Pearce to offer Matt Derbyshire a new deal. He sees him as currently the best striker that we have.

Matt derbyshire thoroughly deserves a new contract, played with determination, passion, pride , given a run in the side scoring goals taking chances, not a prima donna like cox, sc attitude is i'm untouchable i'd have md leading front line every game over cox

On Forest strikers, when someone leaves the club, they normally get a run in a side. holt, Lester etc where as we chop and change, a settled front two and maybe we would get those stats of 20 goal a season etc. I give you saunders/cambell - collymore/Roy see my point! Thought MD was superb yesterday!

It's a nonsense to offer the guy an extension based on 4 games. It would have been difficult to miss 3 of those goals. The best we've got is still not good enough - the hunt for a 20-a-season man must go on.

I am not saying we don't need one, my point is we need to settle on a front two and give them a run of at least 5-10 games. Forest have not named a settled strikeforce all year. Tuds, Miller, Derbyshire, Cox, Dejebour, Henderson. maybe blackstock/abdoun also? none of them apart from cox given a sustained run!

Mig, how on earth can u suggest that those two yesterday were straight forward goals. That is just nonsense mate. They were absolutely fantastic composed finishes. Whilst four games doesn't make a great striker the all round performances he has put are best from a centre forward this season without doubt. And to be fair to him, when given a run pre-season he did the business and he has again the last few games. I think a 12 month extension would be well earned

Agree with Keeno, 12 month contract would be justifiable given his record when he's played this year. forest shouldn't do what they did with blackstock and offer 4 1/2 years, ridiculous.

Migg we can't exactly offer him a new contract based on a run of more than 4 games because he has not had a run longer than that to show what he can do. And as for the easy finishes I guess you have to be in the right place at the right time to finish them.
