My first post here. Just heard a rumour from a mate who's a Huddersfield Town fan that we've put an eight figure bid in for Nakki Wells. Sounds feasible, although would argue that he's not exactly the sort of player that we're missing at the moment, with the likes of MacKay, Clough and Osborne.

Theres no way we are spending £10m on a player, the new owners and Warbo know we need to be careful with FFP. Also, Wells is worth half that, maybe a tad more at best.

Basically Hudds said some Championship teams have offered £10m for him and your mate has put 2 and 2 together because of the Britt money. Prob not realising the state Fuzzy left us in financially!

This rumour doesn't make any sense at all no way we would pay stupid money like that for a striker plus we have 4 strikers already don't need anymore and even if we was willing to spent money like that would rather offer 5 mill for Aiden flint solid centre back is wat we need the most imo.

Ff79 read my post properly I never said we had that money to burn I was saying there's no way we would pay that kind of money for wells but if we did have the money which we haven't I'd rather spend money on a defender.

I meant by end of window 99 as in Sept 1st not by Friday. I think MW will try defence as it is now but if Hobbs, Mills or Fox don't look good he may try to move one on and look at loan. I am happy with Squad but I do worry about leadership in defence so a defender or keeper wouldn't go a miss. hopefully Worrall will be more vocal this season after captaining England youth. Mills is the only one who seems to talk back there pity he has not been good in last 12 months!
