Interesting article from Garry Birtles about forest tying Osbourne to a new deal. I I would definitely offer him a new deal, arguably our most versatile player and every squad needs one With such divided opinions on here I just wondered wat other forest fans feel about Oabourne staying long term and providing essential cover over the season. Or wat if he goes will that void be more prominent and we realise it was a mistake or will it be a handshake, thanks very much and life goes on .

Osborn deserves a deal, he is no Left Back playing in front of a back three suits him,but if the manager does not want him he has to choose very carefully. We do need players that are fast and who's first thought is to get forward.

He’s a good player, think he got the most assists last season. Plus he’s only 24 isn’t he? We’d be silly to let him go cheaply.

Clougie Good post but just wait for the " Get Rid" naysayers to start trolling you!

I'd keep Ben be nice to see him pass the ball forward more but saying that if their no one making runs what can you do and at 24 he's got plenty more to give and if they did sell him only going to replace him with a sicknote

Ben Osborne of our side he is versatile and hardly ever gets injured,
if we could get 4m+ for him I would let him go otherwise keep him as a squad player, if we are going to play three at the back with Robinson as a left sided cb then Bennys position as left wing back could work as he has a great engine and can make a tackle

If we can’t get Colback I’d say use Osborn in CM alongside Yates. We need a new LB, we can’t keep using Ben. Robinson is good but IMO is probably perfect on the left of a three man central defence with Milosovic on the right and Dawson/Figs in the centre. I think the most important thing is for MON to pick a formation.

I,ve said it before ,I,d like to see Benny become a Championship Kante ,not many players have the heart to do it but Benny does ,not putting him in Kante,s class but he like Kante can run all day ,if he,d could learn a a it more positionaly he could do it ,snapping and biting all over the pitch then playing a simple pass ,not beyond him.

Think Martin has got Yates earmarked for that role.
Thing is Osborn might want to go,he could be wanting to play centre mid on a regular basis.
To me he is genuine with a great engine, but can only see him as a utility player.
Out of all the positions he's played for forest, only left wing has he looked like holding down a place and playing wing back suits him.
He might feel he wants a different challenge and hold one position down,

Osborn isn’t clever, fast or strong enough for the Kante role. After watching Osborn all season the only time he looked effectivecomfortable was as a LWB. if he is to stay that should be his position in a backup role to someone with more quality.

7980, £4m+, you have a low opinion of Osborn, with a it of direction and the right players around him he would be a very effective player for us.

I'd let him go if we got a really good offer, say £5m+. If not, keep him. He's versatile and works hard, plus he's from the academy which is nice.

He's decent at LWB but, for me, he's too slow to be truly effective in a wide position. IMO, his best position is as a central midfield work-horse. Work hard and give it simple.

It's been tried though before and not worked, hes not a good tackler,he just dances in front of players with his arms out wide.

I'm not a massive Osbourne fan BUT I have noticed he is the one player that is totally on Carvallio's wavelength and they feed off each other really well

With 1 year left on his contract 4-5m is surely fantasy land

79. That has been our problem, we have been programing the team wrong by putting the 0's and 1's the wrong way round. 😁

I hope he stays, he has great energy and enthusiasm for the game, he would walk into any other Championship team. I think we would really miss this and his versatility.

He wouldn’t walk into any of the top 6 teams
