Let's start the day with a moan,it,s been said McKay and Cummings were allowed to leave because they made little impact but stats show this time last year they,d made more impact than the 3 Iberians have this time round ,as Greavesie used to say ,it,s a funny old game?

AK wants a certain character in his squad, McKay lightweight and not up for the fight, Cummings obviously still immature. This leads to the question of Ollie Burke being available in Jan, do we want him back? Could he be a bad egg though?

What stats? We are a much stronger team without them and Scots are technically inferior!
The Scotland results without these two tell you all you need to know about stats and that they have found their level?

Stats are too ambiguous to read too much into.

I agree to some extent but the Brentford owner uses stats in order to buy and loan players which they have done fairly well by.

{Ed001's Note - that's not the full story, they used to do that, but they found they were not always identifying the right players by the pure use of stats. Now they use the stats in order to identify the players to scout. Matthew Bentham would love to just use stats, as he made his fortune out of stats analysis and it is his company that provides the stats the team use.}

Ed001
I was obviously not aware of that, you learn something new every day. Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - it has been a developing process and part of the reason Mark Warburton and co left the club, as they wanted to move away from the stats. Brentford brought a guy from Bentham's Danish club Midtjylland (I hope that is spelt right!) to take charge of recruitment and he has changed it significantly. It does still rely heavily on stats to identify most of the players they sign, but they no longer sign without repeated scouting too.}

Neither Cummings or McKay were good enough mentally or physically to get it done consistently over a championship season.

Thankfully we don't accomodate lightweights at the club anymore.

Without the ability to man manage stats count for very little.

It is debatable, would they play better with the new players we have. Without AK having tried them with the new players we will never know.

Stats stats stats. Football isn't all about stats, if it was I'd be winning a lot more money on my accas at the weekend.

Who is the main man at a club of course it,s the manager and it,s his job to get players to perform consistantly,the reason we been out of the big time for so long is not having the right manager ,let's hope this time we have but the jury's still out on AK ,seems to me he,s not given everyone a fair crack but let's hope this dosen,t kill morale because team spirit is so vital and when the manager as they say loses the dressing room it,s all over .

Stats? Who was it that said football isn't played on paper?

I think Cummings still has some potential and it was his immature attitude that turned AK off which is why he got loaned out as if he grows up he potential could still be seen in Garabaldi one day but after a amazing start on loan he has faded and isn’t even starting many games which I wonder if that is due to attitude! McKay was light weight and though had a few tricks up his sleeve I think his attitude was awful. Looked like he didn’t care and was lazy and moody towards end of last season. Dias, Carvalho etc have much more positive attitudes and better work ethic.
