Karanka wants vellios ward mills and carayol sold in the next week.?
We will listen to offers?

Believable8 0Unbelievable

23 Jan 2018 09:43:08
Will Mills want to take a step down, i will be surprised if a Championship club would take him, unless Burton would try.

Ward and Carayol would grt Championship teams, but would pay Carayol what ee do.

Vellious is probably more suited to the foreign leagues.

23 Jan 2018 13:03:17
All comes down to whether they want to play football or are happy picking up their salaries and letting their footballing careers burn out. I believe Ward, Carayol and Vellios will be willing to move, however as previously stated, I doubt a champ team will want Mills so he'd have to drop down a league or two and probably take a wage cut.

That sounds a bit fishy, mills would surply the chips from the one's he has on his shoulders, all of which have come from all of the mistakes he has made and it never being his fault.☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺

Ha ha good one

Agree5 0Disagree

21 Jan 2018 16:23:43
Finishing the window stronger could just mean the players he has will improve in their right positions, not necessarily any more additions to the squad. Unless of course McKay or someone else leaves. Personally I think we have a good talented squad who can keep us up, even though there still will be ups and downs in terms of results. Let's work with what we've got and not expect some sort of single saviour to come in and put everything right all of a sudden.

Agree6 2Disagree

21 Jan 2018 16:33:52
He may also mean that they will be mentally stronger following this and the Arsenal results and their new found team ethic.
That or we have some decent players coming in. maybe he is close to someone arriving.
Clayton please!!

Agree1 0Disagree

21 Jan 2018 16:43:43
I think he will add two this window. One central defender and one strong chsracter in midfield. We have no cover for worral or bridcutt. Personally manciennd is no captain as he never ever speaks on the pitch so maybe expect a vociferous addition.

Agree3 1Disagree

21 Jan 2018 18:02:07
Bsred, I think Karanka would like a general on the pitch. A strong character to lift the players if we are flagging, to enforce AK's directions. Clough had McGovern, AK trusts a player at Boro, I hope he gets his man.

21 Jan 2018 18:35:03
Billy (like him or hate him) sought out & got McKenna. We've had no-one since other than CC but always injured.

Mancienne might not be a captain but we are a much better team when he’s in the back 4.

Agree6 0Disagree

21 Jan 2018 19:32:59
Never saw McGovern give the team a lift ,like Mance just got on with his job and led by example.
Others in a that side were much much more vocal than McGovern ,you don,t have to bawl and shout to be skipper you need the others respect.

21 Jan 2018 20:14:55
Captains work in different ways, a crunching tackle to set the tone of a game, encouraging defensive shape, scoring a whopper. You could be the best player but a rubbish captain, I like a talker who praises, chastises, rollocks and encourages, a conductor on the pitch. We don't have that but I believe we would be that stronger side, if we could sign such a player.

Agree1 0Disagree

21 Jan 2018 21:17:23
Carlo mancienne struggles with concentration. His communication with colleagues is ziltch. He is not a bad player but then he is not a great player. Captain material nope.

You can have great players in any league and at any standard, the problem is keeping hold of them and trying to make sure the clubs get something out of them ie . Promotion or cash in the bank.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Jan 2018 00:58:28
Have said for a while that it is ridiculous that the only player I see every game shouting and talking to everyone all the time is young Joe Worrall!
None of our players who have worn the armband lately are overly vocal, Manchienne, Lichij or Mills. No matter what position a leader is something we need.

Great result, even better performance and a clean sheet
Thank God we now have a proper manager we deserve,
Didn't take him long to get this young team playing with confidence. Most of have seen the potential all season, stifled by a useless banker playing football manager.

21 Jan 2018 11:35:09
Did you go yesterday redone?

Agree1 1Disagree

21 Jan 2018 22:27:36
Hi Rutland, yes I did go yesterday. Marked difference in the way we played, everybody playing for each other. A bit fortunate with the first goal, second goal down to cash, been impressed by his energy. Bouch had a brilliant game, broke up play and then had the quality to play forward.

