I have nothing personal against Jordan Smith, I just don't think he is good enough yet to be our keeper. He was brought in by Gary Brazil, who had a vested interest in playing academy players.

Ask two questions: if Jordan had not renewed his contract a few weeks ago, how many Championship clubs would have snapped him up?

What are the chances that when we have a goalkeeper crisis we discover that our 4th choice keeper at the beginning of the season, a player that has been at the club for over nine years, just happened to be a Championship standard goalkeeper all along?

If he plays the last three games, I wish him well, but his lack of height invites shots and crosses.

This is why we are such a united team with negative crap like this.
He has been drafted in and has been excellent but still gets critasised.

Truth is we keep losing 1-0 and as a team at the bottom we are easy picking so conceding one goal per game is not the problem. Not scoring ourselves is more a concern.

Let's give the young players support not critasism.

I really hope Jordan does not read this forum? He has not let the team down. We have had a season of interference in squad assembling and poor tactics despite having a quality squad!

Understand what you saying but we have no. option
Stoikovic is a total joke
To be honest Shilton wouldn't want to play behind this back four no matter what permutation
Only time we look solid was back three against Huddersfield
Think we should acept we can't defend and a new goalkeeper will. make no difference
When we say unlucky to lose games one nil we had our luck to get three points against Newcastle and villa over a season that evens out
Let's just hope that MW has learnt about this squad he's inherited and goes against his principles and plays two up front, I'm more concerned about the lack of goals than the goalkeeper.

Young keepers come in and do well and people still give them a pounding for it. evtimov was the same made a few cracking saves but let one in and he's not good enoigh, now smith who was thrown in at the deep end and has done as well as we could of expected yet still gets grief for it. you can't develop as a player unless managers give you a chance to develop and show what your about, peter Shilton was 6ft tall did his height worry you?

To be fair to Jordan he's only 100% better than Stojkovic and Henderson is injured - at the start of the season everyone wanted Henderson out! In the words of the poison dwarf 'it is what it is' Jordan smith is a good keeper in my opinion.

sorry, but Smith is better than De Vries and that's coming from a fellow keeper. He's be excellent. He kept us in a few games - especially Derby at CG. He could have done better for the Blackburn goal, but that's it. Vent you frustration at the weak centre backs or lack of creativity in midfield, not at the best keeper we've had since Darlow.

How many crosses did de vries come for whilst playing for us? never commanded his box by catching a cross or a corner. yet people were angry when we let him go. he was a good shot stopper but hardly ever caught a cross or came for a corner.

Smith has only conceded on average a goal a game compared to 1.75 goals per game before he came in?

We have a good keeper!

Our problem is a weak midfield attacking the touchline and not the goal!

For all our sanity when is a midfielder going to just look up SHOOT and hit the target?

So much for the best balanced squad we've put together in years then?
Anyway let's hope we can keep a clean sheet and at least a point, preferably 3 and don't care how ugly it looks anything to stay in championship.
Can't go tomorrow as have a weekend away with some brummie friends, he's city fan he's more worried than us as like he says they could be in Bottom three sat night .
Have radio on though and will be at QPR so 3 points tomorrow please and make my trip to QPR a bit less stressful.
So come on you tricky trees kick sum ass and give the supporters a win that they deserve.

Shilts was never a keeper that used to come for crosses. In all fairness, I can't remember many keepers that do these days. When you have a couple of big centre halfs in front of you, it's asking for trouble coming out trying to catch balls over their head.
