Colback close to permanent deal at City Ground

If he prefers money to playing football then let him rot in Newcastle's stiffs. If he's willing to take a pay cut then sign him.

Don’t really understand this obsession with other people’s wages, aren’t we just fans? Let the owner worry about how much he pays his staff. , after all he is footing the bill not us,

3.) 12 Jul 2018
12 Jul 2018 21:27:01
Well said Stevie you'd think it was their money.

4.) 12 Jul 2018
12 Jul 2018 22:45:20
If it’s something you care about you’d be stupid not to think or worry about potentially huge amounts of money going through or out of our club. Just like you’d worry at work if there was no orders coming into the company but your boss all of a sudden swopped his bmw for an Aston Martin because he was sure that if everything went well a big order would drop in soon. There’s no getting away from the fact that we need to think about the welfare of our club as owners cannot continually pump money into a club, they don’t love the club in the same way as we do and we shouldn’t forget that. We don’t directly foot the bill but we have to deal with the consequences.
If I’ve taken the bait-congratulations but if it’s a genuine post I am shocked and surprised that that’s how you’re thinking 🤔

2tone sorry didn’t realise you were privy to the fine detail of how the clubs finances are structured, do you think the owner has suddenly just decided to throw HIS money around with no plan if he ha all the amateur accountants on here bleating won’t stop him , and if not the club might actually cease to be the modern day footballing irrelevance it has become over the last few years, nobody on here really knows what players are being paid , nobody on here’ knows the details of any negotiations with colback so why not leave it to the people who everybody has been saying are now running the club properly?

6.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 07:02:25
i don't think we can or should forget that we were in a transfer embargo due to FFP that almost ruined the club and had a massive effect on the footballing side of things. I trust the owner to make the right call etc but these things are important for championship clubs spending more than their income

7.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 07:24:52
It's a loan move, not perminant.

8.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 08:54:38
wages are included in ffp though aren't they?

9.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 09:43:28
Steve. You obviously missed the point of what I was getting at. What money he is on is irrelevant. Colback has said that he won't budge off the wages he is on. (£40,000 a week is the reported figure). That is probably above what we are willing to pay otherwise he would already be here. I'd rather have a player that wants to come to play football than a player that wants to come for money.

13 Jul 2018 10:44:28
Jenko it didn’t ruin the club though did it? We are now a couple of years later in a position where we have a better owner, a better run club , and spending millions on players,we are on the threshold of 1 of potentially the most interesting seasons for years , interest is higher than it has been for years and all we seem to get on here is people moaning about players wages. I got a good idea let’s see if pratley and whittingham are available,

11.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 11:03:38
Psycho if the management at the club think he’s worth the money they pay , if not they won’t didn’t miss your point just think it’s out of supporters hands we don’t know the real figures involved so aren’t in a position to make an informed comment

12.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 12:11:11
You did miss the point. The amount is irrelevant. I was referring to the player's intention. Does he want to play football or is his sole motivation just money??

13.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 12:22:12
Id say somewhere along the line that someone could be missing the point??
Lol😁😁😁

14.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 12:52:16
The point is that this is a rumours banter site. All things Nottingham Forest are open to conjecture as we are Nottingham Forest fans! Almost any subject raised on this site is potentially a contentious issue! In essence we are here to offer opinions and embark upon in depth discussions along the way. Disagreements will arise as will misunderstandings! If this were not to be the case there would be no need for a site such as this. THAT'S the point! Oh and by the way COMMON YOU REDS!! I think that we can all agree on that point!

15.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 13:09:27
Stevie- it didn’t ruin the club though did it?? It nearly did mate and look at the state of some other clubs that have gone flat out and spent a fortune with no plan b ie. villa. We do appear to have a much more professional set up and hopefully we do have a long term back up policy but to be ignorant of the possible issues is ludicrous. If it doesn’t happen in the next year or two we will suffer for it. I’m quietly confident but also realistic and cautious about possible outcomes

16.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 13:28:19
2tone you can’t nearly ruin something, name me one major club that’s gone out of business you obviously have no faith in an owner who has a track record in running a biggest club than us successfully for a number of years

17.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 13:34:36
Good post 2 tone I hope that clears up any points.
If you've missed anything I'm sure it will be pointed out and too the point.😂😂😂

18.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 14:46:31
Psycho because a man doesn’t want to take a drop in wages how does that make him money motivated??i could understand it if he was asking for more money, and like I said if the club don’t think he’s worth it they won’t pay it will they

19.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 15:31:33
I don't think many people on here would give up a million or so n his position

20.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 16:25:01
I have read the posts so I’ll have my say.
If Colback is holding out for the 40grand a week is this economically justifiable to NFFC?
If money is his only motivation surely we should look elsewhere.
If he was passionate about football he should realistically see he’s dropping down a division and thus his command of 40k a week is him throwing his toys out the pram wanting a club to meet his demands.
This says to me he thinks he's better and more than he’s actually worth.
Stevie f look at Villa and Terry as an example.
Benitez can keep him for me.

21.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 17:04:39
Do one ff799 🤣
Stevie - i was nearly ruined when I thought ‘ it was coming home ‘ but I came to my senses, stopped drinking and didn’t go in the bookies. I also nearly ruined my England top when the beer started to fly the other night - missus got the stain remover on it and sorted it though. Thank god for our saviours however they appear 🤣🍻

22.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 17:31:09
2tone think we’ll agree to disagree mate😊

23.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 18:43:13
Well you two what was the "point"in all that? 😁😁

24.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 19:07:57
That’s the point there was no point if you get the point

25.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 19:35:57
It’s rude to point 👈

26.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 20:32:20
I wanted to make a point,but after all the points,I can't see the point??🤣🤣🤣

27.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 21:05:39
It's the 3 points Saturday/Tuesday we should all be concerned about.

28.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 21:33:48
Now that's a good "point" perks.
Really sometimes it's so pointless.🤣🤣🤣

29.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 22:17:44
Maybe the point is that points mean prizes?

30.) 14 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 23:40:46
Well we had to get there in the end.🤔🤔

31.) 14 Jul 2018
14 Jul 2018 09:26:23
What's the name of that quiz show hosted by Alexander Armstrong??

32.) 14 Jul 2018
14 Jul 2018 23:02:50
And the point is Colback will be coming if the deal works for both club and player so calm down dears!
