Well there's a surprise! Welsh FA to take no action over Chief Exec Jonathon Ford comment that next Welsh manager will definitely not be English! How is that not racist? Just transpose "black""Jewish" or "Pakistani"? Guess we English don't count!

StokeyRed

You in my opinion are over reacting.

Football is about rivalries, why would Wales want a English manager?

Also in the past i have seen on the news some English people living in Wales having had their homes set on fire, so they hate English people with a passion, why then would the Welsh FA want a English manager.

Stokey, Stokey, Stokey please don't get dragged into a false 'race' argument. English is not a race it's a nationality. The Welsh FA are not being racist, they're being prejudice. Good on them because in no way in heaven and hell would I accept a Welshy for the England job. Good healthy rivalry and banter, long may it continue. Still want the the Taffy's part of the union, mind. Boyo.😀

Yep, so glad they are not in world cup, haven't forgot some of their team being video jumping for joy when we lost to iceland

Wales need the best manager they can attract so the guy is a muppet for ruling out English managers that are at least 40% of the options?

Maybe they should appoint Mike England as manager and keep everybody happy?

That'll put Giggs out of the equation then?
Even though he was a great servant to them, can't give it an Englishman?
Be ironic if they do a point him

Scouseduckred, Ford is clearly in breach of the provisions of the Race Relations Act 1976 as amended by the Equality Act 2010 relating to discrimination against a person on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, ethnicity and ethnic origins relating to many fields including opportunity of employment. As far as England employing a non Englishman as a manager I wouldn't care if he or she was a purple spotted 6 armed 3 headed alien from the planet Zog as long as we won the World Cup!

Incidentally,a solicitor mate of mine thinks any unsuccessful English applicant for the job would have a good case in civil law for damages under the legislation in view of the comments of Ford even prior to interview. At the very least Ford has shown himself a Mickey mouse leader of a third rate chicken s##t organization and damaged their credibility and reputation.

Stokey it's Christmas let it go .
Racism is a terrible thing, this isn't racism otherwise Giggs and lots of others wouldn't have played for them,as there as Welsh as me,pure English.
Look at one of your posts on the other post sites and it's clear you don't like the Welsh.
That's up to you,but what would you call that?
It's an opioion from my point of view with no malice attached.
We live in a world of political correctness, but as long as there is no malice intended, then you should take some comments as tongue in cheek and not look too deeply to find offence,Just saying.

{Ed007's Note - This whole thread is bizarre! Hasn't guys like Harry Redknapp and Wenger said England managers should be English before? If players need to be eligible to play for a country why isn't it the same for managers?}

To me edd it's great Britain never understood why we are one country and yet have different football teams.
Olympics it's great Britain and wether your Scots eng Welsh or ni if your successful.you get a knighthood.
Don't see any refusals?
We are better united as a country but football is different as there is a devide from town to town, never mind border to border.

If the country became devided,be a sad day.
Can't stand international football any more anyway, the breaks spoil my Saturdays.

{Ed007's Note - International football's garbage, I lost all respect for it back in '94 when Diana Ross miskicked her penalty at the opening ceremony of the World Cup and the goal still blew up like she had scored. How can you take it seriously after that?
Anyone that accepts a knighthood's worth the watching...... But that's not really for on here ;)

Grey, the race relations laws are all about combating hatred and bigotry which have no place in a civilised society and certainly no place in football. Also thank goodness English owned homes in Wales are no longer routinely set on fire.

If you burn property it's a small step to start burning people, that type of criminality marked the rise of National Socialism in post Weimer Germany which ended in the Holocaust! If you think I'm over reacting consider the storm that would erupt if a Home Secretary said "we definitely won't have a black, Asian or Jewish person as the next Metropolitan Police Commissioner"!

Ryan Giggs ticks all the right boxes for getting the Welsh job for getting on with the Wales FA:

1. Commitment - Only played for Wales when Fergie let him out.

2. Loyalty - Cultivates a happy family/team environment, then shafts those closest.

3. Management - 4 matches wearing a nice suit and sitting quietly on the bench. A PR dream!

4. Football Experience - 963 matches having his bottom wiped and every need taken care of by others to get him on the pitch.Just the empathy he needs for dealing with the majority of the Welsh squad.

5. Personality - Has anyone ever heard him say anything meaningful?

This appointment should get them off any breach of race relations law, but might fall foul of the Sale of Goods Act?

StokeyRed

I would suggest your heart is in the right place, but No Law can change people's mind set.

If you have a belief, be it from your own choosing, or it being drummed into you, no law will change your mind set.

You can hate without it being racial.

History has got the English as a nation of warmongers which other nations, and countries have never forgiven.

Criminal activity is unacceptable, but but i do not believe what was said was a criminal act, otherwise most if not all of us would be jailed for something, or other.

In my opinion Sports and Politics should rarely come together, i would have thought you would be more bothered by the hooligans that are thought to be waiting in Russia.

You are mixing entertainment, which should be FUN with politics which is Serious.

A Home Secretary coming out with what you said would be wrong, but let's face it, it would be very unlikely to happen as with the country having so many different nations, and races evry political party are try to stop that sort of wrong doing by positive selection of others not from England.

Stokey, it's discrimination then not racism. My point exactly, if you throw the race card about Willy Billy, it loses it's impact. Regarding the police job, the black and Asian candidate would have grounds but the Jewish one only discrimination on the grounds of religious belief. It's a minefield, if he'd said best person for the job, he wouldn't have discounted women either! On no Ed, what have we done? I need a pint. Ps I work in Halewood, still a long way to go before they join the 21st century.😉

Ok ok enough already! Rant over, sorry if I stirred up a hornets (or should it be dragon's) nest ed! Let's get back to the small matter of our beloved Reds playing the in form 3rd placed Bristol City tomorrow! Just as a closing remark,I lived in Wales for 3 years and met both my wives there and found that 99 per cent of the people were thoroughly decent, hard working, kind and great to be with, one per cent d###heads which is about the same percentage as every other place I've visited or lived in including Nottingham. I have no antipathy towards the Welsh or any other racial or ethnic group and met many Welsh friends. In fact I'm off to Abrearon on Monday for a weeks pre Christmas holiday (seriously) where obviously I will be incognito! As for Ryan Giggs I have no opinion of him whatsoever and as for Russian football hooligans I strongly urge my compatriots to be careful and ideally watch the World Cup from the safety of your living rooms as the Russian hard-core are numerous and organized on para military lines such that they make even Millwall look like fussy cats!

We are all citizens of the world and our DNA ancestry can be traced back to the early civilizations so what on earth are you all arguing about?

The world would be a better place if everyone claimed Jerusalem as their capital and insisted their country of citizenship opened an embassy there!

At least that way no-one should be offended as a citizen of the world melting pot?

Blue Mink were spot on in 1969!
