Just watched Hibs v Rangers, our transfer target McGinn looked head and shoulders above any other midfielder on the pitch. He's energetic, tough, strong and can spray it accurately long and short. He's always wanting the ball and takes a clever free kick! Would be a good acquisition on that performance imo.

You could be right, but Dowell will not be here next season so who if Clough goes will replace either him or Dowell in your opinion.

Just watched the Leicester highlights. While we do not have a Vardy their brand of playing on the front foot and turning the defenders when pressed by the opposition is great to watch and very effective winning football.
Just hope MW gets the right players into play a similar brand of football?

We won't be able to afford or attract Mcginn. Celtic will get him as Hibs will want £5-£8 million. We have no chance whatsoever.

Even if we got him, he would have to hit the ground running. Look at all the Scottish players are rubbish when we got McKay and Cummings, and they cost peanuts to the prices you mention.

Celtic cannot afford him at £5-8m and he only has 6 months left on his contract in any event which means circa £2m max.

It will boil down to wages and how ambitious he is to play in a proper league?

{Ed007's Note - Ex-Celtic chairman's grandson and Celtic season ticket holder Jack McGinn's contract runs until 2019. I wouldn't be at all surprised if a deal hasn't been done already that'll make McGinn's dreams come true and take him to Celtic Park to win trophies and play in the CL. Playing for a Mark Warburton team struggling year after year in the second tier of English football isn't in his immediate plans, maybe if Derby go up this year though......

Only thing I would say edd,is do you have a crystal ball as he's not been in charge one full season to say we struggle year after year under him?

{Ed007's Note - Well every other club did and I said when he was appointed I didn't see Forest being any different. Warburton won't be Forest manager this time next year, how's that for a prediction?}

Well see edd but at this moment in time we need some stability and if he fails it's going to be a big upheaval again because mcparland would have to go as well.
Understand your point of view but,you could say half the managers in the league won't be at their current clubs this time next year and you'd be right,it's just the way football is,can't all be winners.
Merry Xmas have a good one and happy New year.

{Ed007's Note - Down in England the majority of managers seems to be about 6 games from the sack and are judged on 6 game cycles, even at some PL clubs, it's crazy. Merry Christmas to you too FF and a happy New Year when it comes.}

McGinn won’t come to us, we couldn’t afford him in the summer no chance now. Time to understand where we aren’t ?
