Currant bun on Sun say we are looking at Lewis Grabban at 30 and an asking price of £5 million just what we need another worn out journeyman, plus he will have hardly any resale price. ☹️

Salty Redp, I'm not one that wants a team of thirty years old and over, but a player that can score 20 goals in the Championship, and he played in the relegated Sunderland side can only be a good thing.

A two year contract with large bonuses for goals scored and an option for a third year would be fair. If his goals were by chance got us to the Premiership resale value would be irrelevant.

Everyone seems fixated on age look at villa Terry 37, Snodgrass 30, elmohamady 30, adomah 30, grabban 30, kodjia 30, plus more but I'm bored of typing and they have just won the first leg of the playoffs

This is the problem James, everyone wants the fairytale of Academy started taking us to the promised land - not going to happen.

Completely agree 2 star that's why are youth go onto such good things because they become surrounded but experience don't get me wrong don't want a whole team of older players but it's clearly working for other teams with 7 or 8 players in late 20's early 30'splus a few younger lads but as fans we seem obsessed with and average age of 20 then moan when we don't have the experience to win games

You need experience, Karanka knows this and that’s why he bought players like Watson, Pantillimon, Geddy, Tomlin and Colback in even Lolley who experienced promotion with Huddersfield last year and also bringing Fox and Lichij back into the back four towards the end of the season.
I expect Karanka to build an experienced core though the team with the youth given roles around that so they also have freedom to play. I expect a experienced Goalie (Pantillimon?), Centre back (Dawson?), Central midfielder (Colback?) and Forward (Grabban or Rhodes?) to come in as well as a few younger exciting players such as Maddison, Marriot as well as the likes of Fig, Worrall, Osbourne, Cash and Brereton all continuing but their growth without them having to always play and have the bulk of the responsibility lay at their door as it has in recent years.

Villa will probably do it .
They have the manager to do that job.
But will they stay there?
Probably not, Bruce will get you there but that's it.
Relegation is what is on the cards next.
Club like villa if they got promoted would need to find a new manager if they want to stay there?
Wenger available?

Rhodes to nowhere as he needs another up top. If Norwich want him let's get Oliveria back?

Red you don't like Scott's as signings anyway.
But on this one you are so right.
The reason he's never been top flight. is he's a luxury and brings nothing to the table other than being a poacher?
Karanka signed him once for 10million.
That went well?
