I hate to say this, but I watched a couple of his youtube clips last night, and wasn't that impressed. He may have scored a lot of goals, but when you look at the standard of what he was playing against, it was very very poor. He won't get the time and space to play like he does in the championship. I hope I'm wrong, but I think he will struggle at this level.

YouTube shouldn’t be used to judge a player just to get an insight into what they offer and what I see is a strong skilful striker who can finish chances and create his own ones if need be he’s an experienced goal scorer just hope he can do it for us, to me he looks exactly like what we need in front of the Portuguese lads

Fawaz - Assombalonga was unproved at Championship level as well and it didn’t phase him. We’ve just paid £13 million for a bloke from Portugal that nobody had heard of until last week. £5 million + Grant for a 23 year old who scored over 30 goals last season in the division below us is a good deal.

Sorry lads, but I have to disagree with you all here. Abdoun, djebour and Lars all looked poor on youtube, and indeed they were not good enough. Some of you have put Soudani on a pedestal, but in my opinion he's the same standard as Cummings. Some of his goals are just comical with defenders just stood watching him walk past, and poor goal keeping. That's not going to happen in the Championship! I'm not slating him, and would love it if he did tear up the league. All I'm saying expectation level is way over for him.

Ings is probably on 5 times the wages of our highest earner. It is a non-starter. Grabben would be a decent signing with the service we hope he will get this season.

Stan and the Assman were both unproven but good business so can't see why Marriot couldn't work. Like the other 2 he is strong and can hold off players. I think you need a bit of muscle in the championship which is why a few of ours haven't made it. Grabban would be great too.

Peterborough describes marriott as a small player who needs to be fed balls into the box.
Most of his goals were in the box.
I wouldn't regard him as a strong player.
2 up front he would be OK but as a lone striker not a chance in this league.
