The teams that have beaten us are playing spoilball. They set out to stop us playing flowing football and they know the tactics to do that. Generally they score against us on the break, or from set pieces which we defend badly. So we need tactics to stop both of those things happening. The question is whether we have the players to do that, and that is difficult to answer looking at our squad. To me we still seem to lack an inspiring leader on the pitch who can tackle these issues, unless Eric is given a chance. We are where we are in the table and I'd be happy if we finish in the top half of the table.

We're the architects of our downfall with too much negative passing. To the side then the other side then back again. Not enough inventiveness at times. All gets repetitive and predictable.

I think warbos tactics is to bore the opposition to sleep by passing sideways and backwards across the back four then when they are nodding off catch them on the break.we need to be more direct with our passing and do it with a bit of pace.its all too slow and predicatable and we will be found out by the better teams.

Pincer movement without the tanks lol!
Yes the lads move the ball ok but without pressing forward and applying pressure teams sit back and pounce on the break.
I wouldn't say we are slow I'd say the players are attuned into the passing element and then the lights seem to go off when the opposition has the ball.
In warburton we have neither a here or there approach to tatics predictable and easy to overcome.
He needs to try and adapt play to overcome oppositions style of play if he adapted this approach who knows what he could achieve.
It is a good job he isn't an officer in the forces lol. he would have no men left to fight!. Captain Mannering springs to mind🤣🤣

i have found that to combat the crap forest churn out. sitting watching paint dry or watching water evaporate is much more enjoyable
you can sit int the warmth not have to pay extortionate price either.and at the end of it all there's no inquest of what went wrong as it is with the forest inquest

Have to agree with most posts here. We play the passing game for the sake of it to accommodate the managers fantasy football dogma. Until we play the passing game with pace and a purpose we will always struggle to break teams down as we have limited players who can run at the opposition with that pace and purpose to break them down.

I agree with all these posts. The guy next to me on Sunday said 'What a pity we can't move the goals to the touch lines. We'd be top of the league by now.' Continuously passing the ball from side to side in our own half gives oppositions ample time to stack loads of men behind the ball and then wait to hit us on the break or with headers which we still defend poorly at times.

Dr N even if the pitch was 5 a side sized it would still be the same scenario. .me to you. you to me. etc etc. 2 passes to the left then to right then backwards. . never forwards. hmmm the wonderful tactics of the breadman. maybe he does it to confuse the opposition into thinking all the side to side and backwards passing will become a magic trick!
Just like that!
