I am sure he would be an asset but we cannot play 2 20 year olds together at centre back if we are to challenge? He can play as a holding midfielder as well so that might be an option if he has the legs?

Not sure we need any more strikers but Garners all action, tough style of play could give us something different and prove a good foil for our less physical players, no defenders like to play against this type of dog with a bone never say die attitude .
Wouldn, t pay a lot for him or pay him a fortune but at the right price could be someone who, d respond to the current management.

Paid a million last time and he gets booked more than he scores .
All action and no quality
Scored most of his goals for carlisle and preston at league one and two level.
Thats his level.

Correct mate. We cannot afford to get it wrong this time round, reckon we need a proven Championship, no nonsense, CB, a bit of bite in midfield, we haven't anyone in those positions that makes the opposing side think twice about taking us on.

Thing is rogie, we need players who can improve the squad and are better than we have.
I see nothing in Garner, Waghorn, Tavanier and Mckay that would improve us and none of them are good enough to hold down a regular place.
Need some midfielders and couple defenders that's all, no more strikers.

If you see nothing in Garner then where does that leave Jamie Ward who did so much in the Ipswich game, very similar two players, always in your face .

Garner has been tried at this level twice and failed miserably.
Hardley scored for us and only managed 6 goals for preston in the championship before rangers paid 1.8 million for him, where he's scored 7 in Mickey mouse football.
His goals come at league 1 level.
Wardy has a bit more about him.

Garner is not as versatile as Ward and has not cut it in the Championship. Wardy all day long for me.

Garner would do a fantastic job at The Pies!

If ya want and ex forest player who can get in your face and put the effort and score only a few goals why don't we get simon cox back Carlo?
Fact is both aren't good enough for this league that we aren't in and they would be reserve players at best. ward is also far better than garner.
If we start buying some of the player from rangers then next season will be a bigger struggle than last.
