Aitor has said the new signings will bring character to the team both on and off the pitch, but they will need time to get up to speed.

The thing is if the team, not just the new players do not get up to speed and sharpish Aitor will be out of work before all his work has been completed.

That's the problem with signing players with no club or preseason behind them,if you rush them into the side they just get injured.
The last batch we lost the Iranian and Spanish lad to injuries,that's what happens when your not match fit.

Interesting times ahead. For my money AK is not the man, sorry but no progression, just chaos. Having said that is he making himself teflon? Most of his signings are not match fit and of a foreign nature. Lose tomorrow and the nightmare begins. Or does it? If they sacked him who would want the job with so many maverick travellers in the squad? A new broom would want his own type of player and that would be impossible now. Way too costly and how could anyone ship out more dross to make way for new faces??? So AK is making it his job for the long term and someone upstairs must have absolute faith in him. Massive game tomorrow from the fans perspective!!!

Aps1952 i'am not sure he gave the squad he inherited a fair crack. He decided hastiky that cummings and mckay were not right but replaced them with lightweight portuguese. 13mil gets you a recognised striker in this league and the 7mil on grabon gets you a class midfielder. The recruitment this last fortnight suggests that AK is not happy even with the players he brought in. It must effect morale within the squad. I hope and pray that i am wrong and am munching on huge humble pie in a week or two's time.
Btw just watched Hefele's interview on youtube. " we are Nottingham Forest and the crowd give us more than 10% lift "
He could be a very astute bit of business from AK and at 300k a snip.

The squad AK inherited was garbage, Mckay was too inconsistent & easy to bully out the game, Cummins a 2nd rate off the shoulder striker who has no place in a lone striker role.

Dont see a problem with the recruitment bar lack of cover for Carvalho & Guedioura, the second of which Karankas just dealt with.

Squad isn't that bloated, its got decent depth to call on when the inevitable injuries hit.

Seems to be an anti AK vibe on here, not sure why, he's firmed us up at the back, shown glimpses of what to expect going forward & put some decent players on the books.

We concede every game,usually about two and that's with the jolly green giant in goal,plus two holding midfielders to protect them as well.
We havnt improved one bit in that department my friend

How much consistency do you want after 6 games with a new side & the missing link at the base injured?

As for firming up? Check the concession rates. We were about 1 a game end of last season, about 1.2 now. may not look much, but against the 1.6 odd under MW, that's a significant improvement.

Ak was always going to start this back to front, foundations in place, now to put performances like The Brom one in on a consistent basis, things will take shape.

Them who want a change, how has bailing out & leaving the next guy with the players worked for us in the past?

The changes i want Cjay are performances improving, and winning more games than we draw. Firmed up the back implies it has been sorted, all has been done is it going from absolutely rubbish to rubbish.

Cjay there's only one other manager that would come into a club and go about it in such a reckless way and that's Harry.
Karanka decided to go down that route and now we have 29 first team players,be hard for any manager to make that work.
Doesn't matter what we think as fans because the owners are expecting success for supporting him,so patience isn't a word Mr marinakis understands,usually gets through a couple of managers a year at olympiacos.
Said it before I hope he succeeds,but it's 29 games now and were not moving forwards.
You say about consistency? Well after the Brom game he made changes and has continued to do so,so how do you consistency by doing that?
Stats can distort what is actually happening as we are only capable of scoring one or two and not capable of a clean sheet,with that wins will be hard to come by.

Firmed up at the back means we're conceding less goals, we are. Only glaring issue I see defensively is set pieces, with slight QMs at FB.

Teams concede goals btw, why is it fans see us concede & condemn the whole thing as rubbish.

Id understand if we were churning out these performances at Christmas, but we're 6 games in!

Brief is promotion in 2 seasons, wheres the panic?

What is it about the Karanka blueprint at Championship Middlesborough we don't like here? i'm not sure Boro fans were complaining when he got them up with heavy recruitment.

Wheres he been reckless? 13 mill in a class Portugese midfielder & 6 mill on a striker who put 20 goals away last season. Certainly not an amount to give you a divine right to win every game.

The rest look a decent mix of quality & experience with minimal outlay.

29 isn't a bloated squad, its bang average for the championship.

I don't get it, we have a manager with a style clearly conducive to Championship promotion & you want to revert to a style that failed the last guy.

Or maybe Allardyce, who plays a similar attritional style to the one you don't want, but his promotion was back in 2012.

AK has had more than ample time to figure out his best players.
But guess what when they perform he drops them and brings in more midfielders?

Warburton was bad but ak is a hell of a lot worse.
You say we moan but we all pay good money to see our team do well and entertain us but that has yet to come into fruition has it not?

Cjay when the players start playing every game like the Newcastle game and not just turning up against just relegated PL sides, and current PL sides we will be happier. Progress, then wins,i was not expecting winning most games, just hard work, passion, and progression.
