Apparently the social media rumour is Vellios is going to Olympiacos in Jan. He is not being played by Forest because they don't want him injured. Surely he's just as likely to be injured in U23's games? Plus strikers need games and goals for confidence? The whole situation makes no sense.

Then it is probably not true! Maybe Warburton should play him and see whether his bakery catches fire?

Vellios still has the best strike rate of any of our strikers since he has been here so the judgement of the manager has to be called into question?

It makes no sense to ostracise velios. Warbuton is flawed but it is his decicions that will deterimne the immeduate future so we are helpless

What do you mean by flawed?
No one is perfect otherwise we'd be robots and nothing would go wrong, except someone would have to win .
He's made a decision about vellios, rightly or wrongly, but he sees him train and he is the manager and like it or not he can't please everyone,Rooney can't get in Everton side two managers agree on that one early in the season, you have to accept that sometimes more is going off behind the scenes than we know.
And no manager would or should have to explain why a player is not being played by fans?
They'd have no time for the main event, trying to win matches and move the club forward.
We are supposed to support the club not tell the manager what team to pick and he's useless,so let's sack him along comes another useless one,but then you never know if we're lucky we might just get one good enough, great strategy from the ones that are still on fawaz merry go round, didn't work then keep sacking managers not going to work now either.
Just get behind the team and the manager and accept he can't please us all.

if the 'social media' rumour is true then the situation makes complete sense and is reasonable business for all parties involved . As fans we don't know half of the stuff that goes on behind the scenes (good job really!!) and if that deal is in place-good luck to Velios and let's move on.

Ff79 frankly i am sick of the name velios. But one thing is for certain he has not been given a chance. Just think we may have been better with velios in this team. But warbuton has been negligent in this situation. spending strong money on murphy who is nearly 35. And on a 3 year contract. Brerton has brought little to the team this year but velios has proven at this level he is quality. A good manager manages characters simples. Look warburton nearly dismissed eric for god sake, in favour of darikwa. 5 goals from the bench pre season and not even included in the matchday squad once????? At least warburton could explain that their are issues. No he is flawed but have never mentioned sacking him. Just don't agree with a lot of his decisions.!

That nearly 35 year old ran the line tonight perfectly and got his reward with a well taken goal from a great cross.
Good signing

Warburton is flawed he was a city trader. his tactical knowledge is limited, plays his FAVOURITE players..leaves proven players out, need i go on?
The fans are frustrated with him as were the rangers fans etc. his stubbornness and excuses after losses when forest play badly are wearing thin, same old scripted tosh!

What your saying here FF79 is quite true, but from a fans perspective, the whole Velios situation is just odd, and it's gone on for so long now, I think the club do need to say something. On the face of it we have a player that has scored consistently for that last two pre seasons, and then is dropped for no apparent reason. Personally, I also think MW failed to get the right replacements when Britt left. Murphy is too old, can't play every game, and realistically we ain't going to get much out of him over a 3 year contract.

Cummings was always going to be unproven at this level, as are BB and Walker, and it's not right they should carry the burden of scoring all the goals. We then come back to Vellios, a man who can seemingly do a job for us, but has been frozen out, for whatever reason. Once again the big issue for us is goal scoring, so I'm not surprised many fans want to know what Vellios has done wrong.

Problem is he's not got a good goalscoring record,I personally would like to see him on the bench, but warbo sees him train everyday and I don't.
Things always go on behind the scenes at clubs and it's best kept in house in my opinion.

And yet we are currently JUST outside the play off places!!!!
Look, we will play well and lose some games
We will play poorly and win some games
We will be sublime and indifferent, and everything in between.
But this is Year 1 post the barren Fawaz years. 5 years of getting worse, year on year, in virtually every way.
Me? I’ll be more than happy with a couple of years of steady re-building. Putting a squad together who know one another and who get the ethos.
Let’s try to give a bloody manager a couple of seasons to see a plan through before throwing dummies out of the oram again and demanding sackings.
That merry go round has been worn out, and it didn’t exactly work out well

We are 7th. We would all have taken that at the start of the season and we have the finances to add in January. Flawed. .improving us might be more accurate.

I'm not sure how Velios is proven in some meaningless friendlies and we don't see his attitude in training.

Some bad performances but great league position from last season
