Worrall and Mancienne getting injured and falling ill in the week building up to the Burton game forced Karanka's hand and may have saved our season.
Since then we've kept 4 clean sheets in the last 7 games with Figueiredo and Fox at centre half so it was a blessing in disguise.

Yes Watson and Colback have provided a more solid wall in front of the back four but would we have kept those 4 clean sheets with Mancienne and Worrall playing? I very much doubt it and remember Colback played in front of them against Fulham and Hull when we conceded 2 in both games.

Got to agree Fred it shouldn't work on paper but it is.
That's football for you Fred we can all day play Eric he's far better than darikwa? Play anyone except fox as he's crapp?
But sometimes it works as they have an understanding that the so called better players don't.
Can't knock the defensive side of the team.

Would AK have dropped worrall and mancienne anyway? Worrying if its just luck that forced his hand. Mancienne for me, and i said it many times is poor. I hops worrall watches and learns. He will have future with us for sure. Lkke most on here was delighted that fox has been drafted into the middle. Pants has been a revelation in goal for many reasons but his organisational qualities shine through.
To go to bramall lane, a tough rough team fighting for promotion and keep a clean sheet is commendable and to come out on top second half is evidence of ambition. Well done lads.

AK knew Manc was no captain and brought in Watson to do the job, the injury was a bit of luck for him. Manc's a possible transfer in the summer, a pity because there is a good footballer in there somewhere.

I have to say the last few games I watched Worrall play were painful, just mistake after mistake and treating the ball like an unexploded bomb that might explode any second. No doubt he’ll come good but he had started costing us points

I reckon that getting rid of the ball like an unexploded bomb thing is a hangover from Warburton's ridiculous demand that we ALWAYS played out from the back. How many goals did that gift? Remember Hobbs and Jordan v Sheff Weds? That was a turning point for me. It made two pro's look stupid and gave the opposition ANOTHER goal head-start. We don't see that rubbish any more now we have a defender who has played at the highest level in charge. Hmmm.
