be too high, but I guess that comes down to how much Marinakis is willing to fund a progressive future for the club.

4.) 21 Dec 2017 22:59:33
Don't think the Greeks will put any money in at all other than their initial buy.
So all I can see is "some" of the money from Britt being available.
Outgoings will be part of who we sign.
January isn't a good time to buy anyway as you get inflated prices for players due to clubs in relegation trouble.
If we can sign players for the long term in January, then great, but if it's just Loans or short term I'd rather go without

5.) 22 Dec 2017 11:21:38
We won't be able to afford either at the stated prices let alone taking into consideration the wages.

6.) 23 Dec 2017 08:34:19
Grujic interesting other clubs. Ronnov don't want to come to forest. can't see either happening. I think those who come in we haven't heard about yet. No big money signings as MW don't want to upset the team unity.

7.) 23 Dec 2017 11:39:30
Ronnow hasn't said he doesn't want to come to forest. He said in an interview 'it won't happen'. Which was probably because we couldn't afford the asking price.

8.) 24 Dec 2017 21:43:40
Sorry psycho. In my opinion from what has been said I don't think he wanted to come to us. Wanted a move to palace for prem footie I reckon.

When Burton are playing a high press game, it is ideal to put long balls over the top. Easy to say in hindsight but the pace of Appiah would of been a better option to Soudani. My condolences go to the Forest fans who went to watch a team of rusty strangers out thought, out run, and out of the cup by a team who played as a team. Good luck Burton, hope you get a plum tie in the next round.

I think Steele was unlucky too, zero protection. AK tried to give the 'fringe' players a chance and they let themselves down. If he'd played a few more academy players and we'd still lost, would he have got it wrong again? Seems to me AK can't do right in some eyes. If we'd played the 'first team' and picked up injuries, his fault again? Top 6 is the target, still achievable. We were never going to win the Cup, realistically, in my eyes a few less games to worry about. My only gripe would be Burton were hard working, brave on the ball, totally committed and wanted to win every battle more than us. That group of players, paid to wear our shirt, got what they deserved. Naff all. 😐

2.) 31 Oct 2018 18:12:27
According to Karanka all his squad are as good as one another so what went wrong and as for being out of the cup to get less games Jesus what a thing to say ask the forest fans now if they wanted to come out

Clearly nothing can be done about the goal and the result under the current system, only having VAR can change that. One thing that could be done is players charged with ungentlemanly conduct decided by a panel and a punishment dished out after the game. A three match ban for the player could deter others from what is cheating and making the officials job more difficult and receiving more backlash.

How the ref and linesman plus 4th official didn't see it astounds me. Or are they having back handers.
They shouldn't be involved in a professional game again. And roofe should be given a 3 match ban to deter other cheats.

2.) 28 Oct 2018 15:37:42
3 match ban is a ridiculous idea. The linesman should be dropped down to non-league officiating.

Brentford v Forest and Wigan v Bristol City last night both had an attendance of just over 10,000.It is nice to see that these teams are competing near the top with restricted budgets. I hope our lads can apply the same type of application and be at least top 8 by tonight.14 points form 8 games is not exactly where we want to be, but it would be a decent platform for the rest of the season. To go above the sheep today would also be great to quieten the sheep and their praise of their so called new messiah!

Was there really 10000. at Wigan? Looked a lot less

Ayew brothers and Bony set to leave Swansea. Shaquiri off to Liverpool from Stoke. Foster has already left WBA and McClean has walked out of training. I see the relegated sides making as little impact as last season in the championship. If Forest can click with the new personal on show, I feel top 4 is very possible. Apart from Boro, who else do you expect to be challenging?

I hope the "Karanka" affect comes into play. He has won his last 3 against the Owls!
Summary from BBC Sport. Nottingham Forest have lost each of their past seven league matches against Sheffield Wednesday.
Sheffield Wednesday have won their past four league visits to Nottingham Forest by an aggregate score of 10-1.
In all competitions, Forest manager Aitor Karanka lost his first three meetings with Sheffield Wednesday - but the Spaniard has won his past three in a row.
