I have to admit, I don't see what some of you do when it comes to Lichaj. He was released from a very poor Aston Villa squad, which in my opinion says quite a lot. He's done ok for us but that's about it. I have seen him play on many occasions, and have you all forgotten when he gets turned, he's always first in with a little kick or shirt pull. I'm afraid if you want to see football at a higher level, it means bringing in players of a higher standard than Eric. Now I know your all going to hit me with the fans player of the year. well there was nobody else really to pick, in what was a poor squad.

Although you have a point, what i think you are missing is that if he was as good as you want him to be he would not have hung around Forest.

When Antonio was with us Eric allowed him to do what he did best by covering his defensive duties.

Eric works hard is pretty good at defending and gets forward aswell, forget about him having been player of the year, he is our best defender.

Eric needs to stay and be made captain,he's been here long enough and majority of fans love him,he's happy and settled in Nottingham and always puts a shift in,someone has to take over from Cohen and I can't think of anyone better,still relatively young for a full back and someone who the fans relate to.
Sign him up and make him captain

Redman, unfortunately, due to the many years of decline at our club, I think we now have to accept that any decent players we get, or produce out of the academy are going to be sold to a bigger club with money. The hope is with the academy you produce a conveyor belt of talent. We therefore can't just look to sign average players as we are worried about them leaving at some point in the future. With Eric, we have had a very poor defence for over 2 seasons now, and the fact he's standing out as the best player, I think is not a reflection of his ability, but more how poor our defence has become. I see too much sentiment attached to this player, and as a business we want the best we can get. If we want progression, this is all part of it.

Murdoch were no different from any side outside the prem,You get a good player and he'll move on.
Even if you get to the premier,unless your top six,if you have a good player they'll move on.
Only got to look at Southampton for that,what a side they'd have if they could have kept the talent,got nothing to do with clubs in decline.

We will end up selling some but Fawaz has gone so the quick buck mentality should have gone too
Move forward Murdoch, that's what the club is trying to do and Eric is a player that can help us do that

We will have to agree to disagree on this one, as I really don't see that Eric raises the standard of the team. An ok championship player at best. If we went back to the last time we had a good back four, so I'm thinking Morgan, Chambers and probably Cohen at left back. Add Eric to that, and ask who is the weakest player? For me it's Eric all day long. Fast forward to now, and suddenly he's the best we have?! No, because you can pick 3 others ahead of him. This is my point about having better calibre players. We have been so poor in this area for years now, some of you have almost accepted the lower level as the new standard!
