Seen a suggestion that AK could be lining up Stuani for the main striker role, the main factor that is holding up the move, is Uruguay's progression in the WC.

NickG, we didn't see enough of him against Portugal but if Cavani is injured then France will be a proper test for him. If AK wants a strong, mobile forward to hold the ball up and bring our midfielders into the game, he could fit. Murphy can hold it up but not mobile enough, Brereton mobile enough but not good at keeping the ball. A big piece of the puzzle is still missing.

Nick, we have been linked to him but if he joins us, or not i doubt Uruguay's progression has done anything to hold up him joining us, unless his club are hoping him to shine so they can bump up the price a bit more.

Scouseduckred It’s only a suggestion however it makes sense,the fact that he’s at the World Cup,preventing him from flying into EMA(or any airport of your liking)to complete the deal.It is also possible that AK could be waiting to see the impact that Stuani makes at the WC,however as you stated,that would be an opportunity for Girona to bump the price of the fee up.

Nick, i know that at some point the manager will want to talk face to face but i would have thought his agent would do most of the talking, then once things get to a advanced stage the manager would fly out to the player. There is also video conferencing if it comes to it.
