As I see it, we just need somebody that can run at the opposition and beat a man. We are easy to defend against because none has the skill or pace to get past a player and create space.
In my opinion we were the better footballing side for large periods of the game but didn't punish them when on top.
They got chances and put them away.
Fox ripped to bits, Brereton too slow decision making, not ready yet.
But we have a few youngsters in the team and they need time to gain experience and so will make mistakes.
Still better football to watch than last season.

Maybe it's me, however I really don't think we have a true leader out there on the pitch, did anyone see any of our players handing out rollicking's, encouraging others,or just being vocal??? A bit of anger, and passion wouldn't go amiss.

After the Leeds game i said we tried to pass around them but if they did not have that option they just passed sideways and backwards. They need to get the confidence to take players on. It is harder to defend against someone running at you then passing it to a teammate then it is to having someone trying to passing it around you to a teammate while stood still.

Most teams in this league have pace. baffles me why he overlooks Carayol

Rogie think it's because McKay is superb on the left wing,it was noticeable yesterday how much trouble he caused Wednesday and what a superb pass from him to start our goal, when he move inside he looked like he belonged there too,but the minute he went right wing and Osborn went left to accommodate the subs he got lost,so to me the dilemma is do we play McKay left wing or centre mid?the only way carayol can get in is if that happens or we play him wide right and not sure that would suit him

Criticism of Fox and Brereton particularly in the first half is harsh. Both teams set up with a player out wide right Brereton and Wallace. SW got the ball out wide to Wallace quickly as Forest started with 3 at the back and overloaded Fox until Warbo switched formation. Brereton spent most of the first half out wide in acres of space like Wallace but with his hand up waving for the ball which never arrived.

The fundamental problem is that we do not move the ball into the opposition penalty area quickly enough which was the main difference between the teams.

RR. If you have a good footballing brain, and good technique pace is not that important

Rogie your right about a leader, unfortunately we can't say Hobbs as cannot be relied on to play regularly, the only other candidate is Eric and he's on his way out with no talks on a new contract and not in the plans from the look of it.
So yes we do require a leader, but one who can stay fit.
Think mills is the one from what we have but I know that won't go down well.

Redinexile well said you are right we do need to move it faster, maybe that will come the more the players get used to their roles?
Patience is needed it takes time to get 8 new players and the ones he inherited to get used to a system.
Going forward, in flashes you can see some quality shining through as in the goal, great play and execution all round.
Just got to keep the faith.

It is at championship level to be fair, pace hurts and it doesn't give the opposition time to put everyman behind the ball

Thought Brereton was poor yesterday and not sure he will fit into the way Warburton plays so I would get rid for decent money why he's worth it

For me mate,it's a must nowadays, the modern game just gets faster and faster.

Whilst that is correct, we take too long trying to get the ball forward, By the time we are in the opposition half, we are trying to thread a ball through 11 players who have had time to get behind the ball. It seems warburton has to justify buying the new players and play them at all costs. We are too top heavy with attacking midfielders who all do the same thing.

Yep but the players he's bought at the prices he's paid are value for money and better than what we had.
McKay alone was a steal pure quality never panics, totally comfortable on the ball even in tight situations won't be long before the big boys start bidding for him.

Have to have pace in a team. can't stop pace.
