Ed surely in this democracy we still live in the club should be allowed to appeal against the ' Hand of God ' goal. As someone else said the crowd behind the linesman were very intimidating and probably threatened him. Has the 4 th official got a TV to look at, as he has something to look at, who was he I wonder, Also the player admitted cheating and his guilt on TV, so surely there is a minimum automatic ban for that player. How often are red cards overturned? When we appeal - hardly ever, so why can't our barrister director write a letter on behalf of the club. I cannot believe the linesman, referee or 4th official didn't see.

{Ed001's Note - the referee would have to admit to making a mistake, so you can forget that as they are more likely to claim a change of interpretation of the laws of the game than they are to admit they got it wrong.}

We live in a bureaucracy, doc, not a democracy. He didn't admit to cheating at all. He said the ball hit his hand which isn't the same. Cheating to me is diving to get a penalty/freekick or to get someone sent off. Would you call a Forest player a cheat if he did the same? Which I would hope they would if it meant putting the ball in the net. Automatic ban's for a handball whether deliberate or not sets a dangerous precedent in my opinion.

In my opinion it does not matter whether a player deliberately dives to get a penalty or free kick,or what happened yesterday, it is cheating. The difference however is what happened yesterday counted as a Goal as All Officialdom were at fault. Deliberately diving for a free kick, even if All Officialdom are at fault the penalty, or free kick still needs to be converted. Therefore yesterday's actions was worse, although cheating in any form is wrong.

Of course he’s cheated,he knows the ball has gone in off his hand and run off claiming the goal so it’s as bad as diving for a penalty,am not saying any player in the world wouldn’t have done the same but he’s conned the ref and Lino and has cheated, you can call it what you like, football is so morally bankrupt it doesn’t raise an eyebrow anymore cheating is endemic in the game

I was more concerned at the position of the ball watching dias. That was the bigger crime. Pants as usual nowhere. My first reaction was offside as i did not realise he had handled. either way they broke us down and the ball was on its way anyway. Hard to swallow but no thteat on their goal second half is the same old. AK is wounding us by playing carvallaho and Dias. We don't need it

I'd still expect one of our players to put the ball in the net with any part of his body if need be. Then let the officials do their job and disallow the goal. I wouldn't expect any player to then go the ref and say 'sorry mate I handballed that so don't give it'.

Psycho clough think I said any other player in the world would have done what he did but you said he didn’t admit to cheating which by saying he put the ball in with his hand he clearly did admit to cheating

Dias was perfectly right ball watching, he was sat on the bench at the time. let's just blame him anyway?

He said the ball hit his hand which is implying ball to hand not hand to ball. Hand to ball, which is what it was, is an offence. Ball to hand, which he said it was, is not an offence. So he is not admitting to 'cheating'.

He also said he didn’t know whether the ref would give it or not ‘implying ‘ he knew what he did wasn’t legal,ie claiming an illegal goal =conning the officials =cheating

To me everyone has seen this, so you can’t tell me the referee hasn’t seen this on TV since. It is my view Roofe should get an automatic suspension . You could see clearly he held his hand out as he knew he could not head it or kick it in. Will somebody tell me who the 4th official was and does he have a tv monitor

We'll have to agree to disagree. I very much doubt you'd be calling one of our players a cheat if he did the same as Roofe. In fact I know you wouldn't.
