Best signing we have made since Antonio and Assombolonga. Yes by next season or season after he may not be much of a influence on the pitch but for this season could make all the difference.

I agree rascal. He will get goals and bully defences. Imagine what clough and brereton will do with all those lovely knock downs.

Is it just me or is anyone else just underwhelmed by the Murphy signing? Bar one season, he's had a very average career. I would have sooner kept the £2m, and given Velios a go!

3 years is daft, but probably the only way to secure his services. Great asset at this level though. I'm sure he will compliment Cum Dog and the others well.

agreed murdoch. i think he could do a job but think it seems a bit wierd to have signed another quite average striker when we seem to have decent options there already. if we were gong to sign another atriker i thought ir eould have been a certain starter rather than another option. oh well, i have a lot of faith in warburtons signings and trust him.

When was the last time Forest signed a striker that had scored 27 goals in a Championship season?

Just the battering ram and hold up forward we need for this league.

Striker blend looking good this year.

Best signing since Antonio and Britt? have you forgot about clough? £2.5mill for clough and he's the dogs when he actually gets to play! that's the best signing we made since those two.

Agreed Clough is the balls when he plays. But he needs a player like Murphy to give him the opportunities. McKay and Clough will shine with a decent big man around.

Re Murphy, we haven't had a decent header of the ball up front for years.
How many headed goals by strikers do we get?
He will make a great target man, roughing up defenders.
We need him this season, maybe by next season the youngsters will have matured and he can be a squad player, following season we could sell him.
Re his age, look at Defoe, still a scorer, remember Dean Windass, prolific in this division for Hull and got them up. Let's see what happens.

Redinexile you got it right mate. He hasn't been signed as our out and out front man every week. We would pay 6 mill plus for that. He is a game changer. Something we haven't got. I live near ipswich and have seen him play. He is an old fashioned handful. Will get his head on crosses and cause havoc. In games when we are on top he will be great. When we play on the break we will need bens pace. Options is what its about.

He will score goals and create space around him for clough, Osbourn, Brereton and Mckay etc. Bargain at 2m.
