According the the local paper site, our transfer embargo is for a further two transfer windows. Is this correct? Can we really not buy any new players until the the start of the 2016/17 season!?

Yes - well it's expected to be as we won't make the FFP threshold this year either, except for Free Transfers and Loan Signings

Would be longer with these rules but the rules change for the 2016/2017 season so that's when it will be lifted, unless we show that we have tried to comply which we havnt really.

To be honest this is the way I see Championship football going. The Premiership Clubs have far to much money to invest in players, The only way for us to compete is to have 4/6 good pro's on our books and the rest made up of our own youngsters coming through from the youth team and Loan players from the Premiership. With that you manage to compete and keep the wage bill down

Unless we get promoted to the prem then ffp doesn't count!!!

Matlock
If FFP doesn't count then Why are we under embargo
I think what you mean is if we get promotion it will not count, In that case you should look at QPR who look like being in trouble if they get relegated as they breached the rules when they went up

Is there no way that the embargo can be lifted? It seems a tad harsh.

It strikes me that FFP is to all intent and purpose to
be an unfair 'restriction of trade' and should be removed forthwith.
It is designed to keep the big clubs safe and big and keep all aspiring clubs in their place
