We all know we need a couple of players that can fit into the managers system up front that can score regularly to turn us into a team that wins more than we draw, but we can not be silly with what we spend.

Taking into consideration what Tobias will cost us what are we likely to be willing to spend on each of the two players up front in the transfer window, or are they going to be loans.

They're not going to cost a fortune that's for sure,we won't pay top wages and quality players demand a top wage,That's just football.
Think it will depend on how many he can off load first.
The squad will need reducing by at least ten plus Vaughan and Cohen and Hobbs and ward going,think there will be a massive cull as quite a few aren't good enough.
Some youngsters will be given frees as well,evtimov Lacovitti Walters aryibi aren't going to make it at this level.
Karanka is in a good position if he can get money for clough Eric manciene vellios grant McKay Cummings traore and even cash in on Worrall.
Think a lot will depend on that happening first it will free up a lot in wages as well.
There will be a lot of transfer activity this summer I believe,the likes we've never seen before

Agree with your assessment of the squad 79 although I think I'd keep Clough and maybe McKay.As you say quality strikers will cost big money unless you take a chance on a rough diamond in league 1/2 or take a risk on a player with injury problems or not playing at their club for whatever reason which is a gamble either way.

Perks the thing with clough for me is, the first few games he looked the part, but for whatever reason he's been shocking when selected this term, McKay started the season brilliantly and has an eye for a killer pass and can score, it's just his inconsistency. me I'd let clough go and keep McKay and if cash is out for a few weeks I'd like to see him given a go, but he needs to show his early season form to convince Karanka imo.

AK said the squad were stupidly low on confidence when he joined and we have seen players like Darinkwa, Fox, Cash and Osbourn all find more confidence since and play some of their best football for the Club and for a while. I think he loaned Clough out to a club he knew to try to get his confidence back. it might not have worked but if he can find belief again like he had when he first joined he could still play a part and I think AK will be working on that with several players who have shown quality in the past but lost their way in the second half of this season. Personally still think he might give Worrall, Manchienne, Lam, Clough, Mckay, Bridcutt, Smith and Vellios chances to show what they can do in a confident team that has a proper leader and captain either in last few games of this season or ore-season and first half of next before moving them on.