Goals change games, and to score 2 in 3minutes obviously helps, but we never looked threatened, Keeper didn’t have to make a save. The whole back four were immense, have to mention the much maligned Fox, he put in a proper shift.

For the first time this season I witnessed a team worthy of wearing the Garibaldi, every player looked confident and assured, we even had ole football at the end.
I think we might be on the rise mate.

In the spirit of OBE

"Owners should be never seen or heard but just pay the bills and let the professionals get on with it"?

In Karanka we have a professional who knows what he is doing and has the T shirts to back it up.

So all the Formoaners and playstation managers just need to STFU and let him see out his contract and see where it takes us as we will be in a better place than when he found us?

Result!

What! How can you say that? Abdoun the bearded magician was a delight to watch, what a player. Remember when he demolished West Ham and QPR on Boxing Day.?He was brilliant til the β€œterrible” came, then he was tarred with the same brush. Adeline Guerdiorra, another superb Algerian, would have them both back tomorrow.

He's on 25k a week and has a contract till 2021 apparently?
Can you honestly see us competing with that?
If we want to get to the premiership then we will have to compete and give karanka a real chance of achieving it,the shackles will have to come off.

Suttonpete: the worst thing would be to panic buy players who are cheap but are journeymen with no real talent as we have done in the past. Maybe we should just stick with our own lads, and bring a few more youngsters into the side.

Agree6 6Disagree

19 Jan 2018 11:11:08
Wasn’t wanting more youngsters in one of the reasons MW and co got the sack? We need experienced Championship players but I don’t hold out much hope of getting the Boro lads, they are the type of players we need. Not much time left to get deals done.

Agree4 3Disagree

19 Jan 2018 11:23:33
I think Karanka mentioned we had a very young side and suggested that going forwards he would address this so we are more balanced with experience as well.

I'd be surprised if we don't see 1 or 2 in during this window, there is probably more going on behind the scenes than we know, duck swimming analogy and all that.

12 days is loads of time:)

19 Jan 2018 11:58:05
I have not assumed anything or stated he should or should not. I have never panicked being a forest fan, my glass is always half full and try and remain optimistic. I am certainly not one of these calling for a managers head every time we are on a losing run. We obviously need some improvement, but that comes over time. let's not forget were we were last season!!

From what I have read, we have shown interest in the Boro players, but can't match or compete with the wages. If we get some players out first, it then frees up some money for wages.

Agree2 1Disagree

19 Jan 2018 13:29:36
Daz - I don't think one of the reasons MW got sacked was for bringing youngsters in??? he got some youngsters in and then tried to get them to play out of position or in a different way. Bit like a site manager getting sparkies to do the plumbing :)

Agree5 1Disagree

19 Jan 2018 13:58:19
2Tone I was trying to highlight the fact that MW wanted to bring in β€œmore” young players to go with what we already have and the powers that be didn’t agree with that.So it was not β€œthe” reason but apparently it was one of them.

18 Jan 2018 18:44:18
Karanka has said he's been asked to build side to maybe make play offs. But if missing out to finish almost at playoffs and more to push on from there for next season. If this is true then he must have been given at least 5m to spend now on right players if available.

Believable4 2Unbelievable

18 Jan 2018 20:31:42

If the right players come in at right price.
I.e. Clayton 2m leadbitter 2m.
I'd try get jokic back for left back looked a decent player
Maybe Dawson centre back. I think this would set us up for rest of season and add again after clearout in summer.
Clayton not being picked so should. E available
Leadbitter is now getting games but contracts up in summer and is now 32.
Dawson contracts up in summer and might want to come home.
Jockic contracts up in summer.

Maybe he hasn't bid for Clayton because he knows the wages he's on already and knows he can't offer the same?
Leadbitter the same premier wages, our owners want rid of high earners.
This could be a big problem for Karanka and who he'd like to bring?
As to actually who he can afford to bring in.

Forest are in for Sam Byram on a short-term loan deal. Byram returned to senior football in the 3rd round replay and Kranaka believes Bryam can help steady the ship at the back, whist also getting back to full fitness - whist a long term defender is sort after.
